  1. One of the hightlights was Robert spotting a hottie in the front row during 'How Many More Times' and shouting into the mic "Rex! Rex! Rex!" (personal assistant Rex King)

and making crazy eyes at her. I'm pretty sure Robert didn't sleep alone that night.

Another was Robert walking out for the encore holding an assortment of red, white

and blue balloons in honor of the American 4th of July holiday and releasing them

skyward where they promptly got entangled above the stage in the rafters. Robert

looked over at Jimmy and laughed.

Well, Robert has apparently had much "success" with the ladies in T.O. In a radio interview from years prior, he made repeated reference to "how wonderful he was treated by the girls from Balmoral Ave."....Hmmmm

Anyway, the highlight of the evening to me was the performance. The set list was great and Jimmy/Robert were lights out.

I'll never forget that night. Prett sure that RP has fond memories as well judging by your reference to the babe(s) in the crowd....

  2. Rough -Mix-Pete Townshend and Ronnie Lane

One of the best ever made, imo.

And Eddie Vedder with Nuskrat Ali Khan doing "The Long Road" off the Dead Man Walking soundtrack......with Ry Cooder on guitar.

This is a masterpiece that MUST be listened to...the whole soundtrack. Springsteen, Waits, Cash, Lovett, Earle(maybe the best of the disc)....WOW.

  3. Its not just a couple. I always cross at the 1000 Islands Bridge. I have relatives that are Canadien. I cant go there anymore because they tie me up for hrs at the border. Im not ruining another summer vacation by sitting in there barracks and being threatened to be taken to jail when Ive doen nothing. I even showed them my pistol permit. I said, do you think they just hand these out to anyone? You have to have a clean record to get one. They made my life a living hell the last two times I tried to get through. Ill drink Blue Moon.

Pistol permit???? You might as well have carried a kilo of coke, you would have had better success.

Canada, and to be more specific, Toronto, has seen a skyrocketing handgun crime problem and they are really trying to crack down on illegal smuggling of firearms. Whether it's misguided or not, you will not get into this country right now if you utter the words "gun". 98% of all illegal firearms used in crimes come from the States so naturally they think that all law abiding people want to ship guns into Canada.

Anyway, going to be in Rochester this summer...maybe i'll buy you a beer.

    Cheers.

  4. Why dont you talk some sense into alinds above. You at least realize there is a problem. And the american customs agent I talked to said they are being a bunch of pricks. I used to like to go to Toronto. My wife never wants to see Canada again. she is so disgusted that they treated us like criminals at the border. You can keep your damn Canadien products. Used to go there for the beer. and the clothing sales in Toronto. Not the same anymore anyway. Liked Easton center, but no worth the hassle putting up with those snobs at the border. Ill stay here and drink Blue Moon.

Once again, it works both way's so please don't let a couple of asswipe border guards keep you down. They do NOT reflect the country as a whole; they are just a couple of grumpy beauracratic minions doing injustice to our country. They get their marching orders from people who have not a clue what is happening in the real world.

Governments all over try to keep people separate and isolated, don't let it happen.

    Canadians welcome you anytime.

  5. Because of the nasty border patrols that dont want us in the country now that our dollar is not worth what it once was. There are many an acrticle and complaint about Canadien border patrol problems. And Ill tell you this. they wouldnt let me in because of a traffic violation I had over 30 yrs ago that was long ago resolved. Not even in the records here in US but they had it. The English have been much freindlier to us than the Canadiens.

That's unfortunate. I can tell you that i see multitudes of American plates in the Toronto area so somebody is getting through.

A friend of mine was refused entry in the late 80's. Like you, he had a trafic violation 10 years prior and was honest enough to tell them about it at the airport....DENIED! Before boarding our plane to beautiful Hawaii, i told him to wait for the next shift to come on and try again, BUT DON'T TELL THEM ABOUT THE VIOLATION! Next morning, we get a knock on the door in Waikiki and lo and behold, there is Ron looking like something that the cat dragged in. We had quite the party that day, let me tell ya...

ANyway, Canucks will need a passport to get into the States shortly which is outrageous. I can understand the concern with 9/11 but you see a minivan with a family of 4 going to Orlando and common sense tells you that they just want to spend money.

What is happening at the border is Governmental. The posturing of both Governments means hardship and frustration for the people who wish to travel freely. The pretense is protecting the interests of the nation but with all government issues, you will get a complete lack of common sense...as usual.

With regards to the media, who cares? They have their own agenda and it depends who you read. Like Government, there is Liberal media and Conservative media. People choose what they feel they need to hear, regardless of the fact that it's rarely accurate. I sincerely hope that the next president pay's more attention to the economic situation of the country and less attention on foreign affairs. The United States should be doing much better than they are and you have to wonder who or what is holding it back....and why.

  6. Just curious. What say the Canadien media these days about the upcoming election? After all, they have to be somewhat concerned as to who we have as a president. Our relationship has been better in my opinion and needs to return to a better place. We are neighbors and friends. But I will say that in recent yrs England has been our best friend. Not Canada.

Why is that? What has England done for you lately(exception being the support for the Iraq war)?

  7. Get Yer Ya Ya's Out is a great album.

My favorite guitar solo is the one in "Sympathy For The Devil" on Get Yer Ya Ya's Out.

There"s a great live version of "Sway" on Too Hot For Snakes, an album by Carla Olson with Mick Taylor. It has a beautiful guitar solo at the end. You keep wanting Taylor to hit this certian note and then he finally hits it. That's beautiful.

Speaking of Sway, Keef didn't even play on that track. It was the Mick and Mick show. Took me years before i realized that Jagger played rhythm guitar instread of Keef.

But it's one of my favorites anyway.... :D

  8. I more or less agree.I liked alot of the Bigger Bang cd.there were some good songs on most of what they have put out,but overall the older material is far superior.

So, is it more or is it less? Seriously, thanks for the reply. The older stuff rocks beyond belief,

    Cheers

  9. Oh, baby, its cryin time,

Oh, baby, I got to fly.

Got to try to find a way,

Got to try to get away,

cause you know I gotta get away from you, babe.

    Oh, baby, the rivers red,

    Oh, baby, in my head.

Theres a funny feelin goin on,

I dont think I can hold out long.

*and when the owls cry in the night,

Oh, baby, baby, when the pines begin to cry,

Baby, baby, baby, how do you feel?

If the river runs dry, baby,

    How do you feel?

    Craze, baby, the rainbows end,

Mmm, baby, its just a den

    For those who hide,

Who hide their love to depths of life

And ruin dreams that we all knew so, babe.

    Take it take it

    Excuse me

    Oh will you excuse me

I'm just trying to find the bridge... Has anybody seen the bridge?

    (Have you seen the bridge?)

    I ain't seen the bridge!

(Where's that confounded bridge?) [spoken by Robert Plant]

  11. those would be great additions also get Yer ya Yas out(live),Its only Rock and Roll. Some Girls,Black and Blue.Really anything with Mick Taylor you wont be sorry.

If you want Mick Taylor, don't buy anything after It's Only R&R. That being said, Black and Blue is outstanding....a funk-rock fusion with some great moments. Billy Preston is AMAZING on Melody and Hey Negrita ROCKS! Some Girls has it's moments and Tatoo You isn't bad either. After that, PFFFTTTT.
