The suit in the V&A seems to be a work in progress, it has the Eye in the Triangle & the Stele of Revealing
on the back, with tulips(maybe)! on the collars. Designed for the 1975 tour.
Yes that's the one, I don't know if he ever wore it. I won't make any comment about the birthday suit however.

Johnny Depp to Direct Keith Richards Documentary
I couldn't think of anyone better to do the first "official" documentary on the life of Keith Richards than Johnny Depp. As a lifelong 'Stones fan, much like Depp, Richard's life is so intriguing to me. The founding member and co-writer of all the major hits, has had a unique life. One filled with some very interesting tales ranging from how he got into music, his drug abuse to the Rolling Stones being exiled in Paris after tax problems created by a scrupulous manager.
There is so much to tackle in Richards 40+ years as one of the front men of possibly the greatest Rock n 'Roll band ever. Variety confirms the story which was reported earlier by a Serbian magazine. They say that Depp would begin work on the documentary next week. Depp and Richards have been friends for over a decade leading to Richards appearance in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, portraying Captain Jack Sparrow's father. This was also due Richards being an inspiration in Depp's portrayal of the character.
Depp's last directorial outing was The Brave, a 1997 film that starred Marlon Brando. It wasn't clear when the film was planned for release.
What kind of tax problems are created by a "scrupulous" manager?

I was listening to the local NPR radio station at work and there was an interview with the singer from the 70's group The Ides of March. I think his name was Jim Peterik. He talked about appearing with Zeppelin in Winnipeg in 1970 and blowing them away. The interviewer, who seemed to be a huge closet Zep fan, asked how that happened. Jim said he didn't know, Zep must have had an off day.

Yes I just bought my copy of Mojo today at B&N.
-
I checked two places yesterday locally and no luck. Hopefully it will be out next week sometime!
Hi Led Zep Gurl-
Are you in the Chicago area? I checked a Borders in Chicago last Thursday - no luck!
-
Thanks Steve for that clip.

Has anyone in the States found the Feb. issue of MOJO yet on the shelves to buy? Just curious, I have been looking for it for about 2-3 weeks now with no luck! I can't wait to get a copy of it!
I haven't found it yet either. I've got it on order from a local music store. They say it is "temporarily unavailable".

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but does anyone know which songs Jimmy Page wrote lyrics for besides Tangerine?

Hello Janet!
I have not starting reading this one yet. I am close to a complete read of Cross's -Shadows Taller Than Our Souls. As soon as I am done with that one I will start on this one and get back to you.
Thanks i look forward to hearing Your opinion.
I'm typing this on an iPod so excuse the spelling.
I am in New York, just saw the building on the Cover of physical Graffiti today!
Very cool!

I haven't read Wall's book, is it really all about the scandals and very little about the music? If so, I appreciate the reviewers point in the last two paragraphs, but why does he bring up the same old stories again? Is it me or are we becoming more prudish?

Happy Solstice everyone!

Thanks for posting this picture although I think it deserves a new topic: Craziest clothes ever worn by JPJ.

I see now it's being marketed as something "new" but as the trailer shows this dvd is little more than a rehash of tv and bootleg footage previously released elsewhere. I must say it irks me when documentarians get it wrong - the "voice of
11 year old Jimmy Page" in the trailer is the voice of 14 year old Jimmy Page taken from his appearance on the b&w BBC television program 'All Your Own' with host Huw Wheldon that originally aired April 4, 1958.
Thanks Steve and Cerisaye for the quick replies-
Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of second-rate material out there.

Hi Steve-
Do you know anything about a documentary about Led Zeppelin called "Dazed and Confused"?
-
I heard a caller on the PBS show "Car Talk" say her fussy baby would always stop crying if she played "Communication Breakdown" in the car. She said there was something about the initial chords that mesmerized the kid.

I read somewhere that Capricorn people value opulent living. They view the finer things in life as being part of the rewards brought by the achievement earned as a result of their hard work, although recognition by others is still the main interest for them.
We Capricorns tend to value things by how much we spend (money, time, etc.) on them. I used to think everyone thought this way but my daughter claims that this is not the case.

I still think he enrolled in autumn 1962 and quit at the end of 1963 (or close). I think we need to dedicate a thread to this question, so that we can weigh all the different arguments. I'll make one soon and try to argue my case.
Hi-
I am reading a book called "The First Time We Met the Blues", by David Williams, who is a childhood friend of Page.
Williams recounts attending an "American Folk-Blues Festival" in Manchester September of 1962 with some friends, including Page, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Brian Jones. Williams states that Page had to take the train and meet them there as he had a gig with Neil Christian the night before. He also states that Page subsequently left Christian's band and started art school. It's not clear if this was in late 1962 or early 1963.

I used to love them. I talked my brother into taking me to see them when I was probably around 12 or 13 years old. My parents would never have let me go to a rock concert otherwise.
Funny thing is, my neighbor used to love Zeppelin and whenever he used to blast it, I would blast CTA back at him.
