Here's one from the last show they did as a working band.
This one's for all the road crew...because without you we would have had to have somebody else.

Calm down. How do you know Maid was about a groupie? It could have been about a girlfriend, a next door neighbor or a landlord for all you know.
Under My Thumb ties in first place with Maid. Thumb disturbs me, too.
No it's about an over the hill groupie.

If these girls have no respect for themselves why should you expect the band to have respect for them? You realise that these people were hangers on looking for benefits from being near rock stars - hardly a pure and worthy existence.
Have a listen to the Stones 'Under My Thumb' and get back to me about this being the most sexist song.
Or Starfucker.

Robert Plant sang it a few times. So I wouldn't say the band didn't like it. It was more Jimmy didn't like it.
-
It's about someone he didn't like.

There's always been word or whatever that Jeff Beck didn't like that Led Zeppelin basically did You Shook Me after the Jeff Beck Group did it. But Jimmy was trying to copy what most of the big groups did at that time. But Led Zeppelin endured because they broke out of just being a blues band and went into other styles and basically changed the definition of what Led Zeppelin was from album to album. They got out of those primitive stages, Jeff Beck Group didn't and they didn't last.

Big Brown wins.
Eight Belles finished second then she gets put down after breaking both front ankles during the race.

Definitely not "hellhound" on the album version.
-
In live versions he would sing it like the printed version sometimes or he would sing something completely different.
-
They did it for a friend if I remember right.
It was a short set and Robert Plant sat on a chair for the entire show because he couldn't stand.
-
I think he changes it to All my cheating or all my children. But I haven't listened to the studio version in a while

I'm sure this topic has already been discussed before, but it's not on the first page from what I can see. That's good enough for me.
What are your favorite Plant lines between or during songs?
From New York of 1975
"We ended up in a lot of strange places places in the world with a lot of strange people. Some good strange, some weird strange. But in the end we found, to cut a long, long story short. That there's a guy selling t-shirts there... that the Song Remains the Same."

The Crunge and Hot Dog are my two choices for worst Led Zep music. I've never understood these songs. It's kinda like the Beatles "Number 9" song. They're not good.
The Crunge is a dig on James Brown musically and a little lyrically. Especially about the Bridge.
It's a fun song to listen to and one of my favorite Zepp songs.
Hot Dog is basically Zeppelin making fun of country. I love the humor sometimes shown with the band in songs. They took their music seriously don't get me wrong but they also put a little sarcasm in their songs and kinda made fun of those genres while respecting them at the same time.

Sea of Love has a great Jimmy solo also.

Johnny Cash's best cover is Hurt. Even if it was overplayed it's a great cover.
The best cover song ever is probably Respect by Aretha which was an Otis Redding tune.

There's a difference between a guy like Robert Plant who made mistakes because he was young and in a big band like Led Zeppelin with all the booze and drugs he want and a person like Jim Morrison. Morrison was a pretty sick person and self destructive. I think the best modern comparison is Axl Rose but a lot more talented.
-
I bet Robert may have not liked his lifestyle or his personality. He obviously respects his talent.

LMAO! LIGHT MY COVER!!! Sounds like a bootleg title!
I meant Light My Fire. I'm a moron.
-
I think Zepp covered Light My Cover once or maybe more than that in one of their medleys.

I'll take the vinyl version of TSRTS for sound quality over any of the cd's. Shirley punched the levels, then compressed them to death, taking the life out of the sound... ...just like all the production of the last 15 yrs. It really chaps my ass......but what do you expect from a world that has been in decline as far as audio quality. You'd think there would be advances like w/ tv-hdtv......but NOOOOO! Friggin kids and their mp3's are sending music back into a world of sound quality comparable to mono AM radio.
Wake up and join the audiophile world! Demand more out of your music. Stop it w/ the damn mp3's!!!!!! Todays music on cd is mastered to be geared for optimum mp3 listening...and the cd's themselves get the shaft!!!
Sorry to bust your bubble but there's really not much of a difference Flac's just take more space.

BBC Sessions kick both of their asses.

They were amazing. Changes is a great song. So is Hole in the Sky, Planet Caravan, Black Sabbath.

There was a Zeppelin reference on the TV show Bones the other night. Some stalker that they used to spy on someone else talked about a girl who was wearing a fake Led Zeppelin shirt because it was Jimmy with a Danelectro instead of a Les Paul.
