  1. There's a nice feature on '70s Stones' in this month's Mojo. Nothing new, but a pleasant read. Also features an amusing pic of Brenda in a punk 'Destroy' t-shirt :hysterical: . Who was he trying to kid?

He also wears that shirt in the recently released 'Some Girls Live' concert dvd.

  2. Yep... it sure does start with an H. Man Heroine is a motherf**ker!!

What's weird is Jimmy's fashion sense was at its coolest with the white dragon suit and his aviator sunglasses, but man he looked like a skeleton. I truly believe that if Zeppelin didn't break up when it did, Page most certainly would've died.

On another note, I really wish the Pontiac gig was filmed, hopefully it exists and will come out one day.

Totally agreed about the poppy suit and sunglasses, badass mofo. The concert was filmed, there's no doubting that. Whether or not the footage still exists is another thing altogether, it would be a travesty if it didn't!

  3. For what it's worth I bought the Some Girls Deluxe edition today and the second disc of outtakes is very very good. I have no idea what was recently finished or was a legitimate outtake but the tunes are really good. Ron Wood plays pedal steel on many of them and there's a serious twang factor in most of them.

They didn't destroy the original album with noise wars remastering either. I'm very pleased with this.

Sounds like I'll have to pick this up.

  4. You won't get unreleased quality bootleg (true bootleg) material until either Keith or Mick pass on. Besides, didn't you like the Exile issue when it first came out? I thought you posted here that you did?

Maybe not, either way though there is a ton of Stones boots out there, a lot of it really really good. All is not lost.

Yeah I've got tonnes of really good sounding SBD's that could be official releases. 'No Flash No Gimmicks' comes to mind.

  5. Chicago, 7/7/73. First time listening to this show, Plant's voice is pretty weak but Jimmy is on fire! SIBLY is awesome despite Plant's weak vocals. Just about to sit back and listen to Dazed, my favourite part of any '73 show. It reached its peak in '73 imo. It was never better before or after this year for me, apart from maybe the 21-3-75 version which is probably my favourite.

  6. March 16, 1973 Wiener Stadthalle, Vienna, Austria

"A Night at the Opera" 2cd; audience tape on the Electric Magic label.

You really can't go wrong with any Spring 1973 Europan show, in my opinion. This Vienna concert was one of the few from that tour I didn't have until I picked it up yesterday. Pretty decent sound and the performance is killer, as usual...I LOVE these early TSRTSs because Jimmy is playing it so clean and fast on the 12-string. The late-1972 to Spring 1973 TSRTSs are the closest ones to the studio version Jimmy played. I understand why they eliminated "Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp" but I wish Zep had kept "Dancing Days" for the 73 US tour.

Still on disc one, as Rain Song is last song on disc.

I recommend you get the Winston Remaster of this great show, which combines the audience and SBD recording.

  7. BTW Looking at the sucky other thread WTF is wrong with some of you guys ''PUUNK SUCKS I R SO SOPHISTICATED HUHUUH' or ''UH OH THERE BASIST NO LIKE MY SEXY ZEPPLIN UGH THE CLASH SUCK DEY ONLY KNOW A CHORD LOL I FUNNY HAHA'

Mick Jones fucking loved Led Zeppelin He was at there reunion.

So what if Paul didn't like Zeppelin its his loss our gain BTW Do we even have a Direct Quote that he said that shit about the album covers making him throw up?

All we have is that fucking utter tosh HOTG.

    Long Live The Cleppelin!

Here's the quote: 'I don't want to hear Led Zeppelin, just looking at their album covers makes me want to throw up.'

  8. Sandinista's fine as long as you have a big bag of weed.

The Clash sold out with London Calling.

Hahahaha no way man. Thats a ridiculous thing to say, London Calling is one of the greatest ever imo. The band simply evolved and wanted to try out different styles.

  9. YES.

I lived close to the Netherlands for almost 19 years. They seem to have no problems there resulting of the legalisation of weed. Also, there are very strict controls concerning driving under the influence of pot. And there is such a thing as common sense that tells most people not to drive under the influence of drugs like alcohol, weed or certain medication.

I wish it were in Germany like in California - it should at least be legal for medication. A friend of mine suffered from severe anxiety and according to him ocassionaly consuming pot also helped to deal with it, additional to therapy and medication. As a painkiller, it is the better alternative to morphium. (ironically, morphium, which is a stronger drug concerning the effects and addiction potential, is legal for pain medication in Germany)

However, it is more or less decriminalised in most parts of Germany. I'll move to Berlin this week, and there aren't any charges held against you when you don't carry more than 15 grams with you. Everything under that amount is considered for self consumption only, which isn't charged. Basically, one dould walk through Berlin with quite a few plastic bags of weed as long as they don't yell "hey i have weed".

From what I've read and seen from friends Mary Jane actually makes anxiety worse.
