One of the saddest baseball episodes of my youth was watching Willie Mays at the end with the Mets.  I think watching Cabrera is worse.  I don't blame him for wanting to make an easy 30 mill.  I blame the Tigers for letting him do it.  He should have been paid off a year ago, and probably before if it wasn't for his quest for some milestones.  Now they're going to try and sell 'the farewell tour'.  The Tigers have done this in the past.  Victor Martinez, Trammel & Whitaker, and poor Carlos Guillen to name a few.  (Carlos would round 2nd base and you'd swear his leg was going to come off and end up in centerfield.)  Pay Miggy off and move on.

Verlander hits 40 just like Miggy, but with that smooth delivery, he's aging like fine wine.  I still never miss a chance to watch him pitch and had no doubt he was going to come back strong from that surgery.  Nothing's changed.  You might beat him, but you're going to hit a high 98 mph fastball in the 7th to do it.  I might even have to adopt the Mets this year.  Make millions playing a boy's game and go home and rest your head on Kate's pillows.  It's a hard, hard life.

still remember during the stretch run old willie hit a pop up in the infield  and legged it out, maybe against the pirates, anyways mets kept winning

Don Lemon is being forced to undergo some sort of sensitivity training because of his idiotic remarks about women over 50 being past their prime.

The women at CNN wanted him fired and for all the other people who have been fired for having "wrong" opinions he should be. Beyond that, who gives a fuck what he thinks???  everybody is entitled to their opinions no matter how inane they may be.

The problem here isn't his opinion it's cancel culture period.  I wonder if he sees the irony here as he was all in on cancel culture as away to purge undesirables.

He should be fired, not for what he said but because he's a no talent, self righteous, egotistical media hack.

never he is  gay, the right color and a liberal, so he checks all the boxes sort of like that basketball player who was  released by Russia while keeping in a long time pow in jail, and as an added bonus she hates the united states, not sure who Lemon hates besides republicans, the view and other hack shows somehow missed his views on  women and their prime debacle, no surprise

I appreciate your explanation.  I was unaware of the white flag rule.  It looked like Lagano was leading by a nose when the initial car started going sideways, but Stenhouse took it back by a nose when the actual yellow flag was raised.  Stenhouse did make a good move on that restart.  Not knowing the rules, I was actually getting excited for the expected duel to the finish line.

Logano actually grew up about 20 minutes from me in middletown ct., cool to see him do well, Walter is correct on racing back to the line, that rule was changed on a race I attended with my family in Loudon N.H. when Dale Jarret spun at the start / finish line and basically  did some circles in middle of track and cars were flying by him and he was powerless to move, next week nascar changed the rules, anyways Bongman you did well by just watching the last 20 laps, until then a very boring race, 2 rows side by side entire race when in years past we would see 3 lanes  and lots of moves

  4. the first thing i honestly thought when they threw that flag to sea the deal was Brees throwing that ball to sodeline and receiver getting pummeled a second before ball got there and  no flag thrown, that would of been game and we wouldn't have had to watch the perhaps worst super bowl ever between pats and rams, Romo was correct when he said the punter should get mvp

Which makes it a good time to have marathon viewings of the Marx Brothers, Three Stooges, and "Sanford & Son".

thats the shit that got me through college and add the munsters and adams family, and also hospitalized with blood clots couple years back all I watched was good old comedy for my self preservation, it helped

C'mon, I'm not saying that there aren't great personal adaptions out there because there are a lot of them, I'm just saying that if you're gonna sing it. I feel it should be sung in a way that anyone can follow.

When the guy flagged for the penalty said it was a penalty...it's a penalty. End of story.

I didn't know that walter, i stand corrected, i still would of preferred a no call, anyways to you and strider this was a lot of fun doing this and thank you for  that and congrats to the ringer, junior

To me it felt like he was too laid back and trying to be way to sentimental. The National Anthem is supposed to be performed in a way that everybody can follow and join with if they choose.  I am not a fan of a personalized Anthem.

    Jimi Hendrix?

