Another favorite band of mine. The older stuff ( "Deguello" and back) I prefer over the later releases. Their first album and Rio Grande Mud are priceless.
Tres Hombres and Tejas are really good.
Lil fact- Degeullo means No Quarter. It was played during the Alamo siege by the Mexican army.

I think she would have been good. She has done some good versions of Rock and Roll live and she was at the O2 DVD premier in New York- so she is a fan for sure. I always thought she and Jimmy Page would make a good couple.I don't know how good a public speaker Stevie Nicks is, but I would have enjoyed hearing that woman give the introduction.

I Just Wanna Make Love To You
I have this video- and just watched it again recently-very enjoyable.
He did use the Les Paul. I saw them on the 1985 and 1986 tours in Houston,TX at the Summit. I know he used it for sure during the Chase but also on some other songs. Just look at the photo thread I made of them live from 1984-1986 and he is using the Les Paul (sometimes with the pick guard removed) and he also used the Red Les Paul with B bender. I will admit his main guitar during the Firm was the brown telecaster though.Telecasters with b-benders and Strats. no Les Pauls. He whipped out the Dano to for White Summer.

Nutrocker I have both of those Aerosmith shows from 1977 on video and another show I saw them at in 1988. I also have AC/DC 1983, Kansas 1980, the Cars-1984, Zebra 1984, Kiss 1976- 2 shows in 1977,Queen 1977, and the very first show ever to be played at the Summit in 1975-The Who. I had that one as a bootleg and then just recently it was released as a legit dvd with cleaned up picture and sound. So that gives me hope that there is a video and multitrack tapes for the sound for the Led Zeppelin show in 1977 at the Summit. There are also pro shot videos from Aerosmith's 1977 Houston appearance as well as Crosby, Stills and Nash from the same year (and, yeah, soundboards and videos for both gigs circulate, see below)
Aerosmith:
CSN:
Jon Astley who has done most of the restoration- sound etc on all the Who releases since 1994- went in and cleaned up the sound from the multitracks and also reinstated the missing audio from 'Squeeze Box.'
I am not saying Jimmy has the multitracks from the Houston show as maybe The Who brought their own mobile truck for the show. The show though was recorded by just 2 cameras but is very enjoyable. I have hope for a Zep video some day.

I am not saying The Rover is full of crap but I have seen alot of shows at the Summit and some of the ones I saw were videotaped and I have them in my collection. When I saw Aerosmith in 1984- no camera men on the stage- it was all done with about 3 cameras positioned elsewhere-not on the stage or right up on it either. One I remember was by the mixing board on the floor.Woo hoo! A Tempe '77 Pro Shot!!! That's a real must see!!!!
Seriously, though...there is a member of the forum named The Rover who attended the Houston '77 show who has stated here on more than one occasion that there were no video screens at the Summit like there were at the Pontiac Silverdome or at the Kingdome in Seattle...The Rover said that there were no cameramen on the stage at all, for that matter. So I'd imagine based on that 'eyewitness account' that a Houston '77 pro shot existing has more or less been debunked.
There was a 1st generation version of the recording used for the common boot (Hot Rods In Pontiac) circulated a couple years back that is vastly superior to the bootleg CD...presumably yer LP boot used the same superior source (the 1st gen is a definite improvement over HRIP; it sounds like a completely different recording except it's not- the Hot Rods boot was clearly overprocessed, which is nothing unusual when it comes to bootleg companies...)
That paticular show I was on the 3rd row so I would know there was no camera men on the stage. There is a complete video tape of the show to.
Here is a link to photos from that show I saw.

You are a materialistic person then. I will never own a BMW or Mercedes -Benz because :Finding myself driving behind one of these in the parking lot of my neighborhood grocery store.
Mercedes-SLS-AMG-GT-2012-2.jpg
During the Holocaust, the most respected German corporations used slave labor, including BMW, Daimler-Benz (Mercedes-Benz), Messerschmitt, and Krupp. Though they were not forced to use slaves, they nevertheless used them as “good business practice.” Additionally, I.G. Farben, a German chemical industry conglomerate, invested more than 700 million Reich marks (German dollars) to build a huge petrochemical plant at Auschwitz III, which was staffed by human slaves.
Merecedes-Benz also supplied the ovens for the Holocaust.

