  1. Nah Nah! The best part is during Dazed when the camera does a close up to Jimmy's eye and then we go back stage to see some guy being run down by security guards. He gets past a weird suit who clenches his fist and makes a face as if to say "just let me get my hands on him" After they grab him they take him in a room and probably beat the snot out of him. They show him come looking quite dazed! ;)

That's the best part of the TSRTS :yesnod:

  2. There are a lot of songs with misheard lyrics. It happens to many many people, they are simply mistaken about they heard. I always heard Gentle and I never thought I heard anything else in any show I ever listened too.

I think the only way to solve this for sure is either to get plant to admit that's what he sang or to get the isolated vocal track and listen to what he says from there.

I'm in the camp who hears gentle. :peace:

  3. On my phone -- what was this "definitive proof"? There WAS "borrowing," but it was from a Davey Graham instrumental, not from anything by Spirit.

Take a look at the tabs and them tell me you still think Stairway was borrowed enough to where anyone could say they want a credit for writing.. There are only 4 notes in question. I do not believe that 4 notes constitutes theft or even borrowing.

    The top one is Taurus

I don't know if this has been posted but it is an amusing little game.

Thanks juxtiphi for your music post. Of course it is not the same as you have pointed out.

That's the problem. Idiots making headlines that do nothing to solve the controversy. All you have to do is look at the tabs. Only an idiot could say they are the same.

  5. While we all may agree with you that STH wasn't stolen, it is the nature of this kind of lawsuit that what is proof to you and I might not be proof to a judge.

As for why more people didn't comment on your post - I don't know. I read music but don't read tablature (if that's what that is that used to show the proof) so while I can compare one thing to the other that you offered, I don't actually know what either thing is.

Judge or no judge the only way a person can look at the tabs an still feel its been plagiarized is if they have a personal vendetta against Zeppelin or they are just too petty to admit they are wrong.

  6. Its funny, 9 pages or speculation and some out right blame was posted but when I post definitive proof that Stairway was not stolen only two people bother to comment. Where are all those people who were sure it was plagiarized now!?

I don't know, I figured there would be many more people here who would be interested in seeing proof positive of Stairways authenticity.

  7. Its his usual MO. Start off by sounding like you are going to defend something then turn around and slam it.

Here is a very interesting Comparison of the music in question.

    Spirit - Taurus tab
Many other versions of Taurus tab are incorrectly posted on the web with the
first 4 bars of Stairway to Heaven tab. These 2 songs, based on a commonly
used A minor descending chromatic walk are vastly different in composition and complexity.
Only an amateur would confuse them for the same song.

  8. One of the best Plantations ever is from Earls court on the 24th, At the beginning of Tangerine Robert is talking about great love affairs in our lives and right then Bonham yells out "Right Behind You!!" He will always be the best and to all you young people out there learn a lesson from his death. Never lay your totally drunk ass friend who has passed out on their back! it may save their life!! always lay a drunk person on their stomach with their head turned to one side so if they vomit it wont end up choking them to death.

  9. love it all and especially Bathroom Song what a riveting jam that is,

:ahhh: a riveting jam! its exactly like the album version with no lyrics! :yesnod: this isnt something you've never heard before unless you never made it all the way through Zep III.

C'mon people its Out On The Tiles no matter what Jimmy calls it, it will never be anything else. I'm serious about that. :rtfm::wave:

  10. "Hallway Sound". If Jimmy was going through his vaults and found a tape called "Bathroom Sound" why change the name of it? Why is it wrong to keep true to history? I don't see it as 'sneaky'. I think it's cool. Maybe that track means little to you but I can see where it will be appreciated/useful to a budding musician and other Led Zeppelin fans.

And didn't Jimmy say the bonus tracks have never been heard before? I thought I read that somewhere.....

really? budding musicians will find the title useful? Now that's funny. My collection contains all the bootlegs. But I made a mistake, I said I had 4 versions but its 2, 3 if we count this new one as different. However I think its the same take just some of the lead in and out has been trimmed and the sound has been polished but I'm pretty sure its the same track. Even if it isn't its so similar to the other one as to be no different at all so there's jimmy being true just like with I can't quit you babe from coda.

BTW there's a lot of stuff to left to hear, though it may not have the full sound quality its still well worth the listen and could quite possibly be of some use to budding musicians who have the desire to listen to a master at work.

  11. Historical footnote eh!? Call La La an historical footnote, it never became a track on an album. Bathroom sound isn't a working title anymore, now its a misdirection that gives me the person buying this stuff the idea that another song I never heard was included. Jimmy may have wrote BSNV on the container but he knows Its Out On The Tiles no matter how you want to slice it. I feel it should have been named as such, Like, rough idea for OOTT no vocals. Now I know what I am getting 100% and not sitting around hoping for something else I never heard as a reason for buying.

You think Jimmy's gonna give us an outtake of WTLB and call it hallway sound? Its been mentioned many times that they recorded the drums from a hallway? so why not right? I just think its a little sneaky. They previewed La La but never said anything about bathroom sound so of course people like myself are thinking there's one Easter egg left as surprise! guess what!. it wasn't. It's kind of a let down. I love OOTT because of its simplicity. I also have a few takes and one of them is probably the one they released. To me it just seems a tad sneaky to hide a known track under some obscure bullshit title like bathroom sound just because a tape was labeled that way.

  12. Nice article :goodpost: . Just like we all figured, hes an ambulance chaser.

One thing that bugs me about this whole thing is the way its characterized by the media. Even in this article there's a head line saying read bout Led Zeppelin accused of stealing famous Stairway To Heaven track. When regular folks read stuff like that they get the impression that Zeppelin "stole" the whole song lock, stock and barrel and renamed it Stairway in some attempt to fool people into thinking it was their own.

Well I'm here to tell ya! it Is!!!.
