  1. Then, Clive Coulson also knew the moment when Scarlet Page was conceived at Bron-Yr-Aur,didn't he?

I personally think Bron-Yr-Aur session was one of the most romantic moments of Jimmy's life.

But why cannot we see any beautiful pictures from the time? ;)

I love pictures of Jimmy with his children. They are really beautiful.

A few years ago I had read in a magazine that Jimmy said '' the most wonderful time in my life was the moment of each of my children's births''.

I forgot this magazine's name. Does anybody know this?

    MOJO?Classic Rock? Guitar World?or Uncut??or other...

I also have never seen these pictures before. aen27,where and when were they taken?

  5. Lovely! Is the pic in the middle him with Mary Wilson of the Supremes? It looks like her.

    Love this pic! :D

Yup. Good eye! It was an event for the Supremes last...Summer...I think?

    Here's a couple more:

Jimmy attended the private view of this event 12 May 2008 at Victoria & Albert Museum.

He seems to have spent very happy time with Mary Wilson at that time.

  6. You remembered right, he does say 'my lady went to Italy.....'

He and Charlotte wanted to issue a book together? That is so interesting! I did not know that.

They also seem like a very interesting couple. I kind of think of them as a '70's George Harrison and Pattie.

It is an impression that I had received then. :D

I'm sure she had a great knowledge in the art and literature (as well as Jimmy).

Eric Clapton was touching it a little in his autobiography.

And I love George and Pattie too!

I feel very happy to see his cheerful smiles!

  7. Thank you!

Yes it is. At the very end, he cuts the interview short because he has to go meet Charlotte.

Besides, the content of NME I remember is that Jimmy said that what should be of the pope and Vatican. He also said ''my wife (or lady?) went to Italy and she told me that it's like Fort Knox.''

Jimmy was talking that he wanted to issue a book in the future (with Charlotte?).

They seemed a nice couple to me.

  8. I forgot to put up these with the others...

    jpnme792-1.jpg

i have never seen this one before.. thanks :)

Me too! aen27,where did you find this picture? You would always find nice pics.

This Jimmy is in NME interview in Swan Song office before Knebworth festival in 1979,isn't it?

I remember he was talking about politics and politician in Britain at that time.

He said Edward Heath was an honest person. Jimmy might have felt familiarity with ex- Prime Minister Edward Heath who was also the organist.

  9. How do you know?

You know nothing about her, all you have is one picture of them outside with her holding a shopping bag - how does that make her his "one night stand"?

She could have been a friend, a relative, a record company rep, the caterer, a runner, a friend of someone just out of the shot, someone he was with for days, weeks , months, she could have been someone he wanted who actually turned him down and went home that night - the point is you DON'T KNOW.

And why is it funny that Jimmy would call her a "Bimbo" if she dared to speak about him? What kind of person does that make him? Admirable?

All of this judging of people you have never met, know nothing about, and know nothing of Jimmy's relationship with is just WRONG. Please, can we have less of it on the band's official forum?

I understand what you want to say.I certainty overstated about the girl of that picture. I'm sorry.

When I see your current comments , I'm afraid you do not like the first and the second of Jimmy's wives. If it is so, I don't care about it at all.

I'm not interested in the reasons at all.

But both of them are called my close-knit family by Jimmy himself actually even today.

This is an evidence that he thinks them to be important for him.

On the contrary, Jimmy was very angry that a mere groupie wrote her relationship with him in her book in the exaggeration. I never say fabrication. This is true because the author herself of the book said that (his angry). This groupie had Jimmy revolted very much.

Do they mutually have contact today? The answer is NO!

I only love people whom he loves.

There was a description that he was despising vamps who have sprung up in rock scene in Richie York's first Led Zep biography book.

I was glad to read it. Because I had a same opinion.

Though I sometimes feel the excess of the discussion here , a silence is regained in the thread after for a while. If you want to express your opinion, I hope it when the topic overheats. .

Anyway thank you for your advice.

  10. In these days Jimmy seems really happy, calm, elegant and intelligent.

The people who don't know him might surely think him to be a college professor or a conductor of an orchestra.

  11. ...along with the Italian women and men... ;)

    Oh,is it sarcastic?

I certainly like Carla Bruni-Sarkozy too. She never said an extra thing though she had also dated a few major Rock stars.

Danielle Mitterrand (wife of François Mitterrand: ex- the President of France) answered that ’You should not ask such a private question’ when she was asked about his husband's child of infidelity by newspaper reporters. They never took up that topic since then.

And they were married couple to the last minute. I think that this is a true elegance.

I wrote extra things too much.

