  1. ......this is MINDBLOWING.....it is so cool that....FINALLY..... after a HALF CENTURY....and TONS of 8mm audience footage ......here for the first time we see specifically what Showco's lighting choices were to open the gig....and it was INFINITELY more intricate / interesting than I'd have guessed....little things like that ain't 'small at all' for me....only at beginning of Sick Again and I'm LOCKED IN....if this ends up showing a lot of the insane Bonham Sick Again fills right now I'm gonna pass out....
  2. 69- 4/24 San Fran As Long As I Have You 70- 3/7 Montreux Thank You and 9/19 NYC evening show OOTT 71- 5/4 Odense Four Sticks, 9/29 Osaka Immigrant and 9/28 Osaka Black Dog 72- 6/25, 27 SIBLY and OTHAFA 73 7/28, 28, 29 Dazed, WLL, NQ, TSRTS 75 3/12 Long Beach Kashmir 77- 6/23 Sick Again and 6/13 OTHAFA 79- 8/4 Achilles 80 6/29 Train Kept Rollin 07- Kashmir, IMTOD and FYL
  3. .....cannot tell ya anything about that kid.....but I can definitely tell you that the scene was not shot at Jennings Farm just outside Kidderminster .....that I can assure you.....what I'm fuzzy on is where....if memory serves it was actually shot in Wales
  4. This shot always blew me away....cause more than any other post 75 image, it's got such an EARLY 70's Zeppelin feel to it
  5. love it!!!....Big Bird won't, what with the K at the end....which is probably why I do!!!
  6. .....also interesting to consider that, this being a radio concert, it was the very first time that a great deal of hardcore Zeppelin folk heard SIBLY....
  7. Steve, sounds amazing as per SteveZ98 USUAL!!!....agreed SIBLY in Spring '70 (in particular THIS version) Robert is doing things that evoke the innocence / beauty / raw power of that era better than anything.....please send link.....
  8. .....exactly right.....in fact, after the July 73 MSG gigs, that lower stage / smaller stage / no drum riser / front row right on top of photo pit set-up was gone forever in America....the 10th n 11th US tours, even all the indoor arena gigs, that all ended .....that's another reason why this video is so special.....it looks like something it AIN'T....in a really cool way.....
  9. ....something EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE (in an incredibly positive way, to be certain) ...about the overall look of the gig on this video...that is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what this gig really was....because of the particular angle he's filming from, coupled with the high mm lens he's using...in addition to all the activity / number of people filming all over the place for video screen....gives the false impression that A. the stage was much lower than it actually was (it literally appears to be similar in height to 73 MSG SRTS stage)...and B. much closer to the crowd than it actually was (again very much like TSRTS) .....these two deceptions absolutely offer an appearance of warmth that, as JPJ righly stated about these stadium gigs, was not there at all.....
  10. If I'd have been told beforehand ...specifically which songs this contained footage of...I'd have never guessed in a million years ....that Ten Years Gone would hit me the hardest.....ironic considering it was the only song on the 77 setlist...that I'd not yet heard...when I saw them six weeks later on 6/13 at age 14...
  11. I do believe your comparison here? is the finest compliment anyone (besides the guitarist himself) has.ever given about an image of mine. Thank you kindly for that, TOWTF...and you may have something here I've never considered- that Plant image from Kezar 73, from 76 till I moved outta my parents home in 86, was.FRONT N CENTER, so to speak, in my room....meaning, DIRECTLY above my Pioneer stereo system....entire room covered with nothing BUT Zeppelin posters, but that poster was the ONLY ZEPPELIN POSTER....that stayed put....for an entire decade....now those posters are 100% the main reason I got into concert photography....and that image in particular, being I held it in such high regard?..perhaps you're onto something ....anyway, the other guitarist I loved photographing, who'd be the only other live guitarist that blew me away in a similar sense to Jimmy, is Jim McCarty outta Detroit....this guy also has the magic touch...
  12. The Destroyer 4 lp box (axe-weilding barbarians on original cover) was my first bootleg purchase. I always felt 4/28 was one of very few 77 performances that absolutely matches up to the 6 night Forum run. The previous night's sbd came out sometime later,, maybe 79, and I remember being shocked at how back to back nights could be perfect 180's from eachother. Needless to say 4/28 was the first legendary gig of the 77 tour and the following (record-breaking) gig in Detroit was also significantly better than the rest of the 1st leg. 2nd leg, TOTALLY different story. But WATCH OUT for the 3rd leg, as a dear friend of mine once said- it's PORNAGRAPHIC!!!
  13. .....my goodness.....listen to the ABSOLUTE CRAP SOUND on that official 'pro' clip....and listen to how MAGICAL it sounds from this CELL PHONE RECORDING!!!....Jimmy, who's had to deal with this complete insanity for over a HALF CENTURY, should be ABSOLUTELY INFURIATED ....after all, this is PRECISELY why Zeppelin completely stopped doing TV less than a year into their 12 yr run....I thank the person who posted the official clip; it looks brilliant....person(s) responsible for recording / mixing audio??? DEATH BY ZUG ZUG!!!...unforgivable.....like listening to Wizardo's big scary Badgeholder recording....followed by one of those brutally flat 77 sb's...... https://youtu.be/00jt7_T5WoI?si=L-AoLPBkYVT8cqfH
  14. GOD BLESS YOU and THANK YOU STARSHIP!!!...here's a shot I grabbed at 02 reunion of For Your Life
