  1. "I beg your pardon sir, but the word he used... I think he means those houses down there"

    Damn those Heritage Minutes! :P

Good ol' Liberal Party/Bronffman/Power Crap. propaganda...

I'm waiting for the day where they'll make a minute about when Mulroney sold Petro-Canada to american interrests for 290 millions$.

Or when Trudeau fucked Quebec up in 1982, with the Constitution.

    Or the Durham rapport...

  2. Another forum member with gorgeous hair!!! I'm sulking :P:D

The unsatisfied-melancolic look is procured by the ugly sound made by some old strings...

Notice the Historic cover of Herb Alpert and Tijuana Brass' Whipped Cream and Other Delights, in the back... 25 minutes of pure joy and pleasure. B)

  4. Being born 23 years ago, I can't tell how big they were in Canada, back in the 70's but nowadays they're HUGE. On my local "classic" rock station, CHOM 97.7FM, they're probably the most played and requested band. And I've worked in a record store for 2 years and we were selling a lot of their records and it was amazing to see how many young kids we're big fans. Not the usual posers, real fan. They're like The Beatles... Immortals.

Ah! I remember that chick I've served one time. She was foxy and was a massive Zephead... She bought the DVD and BBC Sessions. And she was discovering Zappa and was loving it, as she told me! The perfect woman... disappeared in the vast population... <_<

  5. This show is now a Detroit urban legend...Here's an example.

Even though they put out great songs, it was rumored that their live shows weren't exactly "live".

While attending CMU in the early 1980's, a friend of mine told me a story about the time he went to see ELO at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan. I don't know the date of the concert but I know it was the late late 1970's. ELO had the spaceship on stage, which lifted up and ELO appeared on stage. I don't know when in the concert this happened but according to him, the drummer was holding his sticks in the air when there was a "rum-bum-bum" from the drums. He quickly covered but the audience was onto the the memorex moment and started booing. The spaceship abruptly lowered and the concert was over.

Again, don't know if true or not. Throughout my college "career" though, when an ELO song was played on the radio or one of their videos played on MTV, someone would relate this story to me. Bottom line is don't mess around with Detroit rock crowd.

It wasn't as dramatic as the above description, but the tape problems happened more than the once described during the course of the show. It was especially revealing when the band was trying to fill in the orchestra parts on some of their tunes. The mix was terrible...and we were hearing things that weren't happening on stage. There were several Milli-Vanilli moments, and the band was way out of synch for most of the show. The crowd more than booed...they booed as they were leaving. The band was later sued by the promoter for using tapes during the show. This received a lot of publicity in the U.S., and pretty much ended ELO's live career, at least in the States. The bottom line is they had no business playing an arena that size, and paid the price for trying to cash in.

 Oh! now I see! I'm quite surprised that ELO managed to play in such a large venue as the Silverdome...

But I think they received what they deserved. I really have no respect for "artists" trying to steal their fans by having a tape playing in the back.

At first I thought someone might have thrown a live crab on stage and it snapped someone in the face!! hehehe!

  6. Neil Young is coming to Finland! Wohoo I must get tickets. He's one of my favourite artists. I'm so excited about this!

he's going all over the world but he's ignoring Canada for the exception of Toronto :(

  7. Well Im try to find one, but I can't, so lets start this one.

Since last year, im founding all kind of great artits. I start with Led Zep, then ZZ Top, Eric Clapton (well I realy know him since the 90's with the Eric Clapton Unplugged), B.B. King (same case), Buddy Guy, Cream, The Yardbirds, Jethro Tull, etc....

Now I want to know Jeff Beck.

When I saw Crossroads 2007 Guitar Festival, I saw him for the first time. Jeff's daughter play the bass real nice.

So lets go and give me your opinion, and talk about him.

    No, she's not his daughter.
