  1. Brett Morgen, who made the excellent documentaries "The Kid Stays In the Picture" (about Robert Evans) and "Crossfire Hurricane" (Rolling Stones), has done justice to the life and art of Kurt Cobain without descending into malicious gossip or engaging in hagiography. Most importantly, it erases the memory of Nick Bloomfield's exercise in bad taste "Kurt and Courtney" documentary.

Thank you for sending me to Google, sir.

    A new word to me.

Doesn't happen a lot at my age.

  2. The Rush date for Dallas, Texas, of which I will be attending, is in one month from now (5/18/15). This will be the 6th gig of this R40 tour. I will also be attending the Rush concert in Las Vegas, Nevada on 7/25/15 which happens to be the 4th to last gig of this R40 tour.

For all the Rush fans that post on this topic, does anyone have an inkling or a possible inkling of what to expect from the almighty RUSH, given that this may and perhaps be the very last extended tour that Geddy, Alex and Neil ever partake?

Obviously I do not know the setlist, but I am hoping and expecting a Rush show that will be at least 3 or 3+ hours in duration.

Anyone else excited and expecting a remarkable show from the Greatest and Most Under-rated an under appreciated Group of All-Time?

I'm flying to Denver for the July 11 show at the Pepsi Center.

    I'm pretty jazzed.

Plan to try some edibles for this show.

Their regular shows usually go around 28 songs, with an intermission and the various videos.

I expect at least that for this one.

  3. A van carrying members of two heavy metal bands veered off the highway in Jackson County on Monday morning, killing three people and injuring eight more.

Georgia State Patrol spokesman Cpl. Scott Smith said the van toting 15 members of the bands Khaotika and Wormreich was on I-85 southbound near Maysville Road on Monday around 7 a.m. when it veered off the road.

Authorities believe the driver, identified as 27-year-old Khaotika member and Athens resident Sergio Quesada, fell asleep at the wheel before the vehicle plowed into a tree.

Edited because posted from my phone.

  4. I am pretty jazzed!

Mrs. O and I each got our brand-new 64 GB iPhone 6 Plus.

Still backing up the old ones, etc. in order to switch over.
Also have to activate new SIM cards as our current ones won't fit so I had to order new Nan0-SIM cards.

    First time I ever got a brand-new, top-of-the-line smartphone.

In the past I was just glad to have an iPhone 4 when everyone else had the 5.

    So yeah, pretty excited!

  5. Glad you had a great time at the concert, TypeO! Serenade is actually on his Greatest Hits disc. It's a must for summertime listening! :stereo:

    Of course you're right.

My first hint might have been the Steve Miller Band Greatest Hits album cover graphic on the very video I posted, LOL.

But I seriously hadn't heard that tune since I had the album back in the 70s.

    Felt good.

  6. Last night, in Columbia, SC.

    Steve Miller Band and Journey.

Almost didn't know I had won a pair of tickets on Facebook until a couple hours before the show!

The notification that I had been mentioned in the comment section as a winner never showed.
But a follow-up post yesterday afternoon alerted me, and I dropped by the radio station to pick up my free tickets.

    AWESOME concert.

Both bands still putting on a quality show.

The singer for Journey sounds just like Steve Perry in his prime, so odd as it may sound to say it, it was actually a better performance than if the real Steve Perry had been singing.

And Steve Miller played a tune I hadn't heard in years, because it's an album track from Fly Like An Eagle called Serenade that's probably never been played on the radio.

I said earlier - if you've never had the album, you probably never heard the song; but if you had the album, you'd never forget it.

As I posted on FB, the show hit me right dead in my 70s.

    I had a blast.

  7. Not sure if it's the NEXT concert (may see something before then), but found out today I'll be attending the Rush R40 Tour July 11, 2015 at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

Fly free with Delta there and back, meet up with my friend who already bought 2 primo seats to the show.

Yeah, the same friend who also has a Colorado prescription card!

We're planning on edibles for this show.

    OH YEAH!

  8. Tonight I watched Gone Girl.

Really long, and I want to say really good, but I'm not sure.

I wasn't happy with the ending.

But it was pretty good, and very intense.

    Overall, I liked it.

Also, I noticed Trent Reznor with Atticus Ross for the music, which was pretty awesome.

  9. Saw 2 good movies this weekend, compliments of Redbox.

First off, I watched St. Vincent twice, Friday night alone and again Saturday evening with my wife.

    And I cried both times.
    I really loved it.
Bill Murray remains as awesome as ever.

  10. Predestination (2014)

    Rated R 97 min - Action | Drama | Mystery - 9 January 2015 (USA)

The life of a time-traveling Temporal Agent. On his final assignment, he must pursue the one criminal that has eluded him throughout time.

Stars: Ethan Hawke, Sarah Snook, Noah Taylor

One of the strangest character scenarios I've seen in a long time. In a way it's similar to the movie '12 Monkeys' with Bruce Willis.

The acting is pretty decent. The storyline will leave you with one or a couple of different thoughts. It's not your classic predictable movie.

Yes, definitely one I'm wanting to see.

I set a reminder on my Redbox app to let me know when it becomes available.

I'm a big Ethan Hawke fan.

    Did you see Gattaca?

    One of my favorites.

Have I mentioned how much I love Redbox? LOL

    It's so convenient.

And I can search the movie I want on the app and find what location has it, then reserve it so it'll be there when I go to pick it up.

  11. Not trying to make an obvious pun, but that really was a dick move.

Can't believe she didn't go off more than that.

Almost makes me wonder if it's an abusive relationship for her to not get more pissed off than that.