  9. no defense  which is what the nfl wants and of course a brutal call that gave kc the win, at least Olsen told the world he had a big problem with that call, so instead of philly getting ball with a 1.20 left down by 3  the nfl made sure Mahommy won, to bad they swallowed whistles the whole game

This is the first year since UK tv started broadcasting Superbowl in 1983 that it is not on a free to air channel. I don't subscribe to any sports channels so no Superbowl all or part of for me in 2023.

    go to a sports bar😄

I don't watch ESPN's news and gabbing shows, with the exception of PTI. I don't watch the shouting-panel shows on NFL Network, NBA Network, etc. I don't watch Fox, CNN, MSNBC, or any other 24-hour type channel. The world survived thousands of years without 24-hour babble channels. These channels have to justify their existence so they manufacture faux outrage and stir up shit, inventing so-called 'crises' and 'controversies' 'round-the-clock. I learned long ago that I don't need it and my quality of life improves without their garbage. And my wallet has more money.

any time i can avoid  my town hall or any goverment building my wallet stopes smoking and takes a breather 😁

I just had a dreadful thought and so I looked up the tv listing for the Super Bowl. Whew...it is Fox. Which means we will be spared Tony Romo gargling Mahomes' nuts.

Whatever you think of Fox's crew of Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olson, it is still better than having to listen to Romo on CBS.

Now, some of you may remember me praising Romo when he first started broadcasting with Jim Nantz on CBS and that is true. I did like Romo at first. His call of the 2018 AFC Championship game was one of the most remarkable analysis jobs I had ever seen. But something happened to Romo during the covid shutdown. Pre-2020 Romo is mostly good. Post-2020 Romo is shrill, sloppy, repetitive, annoying. We have a drinking game at my house during Romo broadcasts. We take a drink every time Romo shrieks "I don't know Jim!".

The sign of Romo's slippage started to become clear when Mahomes and Kansas City advanced to the Super Bowl in 2020 and Romo went apeshit crowing about could Mahomes win more than 8 Super Bowls and erase the GOAT Brady. Ummm, dude...how about you wait until Mahomes wins even one Super Bowl?

Greg Olson is so good, I don't see how Fox could bench him for the unknown quantity that is Brady next year? Brady has all the earmarks of a brilliant football mind but dull announcer...like Drew Brees.

agree Brady and Brees are almost the same in their amazing knowledge of the game but perhaps to analytical and not enough color, better suited to o.f.c. job on sidelines if they still want to be part of the game after hanging  up cleats

What Cowboys team did you watch this season? One receiver and a bunch of scrubs.

Gallup once healthy proved he is no scrub also they did very well with their tight ends, running routes and catching the ball wasn't their problem, to many turnovers was

They are going to become more of a run orientated offense, IMO, to keep a leash on Dak and then have precision passes, like a west coast offense, with the expectation of YAC to increase. That's what I think will happen in Dallas going forward.

we need Pollard in the worst way to make a complete recovery, not sure what happens with zeke but that back up # 34 showed he is more than capable, you might be right so lets hope # 88 is on board and him and Gallup embrace west coast

One thing I know I'm going to do if the Chiefs win, is avoid television altogether. I know many already want to anoint Pat Mahomes, so just any blabbering coming from the mouths of Max Kellerman, or Nick Wright will give me a massive headache...

or... which Kelce brother makes more of an ass of himself on national television

  16. cowboys have a talented roster and  great group of receivers, their defense played very well and raise havoc on the QB, the problem is and always has been turnovers and that falls on 1 guy Prescott, that and brutal clock management, its sad to say but believe  daks rookie year was by far his best, too many times  does he turnover the ball and defense has to run out  and once again make a stop, the 49er game is a microcosm of his whole career, blown points on costly turnovers and missing wide open people open down field, so oc has left, need Pollard to bounce back strong, was so hoping  Peyton would come in and work his magic with Dak, oh well, btw when Rush was in for 5 games he was 5-1 and only loss was  monday night at eagles, they didn't score as much as when Dak started but they didn't turn ball over, controlled the clock, rested their defense which as a result gave up fewer points with rush as qb, balanced attack wins games, league loves to hype  the star qb but come playoff time and maybe in bad weather the star doesn't play well and their out
