Misty Mountain. I remember the morning in my room. I played that song 1000 times that week.
When those drums come in it still gives me chills.
What's yours?

This performance , which bests 5/24, proved to me what a fantastic vocalist Robert is. This second vocal break at the end where he just pushes himself to the brink adding some soul and deep blues phrasing. After 4 1/2. 3 hr shows and his voice not exactly in top form how he musters this up is simply amazing. . Along with a smile at the end...
Cant seem to get footage on here ..whoever can...a big thanks.
I like this ☝️guy! And I approve this message.
And I truly love when Plant drives his voice to the brink (great description).

It’s just some slapback echo effects, used to thicken vocals and make them sound fatter and more “exciting”
Thanks Congo

Wondering if any studio people would be able to tell me what that killer effect is that the soundboard guy(I guess) adds on top of Plant's voice when he kicks it up a notch during songs like Black Country Woman and Ten Years Gone?
Black Country Woman, when he sings "You didn't have to tell me that you love me so. You didn't have to leeeeeeeave me mama, let me go" The Destroyer bootleg was the first time I had heard him do this and played it over and over again. Hell I still do. But after years of searching I think, for me, the definite version of this is from LA 77-06-21. The Graf remaster is killer and Plant sings these lines with all his heart and soul. Nice melodic twists to them as well.
He uses this effect also in 77 during Ten Years Gone when he sings "Did you ever really need somebody, an really need em bad........." LOVE IT!!!!!
I think he also uses it a few times at Knebworth. It kicks in and then as quick as that his voice is back to what it was.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The bass high in the mix and so thumping. LOVE IT!!!!

Thanks for the reminder. Haven't listened to this show in awhile. Wow, just wow.
And hey Jimmy if you are sitting on the SB of this show, come on brother, please.

Timing like a drum machine. Basic. Backs the other boys perfectly. Wouldn't change a thing.
The bass player, well he could leave the Low E root not every once in awhile.........

Page's tone on this is pure f'ing gold!

I'm no expert but I've never read, heard, or even fallen over in the street any reference to the band performing Free's 'Heartbreaker', good luck in that search.
Agree. But let us know if you find something.

Thanks for the heads-up. Amazing news.

Also, just watched a Bad Company documentary last night... Bad Co opening for Zep would have been AWESOME!
I'd take Free but Bad Co is a close second. Nice choice.

Canned Heat opening for The Rolling Stones at a small venue like the Whiskey or Troubadour, during any of the years Mick Taylor was with the Stones.
The bluray of The Stones at the Marquee club is soooooo good. Love the Mick Taylor years. Man did his playing flow.

Just listened to 2 '75 versions and I hear him singing;
Where I beeeeeeennnnnnnn.
Pretty clear actually.

Damn Starship thanks so much for this. Never even knew this site existed. I have just been listening to outtakes of In the Light and Ten Years Gone. Man oh man this site is gold!
Yeah like I need more Zeppelin bootlegs....... 😳😎😜
Much appreciated my friend.

Hey Steve, damn my friend you have another winner here. A stunning listen!
Thanks so much for your hard work.

Okay, great question and topic. I just listened to the tune 10 times (10 glorious times).
I do have several Zep books and one of them talks about "Delilah" ex "Tryin to save my soul Deli.......(lah)"
I clearly hear "delight" in those few places. Also "How to kick that gong delight".
I also hear "Devil he TAUGHT me" not told me.
Of course all this is coming from my 55 year old ears that have played wayyyyyyy too much electric guitar and listened to way too much loud music.
Great topic and I would love to hear what others hear. What a tune!!!!!!!!!!

For anyone who hasn't heard Steve's stuff, run to get it!

Oh hell yeah! Many thanks to all involved with this.

Just had to start a thread for my new obsession, Steve's remaster of 1975-05-25 Earl's Court. This is a masterpiece of Zeppelin's power and talent and loose-jamming and Steve's talent as a remasterer (is that a word?).
For me this is the very definition of Zeppelin. And the sound is stunning!!!!!! Check out No Quarter for the sound and the jamming. Mind-blowing.
Hey Steve, thanks brother. You did well my friend.
