I can't really describe why, it's just they're the only other band besides Zep that actually clicks with me in personal (although very different) way. I love all their songs, and the fact Kurt's voice isn't perfect lets me know it's his real talent, and I love him even more for it. He was an excellent guitarist, and he definitely knew how to compose a good song. Dave Grohl's drumming is just soo badass, and Krist's bassplaying is very funky, especially for an Aberdeen (not Seattle!) grunge band.
My favourite songs are:
01)Big Long Now
02)You Know You're Right
03)School
04)Sliver
05)Milk It06)Dive
07)Radio Friendly Unit Shifter
08)Come As You Are
09)Aneurysm
10)Scentless Apprentice
11)Rape MeNice timeline Sue!
What makes them your 2nd fav group? For me, Nirvana and Pearl Jam were too overplayed back in the early mid-90's and I never regained my enthusiasm for their music. Their "Unplugged" disc is my favorite. I do still enjoy listening to "Frances Farmer...", "Breed", "About A Girl", "Scentless Apprentice" and many more - just don't come to mind when deciding to throw something into the car and drive around to.

Ah. Now that I know, I'll try to hunt down which show that is.

That can't be '79 though. Different clothes, and he doesn't look nearly haggard enough.

Yes, you did!
I was also surprised to see the 1980 rehearsal version up here as well. (Kudos Mr. Carruthers!)
Don't get cynical - there's no such thing as too much Sue! Quick...somebody say something UNPREDICTABLE!!!
To be honest, it would be hard NOT to mention the O2 version...but I already did my part with the Page Plant selection, didn't I?

TBH, as soon as I saw this thread's title, I knew it was going to be mostly the usual posts about how great the Knebworth and O2 versions are. Perhaps I stay on this forum a bit too much?

Either 1977/06/25, 1977/06/11, or 1980/06/30. Honorable mention to 1975/03/21.

Whole Lotta Love/Black Dog 1975/03/17. The "The Crunge" jam is so damn funky here! I could dance to this all day!
