  1. There's a house in my subdivision that still has Christmas decorations up. It's almost St. Patrick's Day. Time to take them down now, Cletus. Christmas comes back the same time every year. I promise. You'll be able to put them up again in about 8 months or so.

I was wondering what's the greatest double-album of all time, aside from the obvious answer of Graffiti...

The first two I thought of were Sign O the Times and The Wall....

Leaving aside Physical Graffiti, my choices would be Electric Ladyland, Dave Brubeck Quartet at Carnegie Hall, Blonde on Blonde, and All Things Must Pass (though that's really a triple album).

agree but he caters to the  mob and the blm crowd so yes go after Drew Brees for standing for the Anthem and go after Rodgers for his choice not to put or inject a vaccine that isn't working as planned but if  you rape, beat assault, gang bang, drugs, well nfl will always look the other way, especially if your black, not a racist whatsoever just stating the facts as I see them, zero moral compass

If I rolled my eyes any harder, my skull would look like a slot machine. Two things:

    1. If you have to preface your statement with "I'm not a racist," what you're about to say is racist and you should shut your mouth.

    2. I don't care about your political opinions, and I didn't ask for them. I come here to avoid BS like that.

So the new year for the NFL is upon us. Salary cap has been increased by 25 million and players are already receiving the "franchise tag". The biggest news is Calvin Ridley being suspended for next season due to gambling. He claimed he was having "mental health" issues...POS. Free agency is about to begin and the combine happened over the weekend.

I find it hilarious that Goodell will suspend a player a whole season for gambling, but not for beating the crap out of his wife/girlfriend/fiancee or child. Oh, and by "hilarious" I mean, "pathetic and sad."

Yea, I know a lot of people feel that way.  But even Beatles "filler" songs are IMHO leaps and bounds better that most bands "A' material.

I agree. The White Album feels, at times, like four mini solo albums cobbled together to make one group effort.

Rodgers $200 million for 4 years....$153 million guaranteed. Say good-bye to the rest of the team. That's a quarter of the payroll for less than 2% of the team.

...except Rodgers said that the details of the contract haven't been finalized and none of that is true. The only thing that's accurate is that he's coming back.

Unless it comes out of Aaron Rodgers' mouth, Mark Murphy's mouth, or Brian Gutekunst's mouth...don't believe it.

"The White Album" is in that league.....

The White Album is full of filler, IMO. You could pare it down to one incredible LP. The problem with double albums is that a lot of them are just self-indulgent and could do with some editing, including The Wall.

Apparently, America loves a bad soap opera--at least, I can't think of any other reason why the Lakers are always getting wall to wall coverage by the sports networks....

They're one of the most recognizable teams, same as the Yankees, the Patriots, the Packers, and probably a few others. Frankly, there's too much important shit going on to worry about sports, but I can understand how for some people, worrying about sports is a respite from all that important stuff.

I am staying out of the Ukraine-Russian mess. No need to add to the shitpile, as it seems impossible to wade into the topic without getting into politics. And that was not this thread's intended purpose and I don't intend to make Sam Webmaster's job any harder than it is.

No, that's not this thread's intended purpose, and I'm getting sick and tired of wading through one person's ignorant bullshit to get to posts I actually have interest in. Said person drove me away from this site years ago, and I don't want that to happen a second time. If everyone else could quit quoting this person, that would be great.

Millionaires fighting with billionaires & in the end, it's the fans who will probably lose the most...

That's what happened the last time there was a strike/lockout. It took steroids to get people interested in the game again. I shudder to think what it'll take to get people back after this.

There's always this limbo for me--right after the SuperBowl ends & baseball is still in limbo--when I realize how boring the world of sports is....

Yeah, there isn't a damn thing going on right now sports-wise that interests me. I'm not much into hockey, and I haven't watched basketball actively in almost 20 years. I'm hoping the baseball season isn't delayed by too much, but I'm not hopeful.

  12. I come to this message board to avoid politics, not get slapped in the face with it. If you want to talk about those topics, please start a dedicated thread for it so I then avoid it, just like I do the thread about the Big Nasty.

I liked this thread the way it was before when people were complaining about shitty TV commercials.
