A friend of mine who's truly a Neil fanatic owes it. I've listened to it with him and the Massey Hall and the Fillmore shows are truly remarkable. I have both of these on regular CD and there's no comparison, the Blu Ray Massey especially makes you think you're literally in the audience. I don't know what stuff he's downloaded though, I'll have to ask. I do see that they offer the archive box in mp3 format free for people who've purchased it already.

That's not going to happen any time soon. It's unfortunate but that's how it is. This is an old article from 2004 but I don't think much has changed.

I lost interest in them when McDonald took over, they turned into L.A. slickage and I really had no interest in any of that. I've been avoiding classic rock radio like a plague for the past several years so whenever I do hear an old Doobies tune it's welcomed.
I can't say even the original Doobie Brothers were that spectacular but they were very very good and those old tunes of theirs bring me back to a different universe.

Great tune Deborah. As a kid trying to learn how to play guitar the guy giving me lessons told me if I could learn to play this then I could learn how to play anything. I never quite did lol.
Great song off of a great album. I'm really getting old.........

I wonder why FLAC files aren't available to U.S. customers. That's frustrating as hell, I'm not a big fan of mp3 files. This is a great show though.

I love Stand Up and Benefit. Timeless albums.
So do I, both really were great records. Even though it was a compilation here in the states, "Living In The Past" was a favorite of mine too and still is.

My favorite album of theirs was "Viaticum", that was just a remarkable record. This is a live Blue Note performance from 2006............

Esbjorn Svensson drowning like he did was really a tragedy, that trio was terrific and had a totally different sound for a jazz piano trio.
Thanks for the other names you mentioned, I'll have to give them a listen. I've always liked European jazz too.

Actually it does make sense about the last one. If you ever listened to the Band's box set "A Musical History" their early stuff recorded as The Hawks really pre-dates the Stones, Who and Yardbirds. They were doing the blues /rock/ r n b thing before any of them, really.
Interesting list though, I guess everyone starts in their garage.
