  1. 6-23-77, the Millard Source, version without patches from other sources. Planning to listen to the 25th and 27th later tonight when winding down.

I believe these Millard discs I have are the ones that all claim to be "1st gens" and are the best for the LA 77 run MM recordings.

Millard did such a good job, its a shame the bootleggers added such an enormous amount of shrill nasty high end.

  2. Thank You, from an (stereo) old boot of BBC '71

-my remaster (which I call the JPJ Mix)

IT WAS a SIN to mix the ORGAN LOW on Thank You. I understand he wanted the drums louder, but hearing JPJ's Leslie kick in on fast at 3:40 to the end of Jimmy's solo is SPINE TINGLING. Climax- Goose bump moment, every time. Those hammonds w/ Leslies are classic.

  3. since i have a little free time, I am going to ride through the worst (possible) part of town i can find (to get to know my area better as I am in Real Estate), and plan on listening to some heavy 1977 live tracks. Like the one above is a likely candidate. Maybe the 5-30-77 gig. I just want to know the area better anyways, since I live here and plan on staying. Not that my sales will increase, I just care about clients and don't BS people.

  4. 5/25/77

    5/26/77

    5/28/77

    5/30/77

-Having some fun making a show out of each shows best performances. Might even throw a cut to another show mid-song in there! Might as well make this run (more) impressive to friends. The sound quality is good and the same for each release with some EQ.

These shows are actually pretty damn good. Especially the last one.

  5. While I'm not in my usual whiskey stupor (apologies), heres a question. Pittsburgh '73. Why were two 16mm's rolling, how much is supposed to exist, and any ideas or guesses where it went? Heres a screenshot from a clip from a menu on DVD- http://www.ledzeppelin.com/photos/led-zeppelin/1972-1973/pittsburgh-1973-0. It is obviously 16mm. Now, see the guy on the right of the stage, stage left, kneeling and holding a camera? Exactly where the other video clip was filmed from?

What are the chances, if it was just brief segments, that two 16mm cameras were rolling at the same time? (No screens there AFAIK in 73)

  6. Aerosmith in Houston a month after Led Zeppelin, two consecutive nights filmed. No on-stage cameras, from similar angles as above. Now, I don't know if Aerosmith had this gig filmed for themselves....that needs to be researched. If not, this might be the strongest "evidence" that it's remotely possible.

Edit: the freeze frame/slow motion in between songs is reminiscent of the Seattle video that was used for the projection screens. Having said that, maybe Aerosmith did have the screens in use.

speaking of, last year, I posted a video from houston of P Funk or some funk band from Houston in 78 or 79 and it had the same freeze frame between songs. There ya go. Fuel for the locomotive.Which is a good thing.

  7. Case 2: Landover 77. I recently came across a recording of Heart in 78 at the Cap Centre. MY POINT, again, bc no-one got it before, I guess ???, is LOOK at where the cameras were located based on the camera angles. It is likely in house cameras. They were all in different locations back then, at different spots, lets say, at the kingdome, than the cap centre.

-does this mean to YOU that video recordings of landover 77 are still possible? If so, provide photos that rule out screens, in boxes or from above, or that show where the cameras were located at this show. (BTW the cap centre and pontiac videos are all awesome to me bc i know it is how ZEPs videos COULD *at least* look)

  8. This recent Oakland footage shows evidence. I don't see large screens and haven't heard they were there from reliable sources, so it could be PROOF i guess.

-on the new footage, look at the guys at the left hand side of the stage behind the stonehenge wall, on the edge of the stage that can be seen. STAGE RIGHT. (7m.17seconds in). ready for this one? look at (around 7m.25seconds in) the guy in front of the stage aiming something with a handle on the back of it. In front of where the wall for the audience is. The pit, if you will.

how is that not good enough? I've thought this for like 10 years. Look at the FRAMPTON "Do You Feel Like I do" footage and TELL ME WHERE THOSE CAMERAMEN ARE LOCATED. Jeez.
