mellowinman
I am playing with getting creative on promo information. Here are some unrelated blurbs I am trying to use to convey what I think makes this a band a venue should hire. I could use some help on this. Description We play good, solid rock going all the way back to Little Richard, and all the way up to current music, but we're not one of those confused bands. Our set lists have COHESION, and we only do songs that ROCK. We have four dynamic vocalists, and that means tight harmony, and a variety of lead vocals. We have a top notch sound system that will ensure you hear a nice clean mix that rocks you without making your ears bleed. Although for a few bucks, we can rub some glass in there, if that's the sort of thing you like. You'll have to sign a waiver. Dirty Lixx Equipment At the heart of any band's sound is its equipment. We are playing through JBL JRX125 with Dual 15 inch woofers, driven by Crown XLS 602 amps in stereo at 4 ohms, 600 watts per channel. Our board is a vintage EV BK1642 analog. Dirty Lixx features a six foot Pennzoni acrylic drum shield, for maximum control of drum sound, without overpowering the band's sound in small and medium size rooms. The entire system is designed to ensure an even mix, with vocals on top, to fill the venue with clear, clean sound, instead of trying to overwhelm with sheer volume. The JBL's have built in subwoofers, making it possible to use a full-range system. This enables us to draw less power, spend less time on set-up, and run shows without a sound person. You won't see a snake running out to a sound module out in the audience with Dirty Lixx. We can run sound from the stage, and still be sure the venue has even coverage, without dead spots and muddled tone. Dirty Lixx controls its stage volume, so the amps and drums onstage don't conflict with what is being sent out through the mains. Not only does this make for a more even sound, it virtually eliminates any potential for feedback from monitors, as there is never any need to push the volume of the stage mix. Dirty Lixx always runs in true stereo, for better sound placement within the mix, giving the room more clarity, and depth. Dirty Lixx has one electric guitar player, Arthur Mock. Arthur plays Gibson Les Pauls through a Marshall ½ stack. His only effects are a wah-wah pedal, overdrive and talk box. He is usually tuned to pitch (440,) but always has one guitar tuned down a half-step for those songs that actually require it. Dirty Lixx has two bass players, Krystal Childs and Richard Davidson, which may seem a bit unusual, but enables each of the lead singers to be able to step out front, while the other supports the rhythm section. Krystal plays an Ibanez SR700 through a custom dual 15-inch cabinet, driven by a Hartke head. Richard plays a classic Fender Jazz bass through a Fender rumble 60 combo. The fact that he can hear this relatively small bass amp is a testament to the low stage volume, as he has never had to turn it up much past halfway. Josh plays a custom built Ludwig 6-piece kit, that was built to emphasize tone. Biography Dirty Lixx has its roots in some Fort Wayne bands stretching back farther than any of us wish to talk about, and has an wide diversity of ages within the members. We mix experience with hunger; savvy with freshness. We're the best of both worlds, baby, and we have little to no shame.
