  1. Slightly :offtopic: but not too far I hope:

I like to play a private game when I'm at work. I try to work in a reference to Zeppelin without anyone realising (to be honest, none of the people I work with are Zep fans, so they probably wouldn't have a clue anyway, but it amuses me and makes the day slightly more interesting).

For example, the other day I was discussing a conversation that a colleague had had with a customer when they weren't sure if the customer was upset or not, and I managed to say "... 'cos you know - sometimes words have two meanings".

"There's been a communication breakdown here ... " is also an easy one to slip into conversation.

I've never found the right time to incorporate "squeeze my lemon" yet, though ... ! :whistling:

  2. Generally (but not always!) I play roles of bad persons: witchs or evil stepmothers..

I get into this roles best of all. again it's much more interesting =P

I know what you mean! I once went to a fancy dress party dressed as Cruella de Vil and I really got into character ... stalking round the room saying things like "I'm beginning to see spots ..." and "I've no use for babies!"

  3. that is the most awesome picture!

Awwww - thanks! I think it's an embarrassingly bad photo, but it does at least prove my Zeppelin fan heritage! I wonder what happened to that t shirt? I seem to recall that my mum melted the print on the front when she ironed it! :(

  4. Inspired by Otto and Puck, I went rummaging through all the old photos I could find at my mum and dad's house today, and found this - me in 1975 or maybe '76, wearing my first Zeppelin t shirt! The photo was taken whilst we were on holiday in the New Forest.

I got contact lenses shortly after this photo was taken - thank God!

  5. Well, it rained for pretty much all of July and September in England, so today was a very welcome change! I sat outside in my garden, reading the newspaper. At one point, a light aircraft flew overhead with that familiar buzzing, droning sound, and I found myself muttering under my breath "Nah, leave it, yeah ... " :D
