  1. 45 years ago today, Animals was released. It was the last great album they did as a quartet, IMO, and the last in the line of Obscured By Clouds --> The Dark Side of the Moon --> Wish You Were Here --> Animals in regard to "all killer, no filler." This is probably my favorite song on the whole album, and one of the best songs they ever did.

agree, but nfl only cares about viewers/ money

For Christ's sake, all the moaning about the weather, you'd think you were going to the game and being forced to sit on the aluminum bleachers in your underwear. The Packers are the #1 seed. No way the NFL is putting them in the afternoon slot. That's a marquee game, so it gets primetime viewers. You know how many Patriots playoff games were in primetime? You think Foxboro is any warmer than Green Bay? It's not. They're not intentionally jeopardizing anyone's health by scheduling the game at 7 o'clock at night as opposed to 1 o'clock in the afternoon.

I'm from the Midwest. Brutal cold this time of year is a fact of life. So is outdoor football. The Bears play outside, the Bills play outside, the Patriots play outside, the Packers play outside. You nut up and deal with it. Teams that play outside in the cold definitely have an advantage over dome teams/teams that play in warm climates, but good teams can overcome that advantage.

I am glad the holidays are over and I don't have to see any more ads for pumpkin lattes, pumpkin chai, pumpkin bagels, pumpkin tacos, pumpkin ad nauseam.

The wonderful thing about pumpkin is you can eat it all year long. I don't know why advertisers haven't figured that out. I can make pumpkin bread or pumpkin soup in July if I want. Shoehorning it into two months of the year is silly.

  4. I don't think Bigfoot/Loch Ness monster or other similar fantastical creatures exist. It's a bit too silly to be logical. Life on other planets? Not in our solar system, but in other galaxies within the universe? Sure. Absolutely. Where there is liquid water, there is life. We can't be the only planet to be the right distance from its parent star to have liquid water.

  5. It's really coming down now, and it's gotten colder. I had to run my dog outside about half an hour ago, and we only made it halfway up the street before we had to turn around and come back to the house. Not because it's too cold for me or anything, but he wants to run and play in the snow, and I don't feel like being dropped on my ass and breaking something. LOL

  6. Right now, Spectrum News because I'm keeping an eye on the weather. I live with and take care of my elderly parents, and my mother in particular can't afford to go without electricity. We have plenty of backup oxygen tanks, but her nebulizer/BiPap run off power, not batteries, and she needs both. So, I'm hoping we don't get enough sleet to bring down power lines.

One of my all-time fav albums, along with his first self-titled record. 🙂 I got the remastered box set as a present for someone back in 2018, and remember at the time thinking "I should have gotten this one for myself"

Paul McCartney was the true genius in the Beatles. The other three were fantastic too, but it's clearly obvious in the Get Back documentary that he was not only coming up with the bulk of the songs, he was the one pushing everyone to keep working, even if he could be high-handed about it.
