  1. Love all the photos! A few comments on some of the more recent ones:

Bonnie~~ I thought you were the girl on upper right....IMO your sister looks more like you than you do yourself. :P

Ethan~~ you have a great mane, just like our favorite lead vocalist. ;)

Rick~~ nice seeing the pic of you & your wife....you're an attractive couple, as is Matt & his wife

Mandy~~ the shot of you & the black bears is awesome, I'd frame it if I were you.

Joel~~ You're very handsome in that self-portrait of Oct. 05......but please tell me: is your shadow taller than your soul??? B)

    Thanks for the compliment Angel!

  2. Well lookie here.....!!

    It's Rick and his wife !!! Far-out man !

    No wonder you can'tquityourbabe !!! B)

    Nice shots ... :)

Thanks Joel. Well my wife and her daughter always wanted to go to Nashville. If we ever get there we could meet for a drink,

  3. I fuckin' loooove Aerosmith.I've seen them four times;and they were easily the best shows I've seen so far.

I also fuckin' hate "Dream On"

I also think that the first album pales in comparison to the three that followed, because the production sucks. They really started to come into their own when they worked with Jack Douglas..Draw The Line is a great album IMO,just not as good as the previous two.I think it kind of gets a bad rap.

    Oh and......

    aerosmith_-_rocks.jpg

....because it is;and it does. B)

Mama Kin is good-dont you think? I like Get your Wings the best. Like Toys too. Think Rocks is average.

  4. Well, this "other poster" has his tastes, you have yours.

    It's all subjective.

    Cheers

Gee, sounds like something Ive heard before. You are correct sir. But when someone tells me Presence is better than Led Zeppelin IV it makes my blood boil!!

  5. From what I understand they could be pretty shitty in concert back when they were all hopped up on drugs and alcohol. When they went straight the albums started to suck and their live shows improved dramatically. Go figure. Even though I've been a fan since the early days I never saw them live until the Get A Grip Tour in the 90s. While I don't care for the vast majority of their new material their live show did kick ass.

Did they play Train Kept a Rollin? Perry is a great guitarist. Never got enough credit. As for the other poster before you, dont know how anyone can pick Rocks (which I owned along with first 3) over the first album (Dream On) or Get Your Wings. Good album, but I dont think even close to Get your Wings.

  6. Who likes Aerosmith?

The history of the Toxic Twins... men, those two guys are crazy.

Personaly I like the Joe Perry guitars.

And one of the best CDs was Permanent Vacation.

There first three albums were by far the best. Get your Wings (Train Kepta Rollin) is my fav. But Dream On and Mama Kin are classics. Toys in the Attic I would rate as third best of all time by them. I saw them 3 times back in the day. Like the Rolling Stones they long overstayed their welcome in my opinion. Dragged on a carreer with material that was sub par to their ealier great stuff.

  7. It's interesting putting a face to people i chat with on here. I have only seen 1 or 2. it makes them seem more human then just words on a screen.

Nice pictures. You look like sensible people. How can you like Prince? I wish I could go back to Toronto, to go to Eaton Center, but your government doesnt want us americans in the country anymore. Im sick of being treated like a criminal at the border..

  8. Cant think of anyone else that implemented the flute the way he did into rock n roll. Of course the sound has been imitated through keyboard on songs, but he really kicked ass on it. I saw them back in their prime and they were great. Aqualung is one of the all time classics. I have no Tull albums now. Had their vinyl-need to get some burned on disc. I think I had a greatest hits album way back. Had songs like Skating Away and Bungle in the Jumgle as well as the classic Aqualung. They made their impact in Rock n Roll thats for sure.

  9. You need to do a much better job of reading my posts before replying because you have a very bad habit of saying things I never once stated in them. For instance, I never said they weren't "big" or that they didn't have "hits". I merely stated why I personally don't care for the majority of their work and called Henley on his hypocrisy. No, they may not have had any trouble moving tix but that doesn't justify the high price. The whole idea was that the Hell Freezes Over Tour would be your last chance to seem. Well, as we all know Henley continued to milk that premise for all it was worth and toured for the next ten fucking years. They should have at least lowered ticket prices when they decided they were actually going to stick around for a while. Even Page & Plant made a point of keeping ticket prices down during the Unledded Tour as a direct response to the Eagles charging too fucking much when they very well could have charged just as much (if not more). That's artistic intergrity, what the Eagles were doing (and continue to do) is corporate greed, the very kind Henley himself used to rail against, that's why I have no problem whatsoever calling him a hypocrite. I still don't mind some of their music but when they made it safe for any band under the sun to reunite and charge $100 and up for it, that's when my opinion of Henley changed. He always struck me as a bit of a pompous asshole but that proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

But then again look what some of these nobody bands are charging. Some of these bands that are not anywhere close to the Eagles are charging too much. Cant wait to see what a Led Zeppelin ticket will cost me when they hit the States. (I am a believer that they will). Im sure the cheap seats will be $150 and the good ones $250 or more. And they will get it in a heartbeat. I have heard that the Eagles are touring this summer. dont know for sure. I guess Ill put you on the list of not attending. Perhaps Henley is greedy but so is Pink Floyd while we are on the subject. I dont think it is right, but I still think Henley is a great talent-great singer. Also dont like the shit they pulled on Don Felder-was not a good move.

