  1. Thank you. :) A good friend of mine met Jackson back in the 80s. He said that Michael was one of the kindest people he had ever had the pleasure to meet (not just the nicest celebrity) very willing to chat with and to encourage a fan's success.

Also, I was made happy when I viewed his exquisite dancing and singing (since he was 5), and I swear, I feel like there's a new void in my life now with his passing. This is my way of grieving, personally. And, I cope with it by yakking about it a lot. lol...

  2. You took the words out of my mouth :(

hey, ninelives that's one good thing about this very good forum...it brings people together in great sadness...a little community building like Karuna once mentioned in another thread. Good people like you make it possible. ;)

  3. The Sweetest Sounds - from the movie Cinderella the Brandy & Jason Alexander version (this song wasn't in the original Cinderella musicals. Rodgers & Hammerstein wrote it for another musical which escapes me at the moment.) :P

  4. Is Brooklyn haunts one of those haunted restaurants? We have one in my town called Catfish Plantation.

Oh, haha, nah, just an expression. :) Those are the places we used to go to a lot. Ya know, "let's visit the old 'haunts' ". The Catfish place you mentioned sounds excellent. Reminds me of the setting to Porgy and Bess--Catfish Row. :D

  5. Dear Kentucky girl I'm sorry to hear this. :( I hope your shepherd feels better real soon. You were good to take him to the vet. I bet the antibiotics help a lot. :)

Dear Hotplant. Hope your son feels better by the end of Father's Day. His first one! :)

Dear JAL Take heart! :) It's annoying to have to be immunized. I know lol. Just think of the needle as a little pinch by a teasing friend.

    (Hope I didn't forget anybody. Hope everyone's well!) ;)

  6. To all those who asked, my dad is doing much better. Doesn't have much of an appetite yet, but he's sure it'll return in a couple days. He's still really sore around his midsection and has 6 holes/incisions full of staples that he is getting removed on Thursday. My sister and I had to mow the lawns today since the doctor doesn't want him doing any physical, strenuous labor until at least next week. He's not even allowed to drive. He's looking at July 1st as his goal to go back to work half-days and July 6th (his birthday) as his "go back to work full-time" goal date.

We're so thankful he got diverticulitis otherwise we never would have known about the tumor. Not that I'm glad my dad ever got sick, but it was a blessing in disguise.

I'm glad your Dad is recovering, Electrophile!. Hope he feels better real soon. Hope you and your sister have fun giving him some TLC. :) Happy Father's Day to you all! ;)

  7. Hope you are having a great time with her :D

Hey, thanks, ninelives! I did have a great time with her. We visited old Brooklyn haunts like one of favorite pizza joints and a new restaurant, too, for a special, happy occasion. We caught up by talking of old times when we were kids--esp. the music! :)
