  1. I finally decided to jump on the Twilight bandwagon to see what all the hype was about. I bought the book a few weeks ago and now I'm already finished! I've also since seen the movie and want to read the next book. Yeah, I'm turning into one of those crazy fans. B)

  2. I've really been thinking about this. I really hate that I spend so much time taking care of my contacts, worrying about whether I packed an extra pair when I go on vacation, whether my glasses are in my purse, etc. I've worn glasses since I was 11, and my RX is -4.75, so I can't see much without lenses. I would be grateful if I could see well enough to take a shower without lenses--I think I may call up the doctor in town who has the best reputation (his office) and ask a few questions, or ask for literature about it because it would be well-worth it, considering my career depends on the health of my eyes, (how could an English teacher work if she couldn't see well enough to read?).

I've thought about it myself. Like you, I started wearing glasses at the same age. My contacts prescription is -6.00. I would love to be able to get up in the morning without having to reach for my glasses and all those other hassles you mentioned. Don't really have money for LASIK though.

  3. I've had 20/20 my entire life :) then around 45ish had to start wearing reading glasses.

I could never put contacts in my eyes  that would drive me insane

Lucky! My vision started deteriorating when I was 11 and wasn't able to see the chalkboard very well. Wore glasses for 3 years, then switched to contacts. At first I had a hell of a time putting them in but now that I've worn them for almost 12 years, it's like second nature. You eventually get used to it.

  4. I just finished reading Jacqueline Susann's Valley of the Dolls . It got me so hooked that I finished it in just a few days, and it was almost 450 pages long! Now I'm reading The Land of Green Plums by Herta Muller, about a group of university friends living in a Communist world. It's not an easy read, but its poetic flow of words and emotional storyline make the book very powerful.
