....and is it just me or is Zeppelin now a little more lenient with every other movie using their songs now?
Last I heard (read in a news article), it costs around 7 figures to use a Led Zeppelin song.

I need to get one of these. I've always wondered what all the fuss was about for these pressings.
Ditto.
I have two different pressings of II. One is just a late pressing that is not even worth putting on. The other is the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab pressing which is the best I've ever heard, but sadly it is missing a large chunk of vinyl. I hear nothing but good things about the RL pressing.

if there is a video of this concert they should hurry up and put it out before everyone dies that want to buy it. it been long enough lets see it. this new generation wont pay as much for it as mine would. get it while you can
I completely agree with you. I think there's not many of us in the younger generation that will. I would be completely willing to spend money on these things if I had it. $10,000 for a soundboard (once the going rate), probably not. Maybe for a Los Angeles/Long Beach show because I'm from that area. The monetary value of these gems will start to (if it hasn't already) plummet as time goes on and the number of diehards starts to dwindle.
Edit:
That's talking about the people who buy the source tape(s). I feel the same way when it comes to bootlegs (EVSD etc.). Most of my generation do not pay for silvers, and probably will not.

If it was a mirror, why is his right hand pointed upward? Wouldn't it be his left?
Position and angle?
If it was a video screen why would it be at the same level as the band and behind them? All the video screens I've seen in the pictures from Zep concerts, the screens are much larger and suspended above/in front of the band.

I assume that's what he is referring to, I could be wrong.

I don't know how that footage counts as being professionally shot. More like a good audience recording.
It's shot by a professional news cameraman
-
Does it circulate?

Edit:
On stage footage around 2:50
Here's just the footage from Ledzepfilm's channel

I believe this is it

Yes, you're right. With a little digging we may be able to come up with something. It's all moot, though, until there's a snippet of video or a screenshot.

Aerosmith in Houston a month after Led Zeppelin, two consecutive nights filmed. No on-stage cameras, from similar angles as above. Now, I don't know if Aerosmith had this gig filmed for themselves....that needs to be researched. If not, this might be the strongest "evidence" that it's remotely possible.
Edit: the freeze frame/slow motion in between songs is reminiscent of the Seattle video that was used for the projection screens. Having said that, maybe Aerosmith did have the screens in use.

Yes, but that was probably shot for Bill Graham, if it even still exists, and would most likely be in the hands of Wolfgang's Vault.
Should probably be added to the list of possible recordings, although it isn't necessarily "pro shot"

WOW! They don't happen to have a news broadcast archive do they?
I contacted the media content manager at KHOU a few months ago and he responded with...
Hi Glyn, I am not able to find any footage from that long ago in my archive searches. Not terribly sure of who would have it either. Sorry we could me of no help but good luck with the search.
-
No, I haven't. Did it do well in sales?
-
Definitely. Sorting and syncing the footage they shot is an absolute nightmare.
Which is why it would never see the light of day (officially). Regular fans would have no desire to watch choppy incomplete footage. Perhaps in some sort of mega boxset.
Geezer, yes, but two years ago. The Rover, a member here who was actually at the Houston show, said that the screens were NOT in use.
I remember someone saying that the CCTV monitors in the lobby/concession area may have been in use. I don't remember if it was in reference to a Zeppelin show or if it was said about another show at the Summit. I think it's in the Houston thread.

We've been listening, doesn't mean that Zeppelin was recorded though.

I wouldn't call it urban legend, it's well documented. It all depends on the kinds of tapes you have. Very specific formulations of Ampex (among other brands) go sticky. If you have a box of mid 70's Ampex 406/407 that hasn't gotten sticky/stated to shed, consider yourself lucky.
Not sure if vhs tapes have the same problem, not into old video tape collecting as I am audio.
-
I agree, it should be more like "Screens in Use at Show." Uncirculating leads one to believe (at least in my view) that the shows are out of Page's hand's and in the hands of private collectors, but not openly.
-
Neither of these are it, but they are the closest I can find

Here's another pic of it

Any thoughts on the meteor over Russia today?
Tonight Asteroid 2012 DA14 comes close to us aswell.
2012 DA14 has passed by (as of about an hour ago) and all is well.
That one that hit Russia is interesting, lots of good footage since a lot of the population has dashboard cameras.
-
Logically thinking about it though, why would they go through the trouble and NOT record/get a copy?Just because the screen was in use doesn't mean that the feed was being recorded to a tape.

So, you're the one that bought that. I was going to bid on it but lost track of it. I had never heard of it before, the vinyl editions appear to go for around $70-100. I'd say you got a decent price for a sealed cd box set. I know pretty much noting about it.
Let us (me) know what it's like once you receive it!
Edit:
A bit more info
