  1. "Every 10 years a new generation finds him. There are only two kinds of guitarists in the world. The ones who talk about how they were influenced by Jimi Hendrix and those who were influenced by Jimi Hendrix but won't admit it."

    Epic ! :D

  2. AC/DC Austrian concert in doubt over rare bird risk

AUSSIE rockers AC/DC could have to cancel a sold-out concert because their big sound poses a danger to rare birds.

Animal rights campaigners are threatening legal action if the veteran band goes ahead with a gig planned for Wels airport in Austria in May.

Hans Uhl of BirdLife said birds nesting in the area at the time would be threatened by anthems such as Highway To Hell and You Shook Me All Night Long.

"The second biggest colony of curlews in Upper Austria and various other ground-nesting birds must not become endangered," Mr Uhl said.

  3. Rare Jimi Hendrix Live Albums Due in January

Almost 40 years after his untimely death and interest in guitar legend Jimi Hendrix shows no sign of abating -- two rare recordings by the man considered by many to be the guitarist of the 20th century are to be released early next year.

The Jimi Hendrix Exprience are caught in action at a performance recorded for French radio on Oct. 9 1967 at the Paris L'Olympia. The recording of this much-bootlegged show has been given a complete audio overhaul and will be supplemented by another show from the same venue, performed on Jan. 29 1968. The second set shows the band previewing material from what was to become the band's double album masterpiece, 'Electric Ladyland.'

The second package captures the group in full flight at the Ottawa Capital Theatre in Canada on Mar. 19 1968.

The recordings will be officially released in January as a strictly limited edition package that will contain CD and vinyl recordings of the three shows. Also included are a poster and postcard set, an iPod skin, guitar picks and a T-shirt.

As previously reported by Spinner, the late guitarist's estate plans to release unheard Hendrix material every 12-18 months for the next 10 years.

  4. ZZ Top last night. Loud as hell! The beginning was a little stiff, but the ending was epic. Billy Gibbons erupted on La Grange. I was waiting for a solo like that! Frank Beard is a drum machine, never missing a beat, just shuts up and does his job! And I always thought that Dusty Hill is a better singer than Billy, but Billy's voice is ZZ Top's trademark sound. There were some picture of the band on those huge screens, some early photos; Billy looked so...normal without a beard !

Anyhow, a great show (it's ZZ Top after all), the time passed so quickly!
