Here is another pic. It shows one of the blips around the 4 second mark. There were about thirty of these blips but the are are NORMAL and nothing to worry about. 99.999% of the people will not be able to hear them at all. I just have really good hearing.  there was no real problem like with the other file.

Here is the cleaned up track. totally silent now. I made about 27 edits to clean up what i'm guessing are some fretting sounds and a few plosives. The jpeg shows how many edits I made. look on the left and see the list in the history.

I could tell you it's totally clean but,

There are some artifacts but they arent squeaks like last time. These sounds are far less audible and are most likely normal recording artifacts caused by any compressors in use or clock sources not being in total sync. fretting can also cause some unwanted inclusions I. can hear one around the 4, 6, 8, 13, 16 and 18 second marks they sound like "thb"  You need a dogs ears to hear them so I wouldn't worry about it.  later on today I will see if I can clean them up, if successful I will send it back to you with pics of the spectral display showing the position of each one.

You are correct, it would be pointless because when they convert it to mp3 it will just introduce more artifacts.  Ask what bit rate the convert the files to and see if you can convince them to increase it to 320Kbit/s  because 128 is just not good for the quality of the files.

This is a problem on their end.

There a bunch of artifacts. It may sound like a squeak but its not. They are a symptom of the compression rate the site uses for hosting files.  I can hear these sounds in at least one other file on their website. As soon as I heard it in the other file I know it's not you. . the freqs arent even hitting the 16k mark like most mp3s do. they must be using a low compression rate like 128Kbit/s to keep the files as small as possible which is really destroying them. Not only did it introduce the squeak it also created a number of digi clicks.  I am attaching a jpeg showing the artifact. they happen all through the file and anyone who cannot hear them needs their ears checked.

I know other files on their site have these sounds in them because I can hear it. so either they know whats happening and don't want to admit it or they really don't know what they are doing to peoples files but it's definitely not just you.

At least we've confirmed for sure its not on your end and they need to know it's not just happening to you. If they even really care although it is free.

There is no money involved at all wetransfer is free to use. No sign up necessary and you can transfer up to 2 gigs for free any time you want. I have been using it for years and the group I'm in also uses it with no money involved. I am on disability so if it costed me anything I wouldn't use it either.

But that leads me to another question. Did you record a lossless file or straight to mp3?  Artifacts can occur during the saving and converting processes but they usually result in digi clicks not a squeak.

  Having the original would be more help because if we can truly conclude that it is on their end then there is a real problem with how they handle the audio files.

Ok, that doesn't really make any sense and if you don't want to send me the original then I cannot help figure out what it is. I have been working with audio for 20 years and there is no way to introduce the squeak unless they are doing something to affect the audio after you upload it. To do that they would have to open your file in an editor and then make changes that somehow introduce the squeak. It is my opinion that the squeak is happening during your recording session and you aren't hearing the sound.  If the squeak is in the original file it is possible that it's not as noticeable until they post it. I guess it's remotely possibly due to the compression rate of their website is introducing it but even that is a longshot.  If the squeak is in the original but not that audible it can be still seen in the spectral image. I f I can see it then we can back track to what you might be doing during the recording that caused it. I'm willing to help.
