  1. It must be because of all you football hooligans raising hell! Glass is still used in finer establishments here in the US. They only have golf on the TV screens.
  2. I've seen them twice. In 1978 they were pretty good. Grace Slick had started to get a bit wacky from drinking so much, but she still sang well. They were supporting their album called "Earth". The ballads were for the most part boring, but the rockers kicked ass! They were doing Ride the Tiger and songs from Red Octopus and Spitfire too. Then in 1984 or so they were awful. They got that Mickey Thomas guy on vocals which just ruined it. Here's the lineup when I saw them the first time, 1978 Grace Slick - vocals Marty Balin - vocals Paul Kantner - rhythm guitar, vocals Craig C
  3. That's the name of a T-Rex song off of The Slider. If the article mentioned it, sorry, I hadn't read it. I sure thought that was cool though.
  4. Sad commentary. The American Idol effect has gone worldwide I see. I'd rather see an ugly band anyday, then I hear the music better, no superficial attractions. The Mars Volta are outrageous on record, I can only imagine what they'd be like live.
  5. If any are susceptible to deadly fire, then we all are. All is fair in love and war. Either we all are granted life or we all are targets of slaughter. I go with the saying, Choose Life.
  6. I think it's a combination of the paranoid projection authorataritive types convey and the accepting masses of hysterical suburban type parents that create this. I for one have never bought into the fear. I also have no children and am glad of it. What would I do if I was a parent? I would instill my values of non-paranoia and let them play, OUTSIDE! We live in an extremely weak society.
  7. The Republicans are too afraid of McCain ruining the conservative party with a victory, so they'll either sit out or vote Obama so they can let him ruin things (in their minds) and regain some integrity for the Republican party. They'd rather the US to falter with Obama than with McCain who's WAY more liberal than they can understand for a Repub candidate.

  12. Terrestially, or picking up old license plates. Astrologically, Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac, is a masculine sign ruled by the warrior planet Mars, whose motto must be "Crash through, or crash!". A cardinal (creative and inventive) sign, Aries, the Ram, governs leadership and initiative. Aries people are bold and self-confident, although they tend to be overly impulsive. A Determined Fighter The emblem for Aries is the Ram, a determined fighter and a powerful adversary, with a strong urge to express himself over the widest possible field of endeavour. Is the

    The pub

Too bad there's not someway someone could conitnue to have access to the massive database of the old board and be able to store it and research, gather, compile and edit information for those who'd desire it. The information is there, it's really a shame for it to be destroyed or inaccessible in some way. Just to be able to get your own posts and save them in one click would be great. Can that be an option made available over the next week before the board is completely closed ? It's a pipedream I suppose, or wait this is the pub, a biersteindream then.
  15. They're the leaders of one of my favorite genre's, Psychedelic/Garage/Grunge 60s. Fantastic music ! Besides The 13th Floor Elevators full catalog, this is a great place to start for the curious. Many, many bands represented for this style. This disc has about 30 songs. There's also a 4 disc boxset with over 100 songs of this genre. http://www.amazon.com/Nuggets-Original-Art...8/dp/B00000AFWZ
  16. I was just watching "The Last Waltz" last night. The band did that number. Do It Again Steely Dan *shit, too late,
  17. I went to Circuit City today to get mine for $15.99 and the clerk said "Who?", when I asked for the TSRTS cd. She went to look, 15 mins. later came back empty handed. I said the EXACT same thing in my description of the state of cd merchandizing today, PATHETIC !!! So I went next door to BestBuy who did have it and got it for $17.99. They had plenty. It's all because of the downloading now, record stores used to be mobbed on new release day especially for a Led Zeppelin album. Lines formed typically all night, for the new vinyl in my experience.
