On July 25, alt rockers Jane's Addiction streamed a live performance at JKF Airport's Terminal 5 in New York as well as announced their plans to create a 60-minute 3D documentary using fan footage captured from the performance.

The documentary will use 3D footage taken with LG Thrill 4G phones, and will premiere on YouTube on August 4, according to the announcement.

Los Angeles band Jane's Addiction was one of the most successful alternative bands of the 1990s. The band is releasing its fourth studio LP, The Great Escape Artist, in September.

Also pioneering new innovations in music videos and film, Canadian rock band Arcade Fire, together with Google and artist Chris Milk, launched an interactive video set to the band's track "We Used to Wait" last August. Called "The Wilderness Downtown," the online project makes use of Google Maps and Google Street View to incorporate images of the viewer's hometown into the video.

The Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am also recently launched a music video app called BEP360 via his new media production company, dubbed will.i.apps. The app features 360-degree motion control and augmented reality, and features a video for The Black Eyed Peas' track "The Time (Dirty Bit)," from the band's new CD, The Beginning.
