    Mono mixes on ITTOD companion?

Not a mastering or production error, at least not one related to the recent reissues. The source tapes sound like they have deteriorated over the years. It may have been a mastering decision to mix them more mono to eliminate excessive dropouts or single channel damage, but that's just my thought. Half of Led Zeppelin II's companion tracks are nearly mono: Whole Lotta Love Thank You Living Loving Maid La La (parts of it)
  2. Not definitive, but another option Do the eyes not sparkle, senses growing keen Taste the love along the way, see your feathers preen

    Houses of the Holy Outakes

The Godfather set is the most complete collection of studio bootlegs. There are no studio outtakes from the Houses sessions. The Smithereens 3 is filled with fake/manipulated tracks from the album, not actual outtakes.

    kashmir unreleased version (help)

I have the audio archived from the RR Auction video: https://soundcloud.com/glyn-roy/rr-auction Of course this one sounds better as it is from the master tape rather than a Nth gen cassette, but I am confident it's the same. One of the reels is well known as the "Oh My God" tape, the second remains unbooted.
  5. I ended up paying $308 for all three at Importcds. I've ordered all but one of the boxes from them.

Looking for a pictures of Page

There's probably better quality pictures out there, but here's a few...
  9. Yes, In the Evening Counts but it isn't "official" yet. We'll also apparently get "If It Keeps On Raining"

    Biggest fail live

Here's the whole Tempe, it's a hour and a half I dont have the 75 NC show, I'm going to look for it now.

    Biggest fail live

^It's the same with Kashmir. Once you get lost in that it's incredibly difficult to get back. It didn't help that JPJ couldn't remember the song...
  12. The Song Remains the Same. A close second would be No Quarter, followed by Jennings Farm Blues. The instrumental TSRTS is just incredible, possibly my favorite of all the companion tracks so far.

    Biggest fail live

According to Jimmy's laser tech, Plant tried to kick a sparkler that someone threw off the stage, rather than falling off the stage it fell into the flashpot and ignited it while Page was standing over it. The show is a culmination of the band's state, the atmosphere of the crowd, "technical" glitches...sort of a perfect storm. Tempe is interesting to look at given what would happen that weekend in Oakland.

    Biggest fail live

I think Tempe's Achilles wins. They were all completely off for nearly four minutes, until the solo. Even after the solo Plant comes in early. Bonzo is unrelenting. Usually you'll hear him hesitate a little so that everyone can figure out where they're going, but here he just powers on. At the end of the song, Page is doing the outro and Bonzo just keeps going. I'd give anything for footage of Achilles.

    Biggest fail live

Here's another, 1977-06-07 Kashmir. Page sounds out of tune for the whole song. They get into trouble around 6:18.

    Sugar Mama first listen

At about 40 seconds there's an alternate drum fill, the guitar is different. Then again at around 1:14-1:17, the guitar is different here as well. The vocals are also missing. Another different fill at 2:04-2:07
  18. I tried to pick songs where the bass line doesn't follow the guitar, with the exception of Black Dog of course. I included Black Dog because it is one of JPJ's riffs - thus a candidate for the best bassline. I chose Ramble On, reason being that the bassline is just so much of the song. It begins the song, and carries it through till the end. It is quite a good riff too. A very, very close second would be Achilles Last Stand. My favorite bassline, such thundering power

Kevin Shirley on the making of DVD and HTWWW...

You're saying that a live cd or dvd combo culled from the multiple nights at Earls Court, Led Zeppelin at the pinnacle of their popularity, firing on most ( ) cylinders wouldn't sell? Sure, How the West Was Won didn't move a ton of copies, it was also marketed horribly and released at the same time as DVD (which confused people because it was also released as a DVD-A). It's sales in no way represent the current state of Led Zeppelin marketability. The current remasters sales might be a better indicator, but there's not a lot of reporting on sales numbers.
  20. I'm afraid it's likely as difficult as finding the pilot who flew over the Black Country Woman session....

    Pontiac Silverdome 1977

They operate out of Nashville. This has surely been beaten to death, as it is the only real clue we have regarding Pontiac video.

    Help me ID this song

My childhood was filled with KISS and 70s/80s metal, so, no I googled the two lines that in_the_evening gave and Yahoo answers had someone asking basically the same thing, seems to be a common thing. We'll see what he says, though.