  10. Yes, it is, especially considering Henley's past stance on corporate behemoths. Then again, you have to remember this is the same band that paved the way for $100 tickets for your last chance to see them (for which they then proceeded to tour for the next 11 years). Just how many times can Hell freeze over? Apparently not enough for Mr. Henley and his cohorts.

I certainly think the Eagles are a great band. They have proved that and are big whether you want to admit it or not. You dont like them fine. I dont like Elvis and many of the other bands, some of which ive never heard of on your list. But their songs are big hits whether you want to admit it or not. And they had little trouble getting the $100 a ticket. In fact I think it was $175 for the best seats in Buffalo where I saw them last in 03.

  11. Thought I would start off this again ! any Deep purple Rainbow fans out there ??

    Leddy

I was a big fan of theirs in the day. Machine Head may have been the first true rock album I bought with my own money. Had the old greatest hits album Purple Passages. I just dont think they progressed after a certain time though. and Blackmore in my opinion, though good, not ini the same league as Jimmy Page. Not even close. Jon Lord was great and truly underated. I say he is better than Wakeman but not as good as Emerson by any means. But in fairness to this band who you english folks seem to hold in high esteem just like Queen (which I dont understand at all0 I may have missed out on some of their material. Have heard "made in Japan" but Ii didnt have the same love for them I did for Zeppeliin. Then again I could say that about any band.

  12. Why the emphasis on Elvis' suppposed inability to play the guitar (which is completely false, by the way). As I mentioned earlier Mick also picked up a guitar along the way and I'm sure he's no Keef in that dept (same for Plant, who has been known to strum a chord or three). So should we come down on Mick for his lack of playing ability? Does it make him any less of a musician? I think not. Like him or not, Elvis Presley had a very profound effect on music in general and rock n' roll specifically. As I also previously mentioned, I very seriously doubt the Stones, Zep, the Who, the Kinks and many other artists would have ever been moved to take up music if it weren't for Elvis. There's also tons of artists out there that didn't write their own songs, does that make make them any less of a musician?

I guess it depends on your definition of what a musician is. If you consider someone that can sing but has no musical knowledge of playiing an instrument, readinig or writing music, or understanding theory a musician thats fine by me. But if you are just going to play air guitar like Elvis did, just held it and didnt really play most of the time, then NO I dont consider him a musician as far as a player. Singing and playing an instrument are two differant things. It takes alot more knowledge musically to do what Page does for example as compared to what Plant does.

  13. So;I'm"A joke" now?

    Fuck you.

I think Elvis is a joke.

Thanks for sticking up for the Stones. He obviously doesnt like them and I cant fucking stand Elvis. Elvis sucks as a musician in my book. He was a great entertainer, and of course had the look that made him popular. But he couldnt play his way out of a paper bag on guitar. I dont think I ever heard anyone ever say he could actually play. Oh-Im sure he knew a few of the main chords and all, But I doubt he know any lead scales or anything more complicated than conventional chords. Of course I hate Garth Brooks too. To each his own.

  14. Cool. I wasn't sure. As for fellow posters trying to police threads for staying on topic, I have noticed one particular poster here trying to do that. Perhaps they should be appointed Moderator status. Hell, even the Mods don't police the threads as heavily as that person to keep them on topic. In fact, I don't think they even police them at all to keep them on topic. If so, they'd damn sure have their hands full 24/7.

I know what you mean. The one Im thinking of begins with the letter E. That is all I will say. Take care. Good night. And happy holidays to all!

  15. Well....I didn't mean to say twirlers were a problem for you..I was just generally saying it's some of the people at the shows I diss...and yeah, the twirlers drive me nuts.

They're at alot of different shows and to me ..they seem so caught up in their twirling they can't tell when a band is playing well or not....they might as well have on an album...they're off somewhere else....

    * I don't see the same types at Rolling Stones shows....added for pertinence to the thread...:D before icantquityoubabe jumps my ass...

Im just joking! Unlike some that have it in for me here. I welcome all discussion. Just that I have been jumped on so often for going off topic on a certian thread. I know alot of you love the Dead.
