  1. For me the Masters and The Open Championship are my favorites, followed by the U.S. Open and then PGA Championship. The Players Championship is like a major also and I've played a million rounds at Sawgrass on video games over the years.

  2. The master pool sounds great! When is the deadline to enter Rich. I have a very advanced mathematical equation that also requires an intense sweat lodge ritual.

  3. I was really disappointed that the final round was a washout until tomorrow. I was really looking forward to watching it today. I have to work in the morning . It should be a great finish. Tiger's putter is on fire. Maybe I will watch it on my iPhone. I'll find a nice closet to curl up in.....

  4. We don't get "wound up". we enjoy the challange.

This is a golf thread for people who love THE SPORT. We know you can't stand it. Keep to your footy or betting and leave us alone.

    Hear, hear!

  5. ^^

Lol. I wonder how many meetings were held to decide that!

A masters comp would be fun.

I see Justin Rose was the overnight leader at Bay Hill . God Bless 'im. Certainly a good warmup for the masters is Bay Hill

  6. Hey Babs, was that the "famous rainbow" scene?...I seem to remember seeing a clip of him in tears with a rainbow in the back drop.....scratching head now.........

    I forgot about that! Amazing

  7. I live in Augusta, Georgia, so you all know what that means.

    The Masters® Tournament.

Actually, I should have said, I live in Augusta, Georgia - Home of The Masters®. LOL

So every year for the Masters®, a different golfer is invited to do a clinic / meet & greet with the soldiers.

As the photographer, I get to meet them, so it's pretty cool.

I've got a signed hat from Boo Weekly (orange camo, LOL).

He came out to the base during Masters® 2009.

    Nice guy.

Also a signed ball from 2-time Masters Champion Ben Crenshaw.

And I have a signed photo of Fuzzy Zoeller from a couple years ago, but it's at my desk.

One of my favorite memories was when Crenshaw won the masters on the same weekend as Harvey Penick passed away. Ben was a student of Harvey's(or more like a father son thing) and when he drained the birdie on the 18 hole for the win and collapsed in tears well... I think we all had tear's in our eyes that day. Or maybe it was the sunlight.... Good stuff. Fuzzy is great too.

Type O you are so fortunate to live near Augusta National (trademark) great course . Magnolia Lane. Amen Corner Sandy Lyle .......

It will be a great tourney this year what with Woods playing so well

  8. I imagine Boo Weekly owns a gun or 2 ......

Poulter is great but I think in Ryder cup format he really shines.

    Graham McDowell's playing well.

Is Sandy Lyle in the Field this year?

  9. I have Ally. Years ago. It is lovely but a bit hilly for me. A lot of blind shots.

I've played a lot of the courses in the lower mainland over the years. Perhaps when your back is fixed we can go for a round ..... With carts of course.

  10. looks like a beauty!..

have you ever played Capilano (sp?) ally?

My buddy is a chef at Capilano. Very exclusive and very private. He made lunch for Pat Quinn last year lol!

  11. I used to play quite a bit also at Peace Portal when I but a wee bairn. When the golf bug really got me I started to play

at courses like The Falls in Chilliwack.

  12. ^^ that reminds me , I read a nice book years ago called 'A Good Walk Spoiled: Days and Nights on the PGA Tour' by John Feinstein

Another fun read is Harvey Penicks Little Red Book. That one should improve your putting !

  13. Babs, another that slipped my mind is The Beat Merchant in Steveston. Parking can be quite difficult but if your down in Steveston sometime for a nice walk through the village, it's definitely worth checking out. Lot's of old 60's British Beat, and collectables . It's almost like a minature version of the British Beat, Beatles store that used to be at Pender and Seymour . I must be losing it beacause the name of that store is eluding me at the moment. I'm sure you know the one I mean.

My tattoo guy opened a shop out there. Sounds like a good idea to get some new ink! Tattoo, record shopping and pick up some fresh fish from the docks. A good day out eh ally?

  14. There are a number of decent used record stores in Vancouver although, no where near as many as there used to be. Neptoon Records on Main St and Audiopile on Commercial Dr are probably the two I visit the most. Can't say I've spent a ton of dough in either but both are very interesting stores. Especially Neptoon. There always seems to be something rare in stock and their concert poster prints are exceptional. Zulu Records on 4th ave used to be great but I've found them to be a little pricey of late and not as well stocked as they used to be. Wish there hadn't been so many that have shut down. I quite enjoy looking through bins for music

Red Cat Records on Main is another good one ally. Usually we go to The Reef for Huevos Rancheros then pop over to the record store afterwards. (:
