That was a great moment! Usually it's "Immigrant Song" or "Kashmir" you hear them play at sporting events.

Dude, I literally thought "Is custard pie man in charge of the bumper music at Fox?" when I heard that.

if i was in charge in the booth we would of played all of custard pie and shown some very large breast to boot😇

  2. if #17 catches  just one of 3 wide open bombs in first half then Bills  are toast, give dolphins  a lot of credit for being huge under dogs with this kid and almost and probably should of won, hopefully for  our bills fan this is a huge wake up call to his team, very lucky to win

If you had told me in 1975 that a Zeppelin song would be played on an NFL TV broadcast I would have said you were crazy.  If you told me it would be Custard Pie I would have said you were really crazy.  During the SF-Seattle game Fox played Custard Pie in the transition to a commercial.

correct, my wife said " did i just hear zep?"

Can you believe that shit?  Have you ever seen a worse defense than the stinking Chargers?  And that guy that got flagged for taking his helmet off had a legit complaint.  The guy was held and no flag.  Officials suck as usual.  Jacksonville sucks. The  only thing they have is the front line on defense. They must go after Mahomes and hammer him if that is the matchup.  Al Micheals is a has been.  He stinks. I am so hoping the Ravens upset the apple cart and beat the Bungles as Strider calls them.  My late uncle lived in Dayton Ohio for a while before going to Florida with the rest of the family.  Always went to Cincy games.  The Reds more.  Bitched about the Steelers being so good.  I am hoping that Baltimore goes to KC. but if the Bengals win, Jax would go.  The  only thing they can do it give Mahomes fits with the pass rush and catch that little girly QB a few times.  The Chargers should fire that dumb ass coach.  What a dumb ass.  Herbert has to be fuming. Talk about no defense.  They SUCK.  Another mystery game today is that Vikings game. But  since Sean changed his pick, Minnesota is a LOCK!!!!!!!  😆

Bosa  wasn't pissed about possible hold he was pissed that takle started way early and no flag was thrown, then  he smashes his helmet and believe head coach grabbed it before ref sees it and idiot smashes it again, if were talking about same play

Enjoying the Chargers’ ass kicking of Jacksonville thus far, along with the UFC card, with a fire pit on the back porch. Frigid night in central Florida!
Doing a Boston Butt tomorrow on the pellet smoker. Rubbed her down this morning in preparation. Wrong thread! ;) 🤪

nice, let us know how great it was, doing prime rib roast here and indoors cuz of weather, chicken wings first game followed by  the roast, need a lipitor stat

  6. Michaels is ready for a nap, came out of a break and saw jags receiver catch a long pass only on replay did we see the play, inexcusable, anyways great comeback and couple of thoughts, Bosa is an idiot, cost them the game  on few blunders, Petersen has  huge balls going for the 2 pt. conversion, they miss game  probably over and  last point  now theres hope for cowboys, Dak usually only has  2-3 brutal turnovers so maybe  theres a chance in Tampa 😆

What a coincidence you brought up Candlestick. Today I watched the 2011 Divisional Playoff game between the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints played at The Stick on January 14, 2012. What a wild finish!

The entire game is available to watch on youtube but the NFL won't let me post the link here.

I liked Candlestick and wish the 49ers still played there. Santa Clara is not San Francisco. It's like a team playing in San Diego and calling themselves Los Angeles...or vice versa.

I remember watching that game with my youngest daughter who was a huge Saints fan, what a game, Brees did everything he could do but one thing he couldn't do all those years setting passing records was play defense!

Yes, Bob Griese broke his ankle early in the game against the San Diego Chargers in Week 5. Earl Morrall, who had been a back-up to Johnny Unitas with the Baltimore Colts in the 1960s, stepped in at quarterback and rode the running of Larry Czonka, Mercury Morris, and Jim Kiick the rest of the season.

The 1972 Dolphins became the first team to have two running backs rush for 1,000+ yards in a season...Czonka and Morris. The 1972 Dolphins ranked first in total offense, total defense, scoring offense, and scoring defense.

Bob Griese came back from his injury by week 14, the last game of the regular season, but Coach Don Shula kept Earl Morrall as the starting quarterback. Earl Morrall also started the Dolphins first two playoff games against Cleveland and Pittsburgh. But the offense looked lackluster against Cleveland. Then, when it struggled again in the first half against the Steelers and the Steelers took the lead in the third quarter, Coach Shula put Griese in as quarterback and they never looked back after that. They played and beat the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl VII. It was the seventh year of Miami's existence as a franchise, the quickest an NFL team had reached a championship after forming.

