By underrated, I meant that in some pockets of the world, people know who Rush is. But in other pockets of the world, Rush sadly, remains pretty unknown, even today. Ask Geddy Lee. He himself, stated this very very clearly, in an interview, fairly recently. Can you honestly tell me that the same can be said about bands like Led Zeppelin and The Beatles?! Even I did not know about Rush until June of last year, considering the fact that I have discovered so many other bands from the 60's and 70's (all thanks to my dad's and mom's music collection), through the decades like Led Zeppelin, Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Blind Faith, TrafficQueen, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Who, CSNY, The Rolling Stones, The Sonics, The Stooges, MC5, Uriah Heep, The Baker Gurvitz Army, Derek And The DominosThe Allman Brothers Band, Fleetwood Mac, Jethro TullYes and countless and virtually unknown 60's Garage Rock bands. Had you asked my dad at the beginning of last year, who Rush is, my dad would have blinked and said he doesn't have a clue! This is coming from a guy who has been a fan of Led ZeppelinThe Beatles and all those other bands that I have mentioned, for 30 odd years.

Oh and I think it's absurd to dismiss all of Rush's albums, after Signals. But hey, we can agree to disagree.

And sadly, even Rush have run their course.

Most bands who have held the potential to eclipse Zep after their demise have also gone the way of the dinosaurs.

    Has Rock died?

WHAAAT???? Now you take that back!!!! :duel::rant:

LOL  He-he, just kidding with you Moddey.
    :peace:

Backing vocals in the studio I thought  Jimmy was fine. However live though?
Well half the time he wouldn't bother to sing where he was needed,  or turn
his head away from the mic, and then the best was in '77 you had him doing it
with a cig dangling out of his mouth *
Yeah Pagey that'll turn out well for ya.*

I don't think Jones is horrific.....but I will say The Battle Of Evermore  definitely
NOT my cup of tea with him singing Sandy's part. Bonzo or Jimmy would be my
preference to sing over Jonesy.  Bonzo Jr.  isn't too bad though. He sang back up
    on some stuff at O2.  Did a decent job i m o.

    Sorry thread readers
    back to Steve's mysteries.

    Lol... ?

Bonzo was a great backup singer, and Jason is good too.

"Can't reply"..You just did......Anyway the so called Children could be teens who could have made themselves something to eat then left a grill on, a chip pan, maybe left a tea towel on a hob ring they have left turned on at a low setting and the tea towel after time caught fire, careless maybe but accidents happen

  6. Glad I got to see them. I procrastinated for years, not sure why, because they are my top 3 for a live show. Incredible. The loudest too. I can understand Neil wanting to hang it up at his age. He gives it everything he's got through out the entire concert.

I just have a hard time when i realize I won't be able to see one of my favorites again.

I hope they enjoy their retirement.

Indeed - I have no yet heard any official confirmation as to the cause. This is why I'd refrain from too much speculation and judgement about details which we may yet or even never know. I'm only a layman when it comes to building and the trades, but debating things we cannot resolve seems to be the main purpose of the internet. :P

All I've garnered from reports is that the fire supposedly started in the kitchen while the adult children of the owners were visiting for Christmas. They left in the morning to go shopping in Inverness and when they came back early afternoon the fire was already under way. This could happen in almost *any* home, old and new.

Here's a photo from my anonymous photo donor, where you can see the interior of Boleskine and the complete devastation. Right to the original walls. Argh.
