  3. In the UK , we would reckonise Plant's " Black Country Twang " from the area in the midlands he comes from ,sometimes its stronger than others
  4. Sorry I forgot these ( some may say on purpose ) BLACK " FOOKIN " LACE http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&hl=en-GB&v=5grN83P-jC4 Black Lace http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Lace_(band)
  5. The Live-Aid concerts from 1985 were celebarted 20 years with a second series of concerts.with funds going back to the original charities shame we did get The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert 2 (20 years) with all proceeds going to AIDS research ,There are plenty new /or artists that did not appear at the first gig who could have appeared .
  6. Could The Clash tour without Joe Strummer ? For years (uptil Harrisons death) The Beatles were supposed to be reforming with various replacements for Lennon Im surprised that theres been no mention of a possible Clash reunion with Strummer replacement ,they were asked to reform a few times when he was alive.unlike Lennon his death put an end to reunion rumours. mick jones and topper headon of the clash play together at a carbon/silicon gig Former Clash stars Mick Jones and Paul Simonon have revived their punk partnership by recording together for the first time in almost 30 years.in the gorillaz HOW about Tim Armstrong , Billie Joe Armstrong ,Elvis Costello or Bruce Springsteen as a stand in ? Maybe they could do a Queen style tribute gig with different guest vocals on different songs
  7. Is anyone annoyed by reducing into a small window &/or talking over the credits on tv shows or films ? I know they all do it , but i find iratating , Its both an insult to tv show producers ,they people who worked on the show and the person/s who wrote &/0r performed the piece of music in question. I love Frasier , but everytime Channel 4 show it they get someone to talk over the theme tune at the end , Which i more iratating than informative. In the Uk ,the bbc has a show called "white van man" every week they end on a different tune , ie AC/DC, Motorhead, the specials , madness etc etc ,but they talk over them , many new viewers may not have heard the song in question. BBC'S " Royle Family " had a rare Oasis song " Half The World Away" every week ruined by voice overs. All channels seemed to do it at the end of films , again sometimes a chance to hear music for the first time or rare music. I just wish they'd all stop it.I have not met anyone who likes talking over credits.
  8. I have not seen Rush since " Hold Your Fire " tour 87 ? 88 ? .They played Sheffield ,but i missed it
  9. That boy’s as timid as a canary at a cat show I say ( ISAY ISAY ) Just love Foghorn leghorn but TV stations in the UK don't show them any more , WA have not released an official region 2 DVD either Foghorn Leghorn is just timeless They don't show Bilko anymore either
  10. Ronnie Wood said in recent book that the rest of Led Zep minus Page asked him to join them don't let the truth get in the way of a good story . Page fancied Steve Winwood , Steve Marriott or Terry Reid on vocals , bass could have been Chris Dreja ,Ian Hunter supposedly was asked to play bass , BJ Wilson on drums , Keith Emerson on keyboards Pre- ZEP during recording Beck's Bolero Page wanted to form a supergroup with him and Jeff Beck on guitars, and The Who's Keith Moon and John Entwistle on drums and bass. Vocalists Steve Winwood and Steve Marriott were also considered for the project

  12. I've been told that in the USA if an act as less than 1 original member in its line-up ,then its no LONGER considered that act ,but a tribute. acts that have played live &/or recorded new material without original members like Thin Lizzy , DR feelgood & The Sugababes would all be considered tributes Some bands have got members that have been solo original members in every line-up of multi line-up groups Ian Paice - Deep Purple , Tony Iommi -Black Sabbath ,Chris Squire -Yes , Ritchire Blackmore -Rainbow , David Coverdale- Whitesnake ,Rober Smith -The Cure ,MARK "E"SMITH -The Fall .Nick Mason -Pink Floyd Mick Fleetwood -Fleetwood Mac ,John Lydon -PIL ,Dave Brock -HAWKWIND ,Angus Young -AC/DC Before you ask AC/DC did a tour without Malcolm Young , John McVie was not in Fleetwood mac for the first 6 months.
  13. Does anyone remember laughter ? This was an April fool 2009 story post by Bjork herself on her own website http://www.spin.com/articles/led-zeppelins-new-singer-bjork Bjork: In a website post this morning( 1 april 2009), the Icelandic singer announced she would step in for Robert Plant as vocalist for Led Zeppelin's world tour. But she has a few demands: The band only play songs from album I and IV, including classics like ??"Good Times Bad Times," "Dazed and Confused," and "Stairway to Heaven." Other more serious contenders mentioned at the time http://www.spin.com/articles/should-led-zeppelin-reunite
  14. They did a sort of reunion with Steve Martin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZAPJbq3ch4
  15. Its the first the original line-up will have played together for 30 years
  16. Have you seen the" five guys walked into a bar" box set ?
  17. Interesting Lydon always slagged off Led Zep publibly ,when he was asked wether hed seen " The song remains the same the same " , he said he fell asleep half way through ,he supposed to have made some sarcastic ramark towards Plant when they met ,the next thing hes formed PIL and is asking Plant for the lyrics to Kashmir But he wore a I hate Pink Floyd t-shirt , now he claims it was a joke
  18. The least zep could have done was had " hey hey what i can do " to led zep 3 cd and add all the remastered boxset bonus tracks added to the remastered coda whisky from a glass should have been on the uk version of walking into clarksdale

  20. The P.I.L reformed their later line-ups and released a new album ,Levine and wabble from the original line-up also released an album Lydon always seems to be ambigous about a new Sex Pistols album , saying its more limiting than recording an P.I.L one. I wonder if the reunion of P.I.L means the end of THE Sex Pistols reunions ?
  21. Is Tight But Loose the best Led Zeppelin information service? http://www.tightbutloose.co.uk/tblweb09/ Dave Lewis' long-running Led Zeppelin fanzine. Includes news on the band and ordering information.
