I'm in London for my grandsons first birthday.

Another sad loss. Two in one day with Buffin dying too.
I first saw The Eagles supporting Neil Young in 1973 and then 5 more times over the years up to last year.
-
Wow 70 already.
Here's a little clip I filmed from a Seasick Steve show in Manchester 2013

Very sad news. He led quite a full life you have to give him that. He was from my home town of Stoke on Trent. First saw him with Hawkwind in 1972 then a few times with Motorhead. Usually came out deaf for a few days.

It is Graceland. I don't know where the guitar pic is from. The other two were photos Robert signed for charity at the recent Egremont show. I bought them and a signed Celebration day cd.

Tomorrow, Roy Wood ( The Move, Wizzard) at The Robin 2 in Bilston Uk. Should be a good Christmas show.

Some film I shot in Nottingham Uk on 13.12.15

Exactly! Live footage is fun to watch but is no comparison to the real thing.
Yes. And just imagine how much better they were if you were witnessing their performance live, in person!! You've heard the accounts from folks who were there, the energy was incredible. You could never get the full effect from just watching footage. But for you and me, that's all we have.
These are tracks I filmed so I was seeing the real thing.

And guess who was there the night before? Yep me, and I was most miffed when I heard Jimmy had turned up the following night. I saw the Manchester show a couple of days before and then the Xmas eve show In Birmingham.

My son and family live in London but they are heading back for a few days over xmas this year so i am looking forward to seeing them. The boy will be one in January.

Didn't JB's close. I am shocked at the number of legendary venues that have disappeared.
Love those images.
Yes it has closed. Earls court will be next to go.

Hi ledded!
That is so great to have as a memory of a time with your son. Our kids do grow up so fast
Indeed DeborahJ. He's 35 now. He has been to see Robert with me a few times since then.

It was the age before we all started carrying cheap recording devices. It was even before digital still cameras. There were some regular photos of the event which have made their way onto the Internet via scanning. It's my guess that it probably wasn't that great of a performance, due to them not having rehearsed, being somewhat rusty, and a fair amount of alcohol. Am I right in having read that the instruments weren't even their, but that they belonged to the live band that had been hired for the event?
I wouldn't have cared less about the performance to be honest. It would have been a lot of fun to witness.
