  1. this might make me v unpopular

does anyone else, other than me, think pink floyd are probably the most overrated band in the world?

listening to their albums from 68 through to the final cut (i dont count the ones without roger waters as they are completely dire) it strikes me there are only 3 good ones out of the whole bunch.

their early ones are just a lot of un-melodic noise and the later ones (the wall side 4 on vinyl and the final cut) just a weak attempt at some kind of brass band opera style pomp.

dark side of the moon is good BUT not that good, wish you were here and the first 3 sides of the wall are probably the only good stuff they ever released.

it amazes me how they are consistently put up there with Zeppelin as one of the greatest bands in history.

just listening to their drummer is enough to put you off

anyone got any thoughts on this?

You are certainly entitled to your opinion.

I totally disagree, but to each his/her own.

Floyd is in the top percentile of great bands.

Your opinion of Floyd doesn't change that.

  2. Wow. It's been awhile since I've checked in here.

I think I am going to be very tired after spending the early morning hours catching up on the HPOJ thread. He's worth loosing sleep over though. B)

    Here's some goodies for you.

  3. I was listening to Physical Graffiti today for the first time in a long while. I was really struck by just how awesome LZ sounds on that double disc. Every song on that double album sizzles (except Down By The Seaside. One of the few songs I hate by LZ).

Hard to pick just one, but maybe The Rover. Kashmir if I could pick a second one.

I've always loved the way Robert sings How Many More times. I especially love the version he sings on the BBC CD. I love the bit when he goes Oh Rosie, My Girl. Oh Rosie Baby, My Girl.

He is just amazing there. JP had a great little solo there as well. hehe The whole band is in a groove there.

    All My Love.

Tangerine, The Rain Song, Black Dog, Rock & Roll.

    Oh...I can't stop now.

Darkness, Darkness is not Roberts song, not is it Zeppelin, but I love his version of it.

  4. Ok he's wearing his white Dragon suit...

    He's got his eyes closed...

    He's covered in sweat...

    I can't breathe...*thud*

If he had a cig, we'd be dead. lol

Holy crap! I've died and gone to heaven!

  5. I don't think Jimmy looks too thin at all, to me he looks healthy. It's great seeing him so happy, and look at him in that group shot with Metallica! He is the most gorgeous out of all of them!

I haven't been in here for awhile. I scrolled through 3 pages or hot sexyness...and I have the thread length set to max! lol

Anyway, first of all this ^ pic. OMG! Could his hair be anymore perfect?

Second of all, I think Jimmy looks fine backstage with Metallica

He doesn't seem too thin to me.

Since he is out of retirement, maybe he is getting in shape for a little something-something. :)

    This pic is hilarious.

I cannot wait to see Metallica in November!

I'm sure JP won't be at the show I am attending though. :boohoo:
