Beds are burning - Midnight Oil

ECM fans (if any exist here) might recongize this, Gateway...........
While he's not ECM, I'm mostly into Scandinavian jazz. Svein Olav Herstad is a great musician, a few months ago I ordered one of his albums, since this is only available in Norway it was really expensive but the folks running the music label responded to my emails and were really kind, furthermore, I send Olav Herstad a friend request on Facebook and he accepted it. I'm still trying to obtain of all his CDs. On this one I recommend the song "Alto Acres".
Jazz Pa Svenska is a classic album in Swedish jazz, I still haven't found a (reasonably priced) copy of this but I know I'll order it sooner of later.
There's also the Esbjorn Svensson Trio which combines rock and jazz music into an exquisite blend.

Would be nice if you told us the outcome of this, and if we can ever get a chance to appreciate your work. Wish you good luck as well.

Unfortunately copyright puts a drain on creativity these days. I suggest you use another song in the public domain (try Creative Commons) is Kashmir really necessary? On the other hand, if Zeppelin people browse this forum they can contact you with a solution, if they like the film.

The greatest hard rock album of all time was released 37 years ago today... February 24th 1975. Also the greatest double album of all time... It is also the same day and year my wonderful Grandmother passed away.

"Heart is also prepping a rarities-packed box set — including tracks that didn’t appear on the band’s major label rleeases — as well as a new biography, and a new string of live dates".

Yes, I have seen this...several times, in fact. I didn't find it boring in the least. But then, I also like 2001: A Space Odyssey and Barry Lyndon, two other films with deliberate pacing that take their time.
If you find that sort of thing "boring", then I suppose you'll be inclined to find Solaris boring. It's a Tarkovsky film...he's interested in making art, not a video game, so a little patience, attention and thought is required when watching his movies.
As usual, the American remake with George Clooney is not as good as the original.
I'm mostly into Zvynguitzev (he has been compared to Tarkovsky) in fact I have all of his movies, The Banishment builds a lot of tension. I have no patience with Tarkovsky, and no intention to watch Clooney

Has anybody seen this?
I've avoided watching it because of reviews where they say it's total boredom and it takes ages between one scene and the next... but now a friend has recommended it, saying he was impressed. Any thoughts?

Jelena...
I like the name actually
Very nice to pronounce and to hear
If I had a daughter I'd call her Jelena, I think.

Someone thought highly of it...
Mojo Magazine (May 1998)
Excellent, thanks for posting this! You know personally I think Clarksdale is better than anything Jimmy Page has done after Led Zeppelin.

I'm happy to find other people who are familiar with Esbjorn Svensson His death was really tragic at a high point in his career and when the band was really creative and prolific. They put some weird names to their songs like "Don't cuddle that crazy cat" or "what did you buy today". This one below is called "Dodge the Dodo".
