Oh! My Mom used to make those at Christmastime!
Did she? They take a lot of patience to make. My credit to your mom.
I just hope my friend had a beautiful wedding, Saturday. I've known her for 2 years. I used an apple and was told if it's not fully covered, it would rot. But I did the whole thing. They can last 10 years, and still smell good. I must have had several hundred cloves on there. It's tedious.
I gave her a big hug and wished her congratualations, and hoped her wedding would be beautiful, rain or shine.
When she got it, she was so happy. She loves the smell of cloves. But said, she would have to find a place to put it up high, because her doggie eats everything that pertains to food.
It's nice to hear from you Virginia. I hope you're doing fantastic! Keep on rockin'!

I'm making something called a pomander, for a friend that's getting married this weekend. Only I'm using an apple, and covering the whole thing with cloves.

Happy birthday to Panther!
Hope all is well with you mate
I like your signature quote, Jules. Thank you for your Birthday wish. I'm looking to be more happier this year, and sincerely applying positivity to my outlook, that I'm borrowing from the support of friends, like yourself, and others. I like to give to others on my Birthday, because it makes me feel good. I wish to offer you comfort and peace. Take care.

Trying to find an ally, are you.Your transparency is obvious. There was no conspiracy theory and you threw the hissy fit by slinking away months back when it was made clear what you were trying to do.You attempted to takeover this thread by posting your own information in a completely different format to the method that Deborah J had followed for a long time and to gain kudos by doing it while Deborah J ,who was the caretaker was away.Let's be clear on this, there are no hard and fast rules about threads taking a different direction but when you ride on someone else's coattails to do it....you can see where I'm going here. And you can't rewrite history,in fact since you didn't learn from it you're doomed to repeat it.
See above*
There it is,the rousing call to arms at the end of the post!
Friends?
Romans?
What you call throwing a hissy fit by slinking away months ago, I call a dealing with a family tragedy.

So much for conspiracies, Ross. Have a nice day.
I thought Deborah J has done a smashing job with this thread, and have nothing negative to say about her style of the direction in the way she or anyone wishes to take the thread.

I was just as happy as I could be with the participation she took one of my threads. I wish Deborah J the best and am looking forward to her return.

Is this thread about history or just any topic now?
If you wish it to be about Led Zeppelin History:

AUGUST 17, 1969 - OAKDALE THEATRE, WALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT (SUNDAY, 8pm)
Support from The Mustard Family. The show was performed on a revolving stage, resulting in very uneven sound.Recording Includes: The Train Kept A Rollin' [ cut ] >> I Can't Quit You Baby.
Source: Incomplete fair audience recording. 8 minutes.
Details: A distorted and very distant tape.Bootleg CD Reference(s): Anybody Got A Les Paul? (Equinox), Red Snapper Deluxe (Balboa Productions), & Tales From '69 (Tarantura)
Comments: This is all that exists from this show ... I heard that the taper stored it for years in bad conditions and this is the only undamaged part of the tape. A very powerful fragment and it leads me to believe the rest of the show was equally powerful and exciting.

AUGUST 17 - HAMPTON COLISEUM, HAMPTON BEACH, VIRGINIA (MONDAY)
The show was rescheduled from August 10, 1970.Recording Includes: Immigrant Song >> Heartbreaker (<< Bouree..), Dazed And Confused, Bring It On Home, That's The Way, Bron-Yr-Aur, [ cut ], Since I've Been Loving You, Organ Solo >> Thank You, What Is And What Should Never Be, Moby Dick, Whole Lotta Love (<< Back In The USA, Boogie Chillun [ cut ], I'm Moving On, CC Rider..), Announcer Speech, Communication Breakdown (<< Good Times Bad Times..).
Source: Incomplete fair to good audience recording. Almost 122 minutes.
Details: It's distant, overloaded and sometimes barely listenable source with only the voice clear in the general mush. The instruments do clear on occasions but there are some dropouts, volume/channel changes and recorder handling noise in various places. When sound progresses, the hiss is becoming even more annoying.Bootleg CD Reference(s): Live In Hampton 1970 (The Diagrams Of Led Zeppelin)
Comments: This show varies bewteen great and average. Bron-Yr-Aur is the worst, sounding like Page tuning his guitar for two minutes. However, they do achieve some unique dramatic effects in the early part of Dazed And Confused, and the guitar solo in Since I've Been Loving You is very dramatic. The ending guitar work in Imigrant Song also sounds very unusual.
Couretsy of AA ^^
But basically, (Kipper), a few people participated (trying to fill in) in Deborah J's absence, and people pitched a hissy fit and started a Conspiracy Theory that the thread was trying to be subverted from Deborah J, who didn't even start the thread.
*If anyone wishes to include non-Led Zeppelin shows (as solo shows) please feel free to add.* before I am accused of subverting the thread by the likes of Walter and Ross for a conspiracy.* Otherwise, enjoy some early Led Zeppelin, from August 17th 1969 & 1970!

I don't think there is anything to debate, some beautiful people were slaughtered by a religious fanatic. I see no disrespect in calling that like it is.
Great posts, kipper. It looks like only 1 person is trying to debate you. (And in the Rest In Peace forum of all places) *smh*
I'm sorry for the loss you must feel on this horrible attack. May this tragedy and more like this be stopped, like in San Bernardino, Chattanooga, Brussels, and Paris (the later 2 of which NRA doesn't even exist) ;), so that these victims can truly Rest in Peace. Take care, kipper.

He is rumoured to commit suicide. Do you believe in it?
http://www.tmz.com/2016/03/11/keith-emerson-death-suicide/Yes, I believe what you said is true. Yours is not a welcome post, but it is a good and true post. http://www.news24.com/xArchive/Archive/Depression-worst-disease-by-2020-20020403
Depression hits all of us. Emerson had a journey though life, and it must have become so difficult for him. Many of us that post on this thread respect those that leave an impact on us. It's hard for us to let them go, but we have no idea of what they are going through in their personal lives.
We tend to focus on what people give to us, rather than how they feel about what is going on with them. Many of them are loving and caring, and believe that it's a burden to share the weight of their discomfort. They can be ordinary people or famous people. But we are all just people. Maybe his burden was too great to carry for himself. I dunno, Freeyyaa. Sometimes the weight is too heavy to carry, and others feel it's a burden to share. I think it's a mistake, and others can help, if they know what is going on.

The past few days have taken a huge toll on me. My fiancé's dad passes away 2 days ago, after a long bout with sarcoma. He suffered a lot of pain. He was 59 years old.
And yesterday, my father was given the news that he has lung cancer carcinoma. He already had 2/3rds of his right lung removed in 2012, leaving him with COPD. All the doctors can do is chemo.
I'm wondering, what can medical marijuana do? Can it kill cancer cells?
