  1. I've got the deluxe edition too, it's a nice two disc album and the live stuff is great.

Who's Next is the album that made them go from big to HUGE in the US.

Awesome! :D Now, I am really looking forward to checking the whole thing out! :D And you're right about one thing...they do sound pretty arena rockish, but I guess that's a pretty good thing! Oh boy! So much to process in one night! And I think I'm going to check out their earlier stuff too but not all in one night because then I'll become slightly crazy and besides, my poor ipod will have so much to sync in! LOL!

  2. Well, that documentary was all about the making of the album "Who's Next" and there were a couple of details about the abandoned "Lifehouse" project....with what little preview I got of all the songs, I really loved what I heard! I can now safely say this : "That album is going into my ipod tonight baby!!!" :D And "Won't Be Fooled Again" seems to be quite the anthem and the song "My Wife" IMO, seems to have this sort of jazzy twist to it! Interesting and really cool stuff! :D

As luck would have it, I just discovered that my dad has the deluxe edition of "Who's Next". There are 2 discs basically. The first contains the original album and something called "New York Record Plant Session" (15 tracks in total). The second disc contains something called "The Young Vic - Live" (14 tracks in total). Cool huh?! B)

  3. Anyway, getting back to the topic :

I just found out through my TV guide (which arrived today, by the way), that "The Documentary Channel" is airing a documentary called "Rock Royalty : The Who" at 9:30 pm (NZ Time), which is in exactly 1 and a half hours time! Woohoo! Can't wait! :yay:

  4. Just because millions of flies eat shit, it doesn't mean I'll have to do it, right?!

LOL! This is exactly the kind of question I ask some pests at my Uni who wrinkle their noses and look down on me on purpose just because I ain't into certain mainstream bands like Muse, Kings of Leon and Maroon 5! Sheesh!:lol:

  5. Jethro Tull is very good. Ian Anderson is the leader and sings and plays the flute better than anyone has ever played a flute. The album with Aqualung is the best. That is his biggest song. But his greatest hits album is good. Songs like skating away and such. Thankis for the complimnet.

    You're very welcome! I'm just stating a fact! :)

Aqualung has been in my dad's collection for years...he has always admired that album! I guess that's a good place to start then! :D

  6. No it's not. Stop it. You're smart enough I would hope, to know better than to say something that ridiculous.

    This is getting embarrassing.

LOL! Electro! Relax! I didn't mean to say that all mainstream stuff is bad! Whoops! I guess my post needs a bit of editing! LOL!...I do love bands like "Daughtry", "Evanescence", "We Are The Fallen" and HIM. They are pretty mainstream to me :D ...and don't laugh but I do like a dash of "Tokio Hotel" too...the lead singer looks a bit strange but they do sound good on some songs though!

And oh, I am really diggin' the underground music scence too! ;)

  7. Stick with me kid and you are in good hands. Go take a look at the 8mm footage from May 30th 1977. I was there. I have been to so many concerts I have lost count. The best and the most relevant was that one. Seeing Led Zeppelin. But seeing the Who twice wasnt bad either. You are all right. I added you to my friends list if you dont mind? Rick

You're a pretty awesome guy Rick! :D It sure must have been a blast seeing Led Zep and The Who live in concert countless number of times during the glory days! B) I guess after seeing all these legendary bands in concert while they were at their prime, I really don't blame you for saying that some of the "mainstream" stuff being produced today is crap! ;) And thanks for the friend request! I, to be honest, regard you as one of the quality posters around here! :D

    P.S

What about Jethro Tull? Are they any good?

  8. Listen to Who's Next. Wont get fooled again, Behind Blue Eyes, Teenage wasteland (Baba Oreilly) and Ill tell you its on the top five of all time list. It is a great album and so too are Quadrophenia and Tommy. Great great albums. Who are you is good too, but the old stuff is better. The Who to me is in the top four of all time category. Zeppelin, Who, Beatles, Stones, and then Floyd and Eagles. It would not be right though for them to play without Entshistle. Takiing him and Moon away is even more of a loss to that band than Bonzo for Led Zeppelin. Because they lost two great great musicians. I have Entwistle tied with JPJ as the top two bass players in rock history. Sorry Paul. And Moon is clearly the second best drummer. By far and away.

Wow! Thanks for the recommendations! :) I'm going to check it out in the order that you mentioned! :D I listened to the song "My Generation" last night on a music channel (I think it was Juice TV or something) which airs classic rock songs late at night...I liked what I heard to be honest and since my tastes in music are really similar to my dad's (when it comes to classic rock that is), I'm pretty sure that The Who is going to become another one of my favourite bands! :D

  9. Anyway, getting back to the topic

Here's a song by The Beatles which I found to be pretty silly! :P

I do hope that this thread doesn't turn out to be full of fights and arguments like some of the others because that was not what it was created for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do get a kick out of the lyrics! :P But such a strange addition to such an awesome album like "Abbey Road" though!

  10. Ummmm... Disney channel?

Excuse me for being 13, but I still watch a couple shows on Disney channel.

-So, anywhom, I was reading some Stephen King book the other day and looked up at the TV for a moment, and this commercial came on, and one of the kids on one of the shows was wearing a Led Zeppelin United States 77' tour t-shirt.

    (Run-on sentence FTW)

-I don't remember exactly what it said, but some one said something like, "I can burp Stairway to Heaven all the way through" (lovely), and then someone else said, "But that's a 10 minute song!" On this same show, the doors seemed to be labeled with the Led Zeppelin font. Or whatever you'd call it.

Its really nice to see that the music of Led Zep is reaching out and touching the hearts of the younger generations! :D
