I'm not as big a fan as you but I agree. I never understood why they never made it bigger, had no idea of their management situation, it's soooo important.

they never made it big 'cause they came around during the whole grunge/britpop era, and since they were neither one...

I love Zep III, but it's my second favorite, because Physical Graffiti is and always will be my #1. To me, it's got everything: heavy bluesy tracks, beautiful acoustic stuff, multi-layered guitars, solo acoustic guitar, short fun tracks, long epics, the entire range. More specifically, to have one album (albeit a double one) with Kashmir, In the Light, Trampled Under Foot, Ten Years Gone, The Rover, and In My Time of Dying - wow, just wow. Hard to top that IMHO.

pg is my favorite in critical terms. but III holds a special place in my heart, and imho has more replay value. :goodpost:

  6. what is the best album by led zeppelin, (in your opinion) and why? my personal favorite is III, because of the acoustic masterpieces such as "that's the way" and "bron-y-aur stomp". thoughts?

D'yer maker is a classic. It's on the 1st box set by Jimmy for a reason. If you don't like it then you don't get it and therefore not a true fan!

dude, being a true fan doesn't mean that you need to love all of their songs. everyone is entitled to their own opinion (man, that sounded passive aggressive, lol). if you think d'yer mak'er is awesome, fine. hell, i like hats off to [roy] harper, hahaha! but that doesn't mean a true fan can't dislike some songs.

  8. i put the crunge (more like the cringe) and d'yer mak'er. livin' lovin' maid is awesome, btw. wtf? lol! also, all my love is awful. also, also, hats off to [roy] harper is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Rolling Stones, Supertramp (I know that there's no love for Supertramp. But I don't care. I love their music very very much), Style Council, Jam, Specials, Beatles, Queen (70s only), Who, Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Massive Attack and so on. I like classical and world music too.

    :stereo:

i love the jam, paul weller is such an underrated guitarist (at least, here in the U.S.)

Led Zeppelin III-always loved the acoustic songs, first Zep album I had, it has some progressive rock with Celebration day and I still think SIBLY is the best version ever if you consider everything in detail and it's my favourite Zep song, plus really lots of great melodies and choruses on the album.

    i absolutely LOVE III! :hurrah:
