Riverside Bluesman
Legend has it that at some point in 1969 when Zeppelin were being supported on tour in America by Jethro Tull, Ian Anderson's famous long grey overcoat that he wore on stage was 'borrowed' from his dressing room as a prank by one of the Zeppelin folks. Certainly the coat vanished and was never seen again. Some cite this as the starting point of the animosity between Anderson and Robert Plant in later years. Anderson himself says that this event might have happened in Detroit and, hearing him in recent interviews, still sounds a little cross about it. Anyone know anymore ? Anyone want to own up ? Otto Masson
Why the "real" robbery? Was there another robbery that wasn't real?
MGDavis
The only robbery involving Jethro Tull was their winning the only Grammy Award for Best Heavy Metal Album with warmed-over pablum. The victim was Metallica's "And Justice for All"

Yeah, this is what I've heard thru the years as well. Robert also referred to him playing a "phallic tin whistle".
