The more I think of it I believe that was just an act, a persona. Plant started his "fey" period of stage posing and blouse wearing right when Bowie hit it big with Ziggy and the whole androgyny bit. If you look at Robert's arc as a stage performer you will see he was more a follower of trends insofar as social and fashion were concerned. First, he starts out as a hippy in sandals and t-shirts; then grows facial hair when that became the style; 72' - 75' you see the androgynous Plant; by 77' even though he still wears the blouse his stage actions and persona are considerably more masculine than 72'-75'; finally the 79'-85' stage shows Plant in varying stages of New Wave glory.
TBH I will take the foppish 73' Plant over stirrup pants / jumpsuit with massive vinyl belt and ballet shoes Plant of 85' any day. That shit he wore in 85' on stage was a goddamned crime. I believe even George Michael & Andrew Ridgely cringed a few times.
Of course the ladies feel the foppish Plant was sexy as hell so, score 1 for Plant and jack shit for me. Plant was banging groupies by the bakers dozen night after night so obviously the androgyny angle worked. Meanwhile I type this nonsense in a state of complete sexual frustration and quiet desperation. Aww screw it, Plant is a frigging genius while I am armchair quarterbacking 40 years after the fact. I am out...time to watch some low rent porn while wishing I was 73' Plant in all his foppish, vagina-hound glory.
So true; he looks so silly in the early / mid 80's. Very embarressing

Robert often came across too femanate and pretended he was this hippie free spirit on a journey, when in fact he was just sitting around hotel rooms getting stoned every night after shows. He was just too girly for me.

They didnt have Madonna open up for them in 2007.

Yeah, these companion discs are complete rubbish in my humble opinion; a money and attention grab. I understand for hardcore fans to get a glimpse of practice sessions, etc, is cool and interesting, but Page is only concern is keeping Zeppelin in the news and making money doing it without selling out to Hollywood. Page will continue to release Zeppelin material from time to time up until he dies. Its his life, and though its very sad he never moved on past the 70's, he didn't really have to!

Its a terrific LP and effort from Page, but quite embarressing and seldom discussed when U.S. ticket sales were dismal and no tour happened. Page refuses to play small halls and this is why its Page / Plant, Zeppelin or nothing.

Where's Jason? Busy making money off his dad and living in the past. Sad.

From what I know, John Bonham almost tried to kill Glen Hughes because Glen Hughes supposedly "slept" with Pat Bonham.
No. There is no truth to this whatsoever. Please research before you post

I'm thinking the estate of Randy Wolfe will begin working on their next frivolous lawsuit to be filed by the year 2050 against the Foo Fighters for what may appear to be a slight similarity to Taurus during the opening notes. Should be entertining to see a 70+ year old Dave Grohl appearing in court with his Led Zeppelin 1977 Tour of America t-shirt on.

Thank you. Yes, I've seen this pic and was wondering if it was the last known photo of Bonzo. He sure did lose a few stone. Looks so tired.......
