  1. I don't have a problem with the twirlers, I would actually count them among the hardcore Deadheads. What I was refering to was the influx of people there just for the "party", especially in the years following the success of Touch of Grey. It was this element that brought a negative vibe to the shows in the Dead's latter days of touring; gatecrashing, etc. it just wasn't typical behavior of people I would refer to as "Deadheads". It's like I said, they totally had the wrong idea.

Start a "Dead Thread"!! Hey Hey You You get off of my thread!!!!!!

  2. Nice comeback. At least Jagger hasn't died by being overstuffed with his own shit.

And yeah, if you have to explain the Stones' worthiness, they'e not gonna get it anyway. Best off to just ignore the bullshit. No, they aren't what they used to be. But in their prime they were one of the top two bands in existence.

    Amen!!

  3. I just saw concert film of the stones of 1972 and have come to the conclusion that Mick Jagger is one of the most overrated front men of all time. You couldn't understand a word he was singing. His dancing and movements were laughable. He was wearing some outfit that he had obviously ripped off from Elvis. He can't even hold to a candle to someone like Elvis. Now there is a guy that could move on stage.

To top if off The Stones haven't done anything worthwhile since the 70's.

Elvisi walked around pretending he could play a guitar. He was a joke in my opinion. Jagger puts him to shame. Elvis is the most overated performer I have ever seen. How can you listen to that crap eh? Did you see that fat ass perform at the end of his career. I wouldnt listen to Elvis if you paid me. The Rolling Stones put him to shame.

  4. Neil Young is legendary & his music knows no boundaries,

I saw Neil Young & Crazy Horse in Sydney in 2003 when they rocked the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

But what i remember most about Neil was that when i was growing up in the 70's EVERYBODY had to have a copy of Harvest or you just didn't exsist.

I had Harvest (still have the album but no record player). I think this and After the Gold Rush are his best. Also like the one with Cinnamon Girl. (I think its called Everybody knows this is Nowhere). He has such a unique style and voice. Though Southern Man and Heart of Gold are his blocbusters, a few of my favorite are "Only Love can Break YOur Heart", "The Needle and the Damage Done" and "Dont Let it Bring YOu Down".

  5. At one time I would have called myself a "Deadhead" but not after it started to take on negative connotations towards the end of their career. There seemed to be a whole lot of people showing up at their concerts that had the wrong idea which ended up giving Deadheads a bad name. They definitely were not what I'd call Deadheads but the media labeled them as such.

Meant no offense but I couldnt resist that one. I saw the Dead twice. Basically dragged there by ex friends who I lost track of kicking and screaming. I always respected Garcia as a guitarist. He was a very good guitarist. As for the rest of them I think they suck. Only one good song ever-that one about trippin down to Buffalo or somthing like that. I have a place i my heart for Buffalo as its just down the road from me and Ive seen many great bands there. (Stones, Who, Eagles, etc). But had to travel much further to see Zepp. Ill never forget the lines of people, me included, that had tickets to the 77 show-canceled just days before the event because of the death of Roberts son. Ill never know how things like this can happen to people that have so much money. Always thought it happened to us middle classers.

  6. I think the Rolling Stones are one of the greatest bands ever. My favorite album is the live album "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out" from 1970 at MSG. Mick Taylor was with them instead of Ron Wood and I have always been in the camp that believes Taylor was the better guitarist. The greatest version ever of Sympathy For the Devil is in here and there are two great lead solo's in the song. Does anyone know which one Mick plays and assume Keith Richards plays the other. I think it is the best guitar the Stones have ever done. The two Chuck Berry songs "Carol" and "Little Queenie" are fabulous as is Stray Cat Blues and Midnight Rambler. Live with me is another good rocker from this live album. I think the must buy albums for someone not familiar with the Stones would be "Hot Rocks" the greatest hits collection. Of course Sticky Fingers would rate as one of the altime best studio albums. And I would put Some Girls on the list too-one with Woody that is great. They have probably overstayed their welcome in many's eys. There is no quit in Jagger is there? Would like to see some opinions by Stones fans out there. Im sure there are many.
