  1. Thanks Alice. Do you have any sources where these quotes came from, especially from Jimmy? It should put a perspective on why and when these words were said. I'm with the Band from memory, was published in 1987. Cheers :)

    Meg

Pamela wrote about Scarlet in I'm with the Band that she had heard a rumor Scarlet wanted to enter conventual. I personally felt author's malice a little.

  2. Jimmy called Miss Pamela a bimbo? Harsh. She seems like such a charming woman. Did he call her this in public and what was the provocation - her first book?

No, I believe that he made this remark earlier. I'm not sure that I remember what the provocation was. Perhaps their relationship was more characterized by passion than friendship and did not develop into a true intimacy.

    This is my personal opinion.

The reason why Jimmy was angry to Pamela was possibly that she had referred to Page's beloved daughter in her first book.

Pamela wrote the hearsay about Scarlet.

There might not be father who is not angry for inaccurate hearsay to be written about his child.

  3. In ''Whole Lotta Led Zeppelin: The Illustrated History of the Heaviest Band of All Time (Hardcover)''by Jon Bream

It is written that ''Pamela Des Barres was only one of many Zeppelin groupies. Another was Bebe Buell.''(page.122)

If Jimmy called each of them bimbo & coke whore....

They were considered to be only groupies.

But because both of them wrote that they were serious lovers of Jimmy in their books he got angry, didn't he?

  4. Oh I think that's a bit harsh .

Plus he's now dumped Jo so does that make HER a groupie?

Jo is decisive and is dignified woman. I think she is far from a groupie.

And plus she was a virtuous wife.

Though it was deleted now,the following article was here before.

    http://krissy-wood.tripod.com/id6.html

Krissy Wood was a model, legendary groupie and wife of Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood. She was the groupie extraordinaire who counted two Beatles and a Led Zeppelin guitarist among her lovers and a Rolling Stone as her husband. The woman who had affairs with Eric Clapton, George Harrison, John Lennon and Jimmy Page, and married Ronnie Wood, was reduced to selling treasured mementos of her past life and even seeking work in a supermarket in the last days of her life. She died in poverty aged 57, of a accidentally overdosed on Valium she was taking to combat her depression on 15th June 2005.

  5. If that can be justified, I'm going to stay happily single

If he loved her so much, how the hell could he have been

doing all those others. He should have taken Charlotte on the road with him

    What a load of crock.

I think that Jimmy has cruel one side.

He seriously loved a woman,on the other hand,he might also have had the desire that wanted to play with women like prostitutes. In a sense,he executed man's dream.

I personally think it's a privilege that it is permitted to the brilliant artist.

  6. I'm surprised Woody and Jimmy got on well. This is from Ron Wood's autobiography called Ronnie (p. 161) I recently finished reading:

I don't think it is curious. I guess both Jimmy and Ronnie felt nothing about Krrisy issue.

Krissy was just a groupie or something after all.

In fact she was rolled by a lot of men. Slut like her was a toy for men in this era.

George Harrison, John Lennon,Jimmy Page....from 1973 till 1974 as far as I know.

She claimed she had lost her virginity to Eric Clapton on her mum's sofa in Ealing, but Eric never wrote about her in his own autobiography.

When Ronnie found his true love(Jo),he dumped Krissy easily.

  7. I ALSO FEEL THE SAME WAY, TRY NOT TO, BUT CAN'T HELP IT!!!!!

I also feel quite the same way.

When I read Led Zeppelin's new biography by Mick Wall(who is Jimmy's long time friend),

I was convinced that other girls except Charlotte were all just 'fun' for him during tours in the 70's.

(It is evidence that Jimmy never contact those girls now. They were temporary.)

She was the one and only lady whom Jimmy loved sincerely.

  8. He's so beautiful in every way, I want to cry too. I started reading Mick Wall's book today and I love it!!!! It's a Jimmy feast!!! It's heaven!!!!It only makes me just want more and more of him!!!

    Now, time for my contribution....

I'm also starting to read Mick Wall's book ' When Giants Walked the Earth' now.

It's very interesting!!To tell the truth, I worried about this book a little. Because I've read somewhere that this book resembles notorious Hammer of the Gods(yes,Jimmy called it a crap). But it was a false report. I like the following parts very much.

''For Jimmy Page, the Albert Hall show would contain even more lasting significance.

Watching from the wings that night was The Who's vocalist Roger Daltrey. Misunderstanding the lack of support act,he observed,'I know why no-one wants to play with these guys. They're too good.'

With him that night was his then girlfriend,Heather, accompanied by a friend a young French model named Charlotte Martin.

A slim, elegant blonde with perfect features, she was Jimmy's type and he made sure Roger introduced him to her after the show.

Having dated Eric Clapton for a period in 1968, Charlotte was used to the attention of musicians, but Jimmy was different. Compared to most rock musicians she'd met he seemed quite sophisticated.

Quietly spoken, undemonstrative, but confident and quite sure of himself. When she invited him back to her London flat, he agreed to go without a second thought, getting Cole to drive them.

When the band gathered at Grant's office four days later to begin the drive down to their next show in Portsmouth,Charlotte was still on Jimmy's arm. With Pat Bonham.Maureen Plant and Mo Jones also joining the band on the road for the UK tour, suddenly Charlotte became the new 'Mrs Page',the slot previously occupied by Miss Pamela. However ,Jimmy's affair with Charlotte would remain in place a lot longer than his dalliance with the prettiest GTO. It was,in fact, the start of the first really significant love affair of the guitarist's life, and one he would remain true to even after the band had returned to the road in America. An almost unheard of sacrifice, even for the married men in the band, for Jimmy it was a sign of something much deeper.''

I obviously feel Jimmy's will in these sentences.

  9. ...He does,

he says in his BBC Interview just this year that he loved the lifestyle of Rock and Roll..the groupies and all...no regrets and to live and tell about it....I hope he remains like this, the attitude, the outlook, the charisma, the charm ...all of it!

    ixpage400.jpg

I think that he was joking half. B) He is not foolish to repeat a past failure.

As far as I know he never loved groupies.(just having a fun during tours)

Recently he seems to be crazy about his granddaughter.

I understand that he came to have inner reserves to look back on his past and to accept everything.

  10. Yes. Oh, of course I didn't know. He has his shirt partially hanging out! It makes me worry. The only making me feel better is it is 1982. It's hard for me to look at that one. He looks so lonely. These are the others I did scan from that articale.

    Wow,you found this picture well!

I remember this picture was on the Japanese music magazine named 'Ongaku Senka' in 1981 or 1982. Jimmy was seen in the art exhibition in London then.

Didn't you see the picture of Jimmy and a lady with a long blonde hair besides that?

It was written that she was a classic pianist from West Germany.
