Hi Janet,
Yes, i absolutly love it, as it reminds me of the 78 world cup, and i can honestly say that there is not ONE song of theirs that i dont like, skip or wont play, and thats called having a love affair with the band, something that has been going on with them and me for 40 years plus.
Regards, Danny
My hat's off to you! Can't stand that song and don't know anything about the 78 world cup.

Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton is one of my favorite albums. I love John Mayall and still think that Clapton/Mayall collaboration was brilliant.
I have an ever-lasting fondness for Clapton and his work - I still catch every concert of his that I can as (like Beck) he often changes musicians and set lists. And, I've been fortunate that two of his recent concerts focused on the blues and were in (for Clapton) relatively small venues of 10,000 and less.
I was recently going through some of my own old concert photos and found one from his "comeback" tour - I had forgotten how gaunt and haggard and tenuous EC looked behind his large sunglasses (and in my photo, he is alone)...the next photo I have (from a year or two later) shows him without the glasses, looking so much more comfortable and relaxed, fit and healthy, with his shirt open. The last one (from a year or so after that) shows him looking confident and relaxed on stage. Then I found some of my photos from the ARMS concerts and Jimmy is the one who is taking the first tenuous steps back to performing live, looking gaunt, surrounded by his fellow musicians, including Eric, who is right next to him.
The sweetest recent photo I've seen of Eric is the one taken by Nettie Baker - it shows Eric, Ginger and Charlotte Martin all laughing together (although Ginger is wearing an oxygen mask).
Got out my vinyl copy of "History of Eric Clapton", purchased in 1972.
Song 2 is "Hideaway" with the Bluesbreakers
Song 3 is "Tribute to Elmore" with Jimmy Page

Wait a second. He could have purchased the master tapes for £3000, but instead he opted to pay £2600 just to copy them? (£2000 + 600 to rent the studio)
That's nuts. And kind of sad.
It sounds like he didn't want to buy them. There are inconsistencies in his story.

12/23/1972 - interesting show, although Plant's voice is a bit uneven.

First concert tonight at Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada!
Should have some videos up on Youtube by tomorrow?
Alas, the tour is not coming close to me. If I want to see it, I will need to go to NYC's Nokia Theater on November 8th. Haven't decided yet.
Edited to say: Looks like Ticketmaster has the venue in NYC as Best Buy Theater.
New name for the Nokia or is it a different venue?
I also see that they will be in Detroit on October 30th. I don't think I want to be anywhere near Detroit around Halloween. Isn't there a tradition of violence and arson in Detroit on Devil's Night, which is October 30?
What about Merrillville, IN on Oct 21 (I think?). That should be about 6 hours away from you. Of course, it's not New York...

If you liked that, try this one on for size. Please let me know what you think, and be honest.
I didn't like this one as well; it seemed like any other generic heavy metal song. I also found the video annoying.

Try this. Fucked Up are one of the most talked about bands playing Hopscotch next weekend. Punk rock really isn't my thing but I'd still like to check out their set.
Thanks, I liked that one a lot!

Thanks for recommending the Black Angels, I'm afraid most of the other music on the past few pages is a bit too mellow for me.

Wish I could have seen Soundgarden and Wolfmother at Lallapolooza tonight, instead I saw Spoon and Phoenix last night with my daughter. Spoon is OK and Phoenix put on a good show but they are very one-dimensional. I also realized that if you're not really into the music, it's alot harder to ignore the obnoxious drunk teenagers vomiting and behaving badly!

Has anyone read Led Zeppelin IV, by Erik Davis? It is mentioned here: http://professorofpop.blogspot.com/2010/08/led-zeppelin-of-gods-and-ghosts-and.html
This Andrew Goodwin is also writing a book about Zeppelin.

Been watching the White Sox play in Seattle the past few nights. They play "Communication Breakdown" every time Casey Kotchman comes up to bat. Even if I'm in another room, those chords ring out.

I can't believe how many people don't like Black Mountainside!
My least favorites are
LZ I: Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
LZ II: Thank You
LZIII: Out on the Tiles
Untitled: None, they are all awesome
HOTH: No Quarter (You're not the only one MMaharaja, although live versions are much better)
PG: Boogie with Stu
Presence: Royal Orleans
ITTOD: Fool in the Rain

Look how far down the list they have LZ...of course no suprise to me
Judging by the artists on the cover they must mean the 500 greatest songs since 1955, then on the back cover they talk about "Rock's Classic Songs". Do they include Madonna, Aretha and Beyonce as rock artists or are they just giving us their opinions?
What drivel!

My son married a wonderful woman yesterday. We danced all night. Someone requested "Black Dog" and my son, groomsmen and I all played air guitar and screamed along.
Great day!