I wrote Knebby and asked about Jimmy Page's intentions as she said "he told her" he was gonna tour etc in 2013. Texas Melanie we just were chit chatting about meeting up at LZ movie. so I am assuming those are the two you're are talking about. If you scroll back up there is more detail about the Texas Melanie episode-so I don't see how you say I creeped anyone out.
I have nothing to hide and am getting really tired of someone like you that has nothing to do with any of it going by a Biased -someone said this or that.
Tell me your instances?? Since you are accusing me of stuff out in the open.

Right on- when someone points their finger at you- just remember they have 3 fingers and a thumb pointing back at them. I saw myself being called crazy in another thread by him and then magically it was edited the next day.Strider, I will admit I did continue on longer than I would have liked, believe me-and I realize that now, but it's not gonna stop me from having my opinion and sticking to it, no matter how many disagree, and expressing it if I am questioned on it. Hell, in a matter of 30 minutes I was debating this with 5 different people, so what do you expect me to do...lay down? If someone ask me a question or wants to have a discussion, I'm down for it, and up until the last few post it was civil.
As far as calling someone crazy, it sounded just as that..CRAZY. If you have two people (Knebby and Slave) read your post WRONG entirely and accuse you of not being sensitive/open to "outsiders" views-I WILL respond to that, because I clearly stated that I appreciated the outlook and comments from people across the globe. They failed to read above and witness that. I think Reggie for instance made some good points, and I complimented him on that. I don't give a rats ass where someone lives..an opinion is an opinion.
If you would like to act so high and mighty Strider and pretend like you've never called anyone "crazy" or any other word...guess what buddy, you better wake up - because the phrase I used in that heated moment was..."Go sell crazy somewhere else"!! Hmmmm, sound familiar??? It should, because YOU have made that phrase famous here-and it's the ONLY place I've heard it used. I thought it went perfectly in that situation, and I thought of you-So thanks for adding to the vocabulary.
Secondly, if someone wants to continuously make as statement about the MAJORITY of cops being BAD, blah, blah, blah and make it as a fact-I will say that is ignorant. because it's not true, and if it was, how can you prove that anyway?
Disagreements get out of control here and I don't think you are free of that either. You just chose to opt out of that particular thread.
So before you JUDGE someone, look in the mirror.

Glad you didn't get hit.I am happy because the driver of the articulated lorry that spent at least 20 seconds on the wrong side of the road heading straight towards me an hour ago realised his error just in time to return to his side of the road. He wasn't even overtaking anything. Totally empty 1am road. I was so dumbfounded that it didn't even occur to me to flash my lights at him. Fucking foreign drivers.
Now I'm sure there are a few here who wish he hadn't pulled away in time. To you, I say this: TOUGH SHIT.

They played two nights for that Unledded project- I wonder if we will ever get to hear the alternate versions.Page/Plant - The Rain Song Unledded Version

The other thing besides the cover for that latest Guitar World- that irked me was the wrong photo and dates for the photos etc.
The pic labeled as Madison Square Garden June 1, 1977 is actually June 14.
The one labeled as Los Angeles 1972 is actually 1973 and the other one is LA 1972.
The two pics labeled as Oakland,CA 1977 - only one is Oakland and the other is from Kezar, SF 1973 (Bonzo) and the pic is backwards.
I am going by memory as I don't have my copy with me but just remembered I wanted to say something about this.

I think it was the site Royal Orleans that there was a topic on the 1977 tour that the roadies never washed the White Dragon suit and that after all the sweating it was pretty foul.Must have been smelly at the end...

I would say times change and so do fashions. It doesn't change the fact that it is a very cool outfit.Has he ever said why he did not contimue wearing it? Does anyone know if he has ever talked of this?
