  1. there's probably a million things we'd all rush into without thinking through the consequences and knock-on effects, but ..........1980 - grab hold of a doctor, grab hold of a taxi, and pull Bonzo back from the brink.

Dec. 8, 1980 - Be in NYC at the Dakota to beat the stuffing out of M.D. Chapman before he could assasinate John Lennon.

  2. There sure is some hoopla over Billy Joel playing Shea stadium tomorrow. He's added a big orchestra section to his lameass band, and promises for it to be as big as when the Beatles played there in 1965. This guy has been a thorn in my side for over 30 years. He made himself popular in this area by injecting various local town names into each song, so that Escalade driving phonies can get off on hearing their hometown mentioned repeatedly on the radio. He's so revered here, for such inspirational lyrics as "so you stay at home, and masterbate", and "they found your father, dead in the swimming pool". And who the fuck buys their paintings at Sears?

Does this guy exist outside of New York, or am I solely being tortured by him???

You mean you don't like Liberty DeVitto?

  3. Tea Party broke up a few years ago.

Jeff Martin has a solo band also with a power trio format - a new album out soon.

Jeff Burrows is a rock DJ for a radio station, and has a new band project.

Stuart does music for video games I think.

Too bad. They were a great group :(

  4. I just saw this film yesterday about Rodney Bingenheimer, the LA DJ and one time club owner of Rodney's English Disco. I had almost completely forgotten about this man, but thinking back, he has been a major player on the music scene since the mid 60's. He's rubbed shoulders with Elvis, the Beatles, Bowie and everyone in between. He had one of the hottest nightclubs on the Strip in the early 70's during the glam rock era. I remember reading reports and seeing pics in the rock mags about the outrageous parties going on. The film is very good, but it is a documentary, which turn some people off. One thing that dissapointed me, but may not be a mistake, is that there was very little mention of Led Zeppelin. Only that Robert Plant said something to the effect that "Rodney has more women than me." Which at the time, around 72-73, would've been hard to believe. I know that Zep spent a lot of time hanging around this place. I'm curious to know if anyone here had been there before it closed?

  5. wow... I expected more people then this...

I guess its just you and me, bigstick

Count me in. I grew up just outside of Detroit in the late 60's and early 70's. Although I was too young to go to the shows in 67-68, I caught quite a few Five and Stooge shows at places like the Birmingham Palladium, the Eastown Theatre and even the Grande a couple of times. You guys wanna talk about this stuff, i'm there. Just excuse me if my memory is a little fuzzy. Not only was it a very long time ago, I, like most other folks at the time, was a wee bit stoned B)