You might wonder why I'm so into Miami lore? The Miami Dolphins were my second-favourite team after the Raiders. Like the Raiders, I got to see many Dolphins games on TV, as NBC (which carried the AFC games) loved to broadcast the Dolphins as much as the Raiders. In fact, with the blackout rule still in effect in 1972 (home games could not be shown in the home team's city even if the game was sold out), I bet I saw more Miami Dolphins games than Paul Carruthers.

President Nixon and many of his staff and other politicians in Washington were big Redskins fans. It was their anger at the NFL for not being able to watch the Redskins on TV the year they went to the Super Bowl (even though the Redskins had sold out every home game since 1966) that caused the NFL to change the blackout rule the next year.

yes NBC always had Raiders and Dolpphins and Steelers on up here in new england and Curt Gowdy seemed to always do the big games, cbs always had my cowboys on but sometimes we were stuck watching the lousy Giants

  9. saw Beck first at the last arms tour concert in the garden, then I was able to see Jeff at foxwoods casino in ct.  2 times with my wife and son who picked up guitar and  as a pre college student was very interested in classic rock and had an ear to guitar virtuoso unlike all his classmates who were into rap shit, anyways Beck delivered, a 3 piece band both times, what a phenomenal show, i remember his manager  before the show announced for everyone to look under their seats because a couple of lucky fans had an apple computer stuck under their seats, anyways so very sad to see this guitar legend go and makes all of realize that were only here a short stint so better do what thou wilt

The NFL could have re-scheduled the Bills @ Bengals game for this week and just pushed the playoffs back one week and eliminate the two-week wait between the Conference Championships and the Super Bowl as they did in 1990 and in other years.

But they didn't. You can cry it is unfair to Cincinnati and Buffalo and whomever. But at this point it's crying over spilt milk. Move on and deal with it. Life is unfair.

The point is if you are a great team, you can win anywhere in any circumstance. I have been celebrating the 50th anniversary of the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins team by watching as many of their games (regular season and playoffs) as I can find. In a quirk of the NFL rules at that time (which would not be fixed until 1975), there was no playoff seeding based on team's records. The league rotated the host of the Conference Championship games among the divisions, no matter what the team's records were. Hence, the undefeated 15-0 Dolphins had to travel to Pittsburgh and play the 12-3 Steelers at Three Rivers Stadium for the AFC Championship. Imagine if the undefeated New England Patriots of 2007 had had to go to Pittsburgh or Indianapolis to play the Conference Championship game instead of having all the games in New England?

I actually didn't realize that and was 12 at the time and watched sports year round and was somewhat a fanatic  with Cowboys, Mets, and Knicks, what I remember was Earl Morral replacing Griese for most of the season to a broken ankle? and Shula reinstating Griese at end of year, imagine if Bill up in New England did that to Brady when Bledsoe  came back?

    Well, there was a chance.

Walter left the door open by going 9-7 this week. That meant if either jabe or custard pie man could go 16-0, there would be a tie for first place.

Alas, both jabe and custard pie man could only muster up 11-5. Dallas and New Orleans wrecked most of our cards. Interestingly, this was one of our best weeks collectively as everyone finished above .500 for the week...even greengrass.

ebk and I finished 12-4 to win the week and Walter won the Season Championship by five games. Congrats Walter! :cheer: I will mail your prize to you this week.

Walter and jabe finished the season tied with the most weekly wins: 7.

Thanks for playing, everyone. Walter will handle the playoffs. See you next season.

I think Dallas will be Bradys last game.  I have to wonder if Dallas cared at all about that game yesterday?  Doubt it.

I smoked a pork butt and had friends over and missed cowboy game and assumed Dallas rested Dak, Pollard, zeke etc... but found out they played full game and got destroyed they will be 1 and done again, Bucs who have no business being in playoffs will most likely look like world beaters against  turnover Dak and the boys, another note saw after dismal packer performance Rodgers was back to his drama again, this guy should get a job on the view😆

Unfortunately for the Bills and the Bengals, the NFL has once again reminded everyone the league is bigger and more important than any one player.
