  1. yes the solos are different the one on the Let It Be album was recorded a year later I think

I forgot about bootlegs of Let It Be ..... can't you tell I'm not a collector? The ones I knew of were the single version, the one on Let It Be, I heard Led It Be...Naked had a different version, and the one on the Anthology

they did a lot of songs during that time..... I remember reading they played Love Me Do.... I dunno if it's on a recording or not though

Here's a listing of 'some' of the recordings made from Jan. 2, 1969 to Jan. 31, 1969 that encompasses the Let it Be sessions...there are over 40 separate 'albums' and most are 2 cd sets !!

It's incredibly extensive....go look !! All on the page linked....

  2. I got it from the album Let it Be

That's NOT the single version then. The main difference is the guitar solos...to me, anyway.

It was mentioned the number of variations of Let it BE available...well, there are many, many, many from the 3-4 weeks of sessions they did while filming that movie. Hell, I've probably got 10 versions !! of EACH of the songs on Let it BE ! I love them all !

Don't let me Down was my favorite tune from those sessions...

I was never either/or with the Beatles and the Stones...I ALWAYS liked both !!

  3. I just watched 10 episodes of Space Ghost: Coast To Coast in a row. I laughed the whole way through, even though I've seen each of them countless times.

They need to release more volumes on DVD. 3 is not enough.

Muse, your post makes me happy !! :D

Brak and Zorak !!! Love 'em !!!

I've got this Space Ghost cd...where they sing the silly songs on them...my favorite is a parody of 'Cant touch this'..by Hammer...funny !!!!!

  4. Knowing that two good friends already received their copies of the O2 shows I sent them thru the mail. It only took 2 days ( and during Christmas season !) to go to Texas and California for the package !

One was an attendee of the show and he's was ecstatic upon receipt !

YAY !! That made me happy ! And my hike in the forest....:)

  5. Shot of Love - AC/DC

    I'm here :D

    Oh there you are !

Double shot of my baby's love.....

    The Swinging Medallions

    it's on the Nuggets boxset ! :D

*late, but MOJO also posted 'love' so I was still on TOPIC !!!

  6. I think there needs to be some respect shown for one of their least celebrated titles....

    Their_Satanic_Maj.RollingStones.jpg

This gets dissed repeatedly by fans who claim they left their rocknroll traditions at home. Well I for one like this greatly...I loved how, after sitting at the feet of Paul McCartney during the Sgt. Pepper sessions, Mick Jagger took this influence and did a Stones 'psychedelic' album.

2000 Light Years from home, Dandelion, We Love You, The Gompus !! I love 'em....Plus the original cover was that 3d type of thingy....Hail, Hail psychedelia !!!

So whadaya say naysayers ? Can you appreciate and show some respect ? :)

  7. Since we're talking pre-Stones influence here...it's relevant, we need to pay tribute to...

    506539_150x100.jpg

We can disagree all we want about musical influence but there's no denying there'd be no ROLLING STONES without Mr. Rolling Stone himself....Muddy Waters...

    Well, I wish I was a catfish,

swimmin in a oh, deep, blue sea

I would have all you good lookin women,

    Sure 'nough, a-after me

    Sure 'nough, a-after me

I went to my baby's house,

and I sit down oh, on her steps.

She said, "Now, come on in now, Muddy

You know, my husband just now left

Sure 'nough, he just now left

Sure 'nough, he just now left"

Sure 'nough, oh well, oh well

Back down the road I'm goin

Back down the road I'm goin

Sure 'nough back, sure 'nough back

  8. I guess it depends on your definition of what a musician is. If you consider someone that can sing but has no musical knowledge of playiing an instrument, readinig or writing music, or understanding theory a musician thats fine by me. But if you are just going to play air guitar like Elvis did, just held it and didnt really play most of the time, then NO I dont consider him a musician as far as a player. Singing and playing an instrument are two differant things. It takes alot more knowledge musically to do what Page does for example as compared to what Plant does.

    Nothing personal....

    but I consider that non-sense.

  9. 95 was a good year for my mom. She also saw Page/Plant in Boise.

 My dad was the stoner...why do you think I have no brothers? :D

My mom and dad were quite young to have a child my age--my dad would have turned 49 this year, my mom is the SAME EXACT age as Celia. :D It's quite cool, even though my parents were young and poor, because the generation gap is not too big.

So your mom was 18 or thereabouts at your birth ? It would be cool to be that close in age....you coulda done one of those mother/daughter hand cream commercials they did way back...:D

Stonin' causes impotent Y chromosomes ? Hmmm...I guess that's why the world DOES have more females in it. ...and sorry your dad's not still around...my parents are gone and that gives the holidays a bit of a hollow ring for me....anyway...what thread is this ?...oh yeah..Rolling Stones.

    Time for some seasonal sounds

    41393MVJTHL._AA240_.jpg

  10. Well....I didn't mean to say twirlers were a problem for you..I was just generally saying it's some of the people at the shows I diss...and yeah, the twirlers drive me nuts.

They're at alot of different shows and to me ..they seem so caught up in their twirling they can't tell when a band is playing well or not....they might as well have on an album...they're off somewhere else....

    * I don't see the same types at Rolling Stones shows....added for pertinence to the thread...:D before icantquityoubabe jumps my ass...

  11. I was rambling Mandy...and should have been clearer...I saw The Grateful Dead in '95 in SLC...not the Stones. I saw them in '73. I have a few posts about that...a page back or so...

But your mom came to SLC in '95 for the Stones then huh ? Well....Must be cool to have parents who rock out !!

    STONERS !!!

Mine were into the bigband stuff of their youth...Glenn Miller and those guys....the crooners and Doris Day schlock !!

  12. Pfft! You always semi-trash the Dead. When will you possibly listen to 13 cd's!!

When have I ever semi-trashed the Dead ? I'm with Jahfin in how he views so many of the deadheads !! I can't stand the twirlers...

I love their early stuff..and even after that for a few albums...geez...even saw them there in Salt Lake City in 1995 ...

I've listened to the discs many times, I've had that box since ummm 2001 ! That's 6 years !

Oh and yeah Jahfin...I meant 'The Golden Road' that you picture second there...the bonus with that was the double disc of material as The Warlocks/preDead...fun raw covers and stuff..

OH yeah...the Stones..this thread.....uhh...the band was cool in The RocknRoll Circus..and Keith especially playing with John Lennon/Oh NO !!! Eric Clapton and Mitch Mitchell as The Dirty Mac. And the face of the violin player when Yoko started her screeching !! It was as if someone had cut one....hahahhaha...priceless !!!!

  13. My biggest box purchase to date is the Grateful Dead's

    So Many Roads '65-'73

    13 cd's I think....and got it onsale at release for $99 ! Now that was a great deal !

Plus...I'm sure you know this, but they expanded each original cd with outtakes and live material to the max ! I mean, some of them were a full 80 minutes !!

I've got a few others and I got them at a good price too.

  14. I've got several of the early Stones remasters..the DSD hybrids. Thing is, they're FULL price. I got them on sale when they were initially released and they were still about $13 for the unexpanded issues...ya know, 30-40 minute cd's ! I still got them, but was bummed they couldn't be offered for like $9.99 or something....

I bet that box up there is about $150 !! maybe $129 ?
