1973/07/17 again. I remember why this is my favorite show from '73.

Revisiting an old favorite, 1973/07/17.

My parents were there! Anyone out there know of any better quality sources of this show?
This video is definitely of the 28th. I can get you 320kbps mp3s of 3/1 for you sometime tomorrow and flacs at a later date if you like.

I dunno, I've always found 1975/03/27 to be an excellent show. It never came off as spontaneous, and I don't think it was meant to. They were playing for the last night's sake, and the show has a loose, jamming feel to it. If I want tighter, no-nonsense playing I'll just put on 03/12.
-
Even though the LA shows are recorded by Mike Millard, the matrices that could be made with those would be amazing, perhaps better than 2/12. I want the soundboard for 3/27 almost more than 3/21, as it has my favorite OtHaFA (the longest!), and the longest No Quarter of that tour.

Remastering 1977/05/28 for some reason

I'm not usually too hot on the Page & Plant version of No Quarter but this is probably Jimmy's best performance of it:

TSRTS from Tampa, '77. OMG, Bonzo is just VICIOUS on this! Would love a SBD of this show, even though it's just three songs
Who knows, maybe if EVSD releases a soundboard of Greensboro '77, Tampa will come as a bonus disc.

Cool, I'm in...what version are you using as the basis, Winston's? Millard 1st gen? Deep Striker? Sunset?
I'm using EVSD's "Just Can't Be Satisfied" from the big "For Badge Holders Only" boxset. It still sounds better to me than any low gen or fan remasters I've ever heard. I'm not doing anything radical with it, just reducing the tape hiss a little bit and more EQ in the high and mid range:

Working on remastering an old favorite, 1977/06/27.

I can attest to that, the one from the second night in LA (and Oakland) are superb.

Thank You - Page/Plant - No Quarter DVD
Due to Sue!
I absolutely love the P&P versions of Thank You. I highly recommend the one from 1995/10/09 in Boise. Jimmy's soloing is on another level.
-
Well, perhaps there is one thing that could save it: If I could watch Sue do an interpretive dance to it...while wearing a Godzilla costume.
I'll get Toho on the line and ask if I can borrow a suit

You know, call me crazy, but the Berlin '80 Stairway has kind of grown on me.
I've always liked it.
Doesn't matter what Berlin 1980 source you listen to...nothing can save "White Summer".
It's sad but true

Listening to the Godfathers records version of Seattle '77--on OTHAFA at the moment & I have to say, this Godfathers recording almost has me convinced that Jimmy's solo is actually quite good.
I've never thought that solo was bad either. It had melody and and a defined structure to it rather than the usual spaced-out chaotic riffing. The guitar was slightly out of tune (slightly) but that doesn't mean his playing was bad. It'd probably sound even better if we had the actual soundboard and not the video soundtrack.

This is my 77 soundboard compilation raytuned:
TSRTS 5/30
Sick Again 4/27
Nobody's Fault 5/22
In My Time of Dying 5/25
Since I've Been Loving You 5/21
No Quarter 5/22 (this was very hard between 5/22 and 6/11.. went with 5/22 cause of Nutrocker)
Ten Years Gone 6/7
The Battle of Evermore 5/22
Going to California 5/22
Dancing Days 5/26
Black Country Woman 5/30
Bron-Yr-Aur-Stomp 6/7
Kashmir 5/25
Achilles Last Stand 5/22
Stairway To Heaven 5/22
Whole Lotta Love/Rock & Roll 5/22
Trampled Underfoot 4/27
I don't have 5/28 but from what I've read I'm not missing anything.
I'd add the White Summer/Black Mountain Side, Over the Top, and the Noise Solo from 5/22 to that list, unless of course you left them off on purpose...

Revisiting Frankfurt 1980 for the first time in over a year.
-
I think mrledhed wasnt saying he had them so much as he was saying they would be the best 77 soundboards.
-
Fort Worth is definitely the best. 5/25 and 5/30 are also quite good. I'd definitely put 5/28 at the bottom of the barrel, but the extra long Kashmir is still good.
I'm not gonna try to turn this into an EVSD speculation thread, but I really hope a soundboard of 6/8 comes out.
