  1. I think it's amazing in it's own way. For the casual Zep fan my guess is that this wouldn't have been a favorite, but for the ones that actually pay attencion to the music, they'll find out that the songs are very smart and don't lack anything. I do agree that someone butchered Bonzos drums, they sound very small compared to thos solo tracks on youtube. Maybe Jimmy will work some magic in the new releases :D

According to Page, they liked ABBA's Polar Studios

  2. ^ This is probably his most underrated song. It's a great guitar song and Roy Buchanan did an instrumental version that was as good as the original.

    The Bomber!

Yes, he made this song while with James Gang.

  3. The state of two members (Bonham & Page) during the making of In Through The Outdoor was far from good - Bonham with his heroin & alcohol problems/Page with his heroin use - so under these circumstances, yes, In Through The Outdoor was good, though different.

Carouselambra alone is worth the purchase. I believe it's the strongest tune on the album.

In The Evening was a piece you could expect Led Zeppelin to make, as was I'm Gonna Crawl (my second favorite from this release).

Jones and Plant became very close during these sessions. Jones stated that during this time there were two distinct camps - the sober one and the alcohol/drug one. I think Jones & Plant working so close together was vital moving forward. The two gave us South Bound Suarez, Fool In The Rain, and All My Love - the latter not being liked by Jimmy Page, although he had respect for it's meaning.

As a whole, this may not have been the usual great Led Zeppelin record everyone became accustomed to, but under the circumstances, it was strong.

  4. The publisher went overboard with photo editing software, resulting in what could be worst Led Zeppelin magazine cover of all-time.

Very disappointed in Guitar World given the unfettered access to Jimmy they have enjoyed for so many years.

LOL - It's a damn magazine cover. Are you that worried about how much make-up they have during that photo shoot? If your worried about that, then worry about the covers in the past that showed a heroin infested Jimmy Page.

    It's an F'n magazine cover - who F'n cares?

    Get a life!

  5. New Orleans, Louisianna - May 14, 1973 - soundboard

The musicianship Led Zeppelin displayed on this European tour of 1973 was breathtaking! Dazed & Confused and Whole Lotta Love were outstanding throughout the tour. It's too bad Led Zeppelin didn't perform these two songs with the same intensity on the upcoming US tour as they did here!

    Southampton, England - January 22, 1973 - soundboard

    Vienna, Austria - March 16, 1973 - soundboard

    Hamburg, Germany - March 21, 1973 - soundboard

    Essen, Germany - March 22, 1973 - soundboard

Vancouver, BC - March 21, 1970 - soundboard - Heartbreaker & Thank You are excellent!

Dallas, Texas - August 31, 1969 - The whole show is great, especially How Many More Times!

All these soundboard shows from 1975 are very good!

    New York, NY - February 12, 1975

    Hempstead, NY - February 14, 1975

    St. Louis, MO. - February 16, 1975

    Baton Rouge, LA. - February 28, 1975

    Dallas, Tx. - March 4, 1975

    Dallas, Tx. - March 5, 1975

    Long Beach, CA. - March 11, 1975

    Long Beach, CA. - March 12, 1975

    Seattle, WA. - March 17, 1975

    Vancouver, Canada - March 19, 1975

    Vancouver, Canada - March 20, 1975

    Seattle, WA. - March 21, 1975

And all the Los Angeles shows from the 24, 25 & 27 of March 1975

Yes, I've been listening to all of these!

  6. Led Zeppelin had excellent songs to open albums with. They paid attention to the running order of all their albums. Rock N Roll would have been a better choice to open their fourth album.

My choice - The Song Remains The Same - It hits hard and doesn't stop. Like all others, the musicianship is incredible.

Achilles Last Stand is a close second.

  7. Rock N Roll, Sick Again, Over The Hills And Far Away, In My Time Of Dying, & The Song Remains The Same from March 4, 1975 - Chasing The Dragon bootleg

This may be the best versions of Over The Hills And Far Away & In My Time Of Dying. John Bonham's playing is impeccable. The solo in Over The Hills And Far Away may be Page's best for that particular song.

Heartbreaker & Thank You from March 21, 1970 - Vancouver. These are my favorite versions. The way Bonham plays off Page is breathtaking!

How Many More Times from The Texas International Pop Festival - August 31, 1969.
