How could I forget to say something to you in the other note? I have been waiting to hear that you are done with this surgery and on the way to a speedy recovery for what seems like years! You have grace and patience ally to put up with these delays. I believe I might have lost my cool by now. But I suppose that won't get you in the O.R. any quicker. Well my friend, here's hoping this will be the last delay you get and looking forward to some good news about this in March.

Thanks Ally. She worked really hard. Days away in Scotland, setting up stores all over the country. She was out of the house by 7 am and not back until 7pm. Never off ill. It's not as if the employers were short of a bob or two. Very very wealthy people. It just would have been nice for them to ask them to go to head office, explain the situation, say a big thanks. I mean we are not money people. We couldn't give a flying fuck if they said here's 10 grand but to do it on the phone is really hard for her to get her head round.
But hey lets be positive? We are very head strong people. We will turn this into a success whatever happens. Still she still has me

I admire your thinking CP and fully understand what your saying. Mrs Ally and I are much the same . Feck Em' I say and come what may. They may take our jobs but there's no way in hell they get our dignity
No official date on surgery yet but the time frame is for mid to late March. They didn't say what year though

. For myself and the mates in question, it had been about 25yrs since we'd seen each other. Life, for one reason or another, just took us in different directions I suppose. Even though the reason for the gathering was a sad one ( another old friend had passed away) all of us who got together that night saw our friend off in a fashion that was worthy of his friendship to us and at the same time re established the bonds that had made us all friends in the first place. -

Finally sold my condo in the quarter. Had my sound system in the great room upgraded this weekend and it's awesome..now I really don't want to ever leave home. I am taking this Friday off and taking the long weekend to do nothing but listen to music on the new system
Also. one of my best friends in the 80's after 17 years found me..she lives in Asheville, NC, plan on meeting up in the next few weekends. She was really a camera person and when she told me some of the pictures she had of us, I almost passed out... I honestly don't know how we got through some of the stuff we did!!
In recent months, circumstance has led to meeting up with a number of my old childhood/teenage friends. I have to admit that I had some concerns about doing so because it's almost impossible to go back and have what you once had with old mates but what I found out is, by moving forward, you can definitely get what you need ! Hey, now doesn't that sounds like a great theme for a song

A friend has just called me to say that he has arranged a corporate hospitality evening for Next Wednesdays game at Manchester United v Southampton. He will collect me and bring me home and the deal is Champagne and Canopes on arrival, 4 course dinner, top seats, meet ex players, post match drinks, private parking space,match programme in other words THE FULL WORKS. Cost to me Gratis, sans dosh

I received a phone call from Asda last night, asking me if I would be interested in a permanent job. I'm fucking thrilled to bits, it's stacking shelves but it pays a reasonable wage. The lady said she would let me know .

I have to say in my neck of the woods I just cannot see this happening to someone. Our medical has its problems, but no way would they leave someone hanging. If they bumped your surgery due to diabetic case or something, you would be in hours later. You would not be sent home.
I wasn't sent home Rick. It was cancelled a day before. That said, yeah, there are some serious problems within our system. I don't really want to get into a debate about it all but from what I've been led to believe, the issue is over what our provincial government is willing to pay an anesthesiologist. With the cost of living in Vancouver being as high as it is, many choose not to work here and that my friend has created a shortage of them. Hence, the prioritizing of surgeries.