Now back to the original theme (Jimmy's hot pics).

Jimmy and young pretty athletes. He looks very glad! :cheer:

  12. There are circumstances of which naive wives have no concept, due to the Victorian sensibilities inherent in English society that persist yet to this day. Their husbands sometimes live quite on the edge when they are travelling.

    You have misunderstood in part.

Charlotte Martin is the French not the English. I think the French is considerably different from other countries for the marriage. In general they are generous to the opposite sex relation of the partner.

Once upon a time ,they called Jacqueline Onassis 'the woman who has safe in her mind'.

(When I read her biography, I felt this completely!)

I personally think the French women are the most elegant people in the world.

  13. It was more than that. Jimmy Page was not always at his best on the road, and Pamela Des Barres has mentioned that she personally protected him from an unsavory situation on one occasion when he was not at his best. In some cases, the ladies should be thankful that certain groupies have the presence of mind to intervene to prevent their husbands from being even more excessive on the road than they already are.

I personally think that Pamela is a good person ,but if it was true, why did Jimmy call her a bimbo?

I suspect she wrote about her relationship with him exaggeratedly more than the actuality.

  14. Thank you AMAZONIC ,aen27.

    These are from me.

    Jimmy looks happy and cheerful!

At the end of last May Jimmy went to the Scarecrow trail in Berkshire.

I wonder if he was given his digital camera from Ross or Scarlet. :D

  15. And I am not prejudiced against anyone, groupie or otherwise. Each person is a human being. When I die, He is going to look at my heart and soul, not what I am wearing or whether I am in the company of groupies or models.

I personally esteem your opinion. But as we have another opinions, each musician has their ones.

David Gilmore of Pink Floyd said in interview in 1971(who stayed in Tokyo then).

The relation between the groupies and the musicians look like the prostitutes and the guests who trace parallel lines. It's only that there isn't money issue.

In 1988,when the DJ of Miami radio station asked Jimmy Page what he thought of Pamela's book and his reply was, "Oh I've met a lot of bimbos out there. You know how girls like to exaggerate".

Both Jimmy and Dave have a negative idea about rock stars' hangers.

It is clear that they never loved them.

On the contrary I'm sure Robert Plant has a respect for groupies.

The reason why I love Charlotte isn't that she was a fashion model.

She never talked about Jimmy so far. And she is his child's mother and his granddaughter's grandmother. I think she is so classy lady(just like Jane Asher who never talked about Paul McCartney). In fact Jimmy called Charlotte 'my lady'.

Was there another woman besides her who was called in such a beautiful expression by him?

I'm sure they have a very strong ties even today.

    Oh,I forgot to write this!

This Jimmy's clothes was by Yves Saint-Laurent. It's very classy!

And Jimmy was selected to one of the best dressers by GQ magazine.

(In addition Mr.Saint-Laurent died in last June)

  17. I remember seeing that top picture on ebay. I am so jealous of that girl....but never mind....

    Great pictures! Thank you.

    aen27,me too :D

After all, that girl was Jimmy's one night stand during the tour(like other many girls).

For a while before I asked her name in another thread, but nobody knew.

If she doesn't talk about Jimmy, she will not be called bimbo by Jimmy.

  18. Another image captured from video - Zep at Plaza Hotel June'77. He does look beautiful here...and someone sure is lucky. There is another photo of same lady being escorted by Jimmy on this official website... she could be a journalist/assitant....

I've read somewhere that this girl was only one of many Zeppelin groupies(like Pamela or Bebe etc).

I guess it was a typical 'one night or one tour stand'. It was not very unusual for most musicians.

  19. Unless I'm mistaken, she only mentions the tour in her book 'Sixties: Portrait of an Era'

but the photo appears on pg. 49 of the book 'Walk This Way - The Autobiography of Aerosmith' ? Steven Tyler recalled this concert during the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Induction speech for Led Zeppelin. He remembers Jimmy coming out of the dressing room with the girl whom he'd been living with up to that point - Lynn Collins - and

having this incredible visual of all his clothing being thrown into the street as she

runs off with him...as she did. ;)

Jimmy seemed to have tried various girls to find his true partner in those days.

And at last he found her on his 26th birthday!

It is written in Mick Wall's book that Jimmy's affair with Charlotte would remain in place a lot longer than his dalliance with the prettiest GTO.

It was,in fact, the start of the first really significant love affair of the guitarist's life, and one he would remain true to even after the band had returned to the road in America. An almost unheard of sacrifice, even for the married men in the band, for Jimmy it was a sign of something much deeper.

I think that this part is obviously true.
