Until people post a pic, I imagine them as looking like their avatars--so needless to say, you didn't look quite like I'd imagined, YC! Your wife is indeed lovely, and you're--well, lovelier than your avatar.
Oh, and cracking pic, Bonnie!

You're right, those are two amazing pics, especially the first one. Such power! (Oh, those wonderful Strange Sensation days . . . )
-
I remember seeing Dr. Syn at the movies and falling madly in love with the young hero, who I assume must have been Sean Scully. Wonder whatever happened to him? Anyway, it was an enjoyable tale (for the young and impressionable, anyway).
-
Wonderful pic, both of you--you look great together, the dark and blonde effect.
(Sorta Plant/Pagesque.
)

Never mind--crass pun deleted, despite RP having used it himself!

Well, they didn't really waste their time BECAUSE they didn't know what was going to happen, if you see what I mean. At the time it made perfect sense for them to be doing that.

I remember queuing all night for tickets for the Faces at that-place-in-Liverpool-where-they-used-to-have-the-wrestling, can't-remember-its-name, fuelled only by a packet of digestive biscuits and bottles of Guinness.
Then there were all the postal ballots. I got lucky for the Stones and Springsteen in different decades . . .

I don't care what anybody says, that man at 63 is still so hot!!!! I love big cats!
He's 60--though I'm sure he'll still be hot at 63!

Yes, it's in deep south Germany. And on the other shore of the lake it's the Swiss then.
Part of the world I've never been to--it looks beautiful.
-
Wow, it is, yes. It's in Germany too, I believe?
-
Great to see you, glicine--you're lovely, and those are terrific pics.
I love the first one in particular, since I love the water (hence Aquamarine, among other reasons
) and the colors are great. The other one is cool, too.
-
I love that last one!
-
Cool shirt, too!

The whole song is addictive--by far my favorite Zep song.
I hadn't read that article before, and I have to say it's some of the most superlative tripe I've ever read, but luckily that doesn't detract from the brilliance of the song.

You've only got to look at pictures of him a few years ago without it, to see how much older he looked then. That beard covers up a lot of things better covered!
-
Great pics Spacewoman and Dzldoc!
-
Good question since the dude in the back with the suit looks like he's circa 1963.
I'd have said 1958 myself.
Yes, PJ Proby is still alive--he's now 70. I'm sure I've read an interview where he discussed making that album, but dang me if I can remember where.

Apart from his hair, I didn't think he looked anything like Wilder, myself. Still, that wasn't Robert's primo period. I'll take the lion any day, cowardly or not.

Robert Plant, the 60-year-old lead singer of the iconic rock band Led Zeppelin, and 37-year-old bluegrass fiddler Alison Krauss teamed up last year to release the CD "Raising Sun" - the collaboration earned the unlikely pair five Grammy Awards last night.
(I wouldn't get too upset about what comedians say about Robert, btw, people--it's nice to see him on the front-burner for once.
)

Do you recall if that was on Headline News or CNN itself? Just curious as I would like to see it if possible. Hopefully it's viewable online.
Sorry, Jahfin, I only just saw this! (It was on CNN itself, but too late now, I imagine.)
-
Um...am I wrong or did Robert and Jimmy share pants?!?
Not only that, but Jimmy at least looks like he got dressed in the dark--what a color combination!
-
Well, I don't know... IMO we should show more respect for those who say what they really think - even if we don't agree with them -, than for those who simply jump on the bandwagon of some political party or ideology only because it looks "cool" in some specific historical period. And it is a matter of fact that being conservative AND a rockstar in the 70's was not very common
*sorry for the off-topic*
Well, you're right there. And I certainly respect him for stating his real opinion. It's just that his real opinion doesn't coincide with my real opinion of Edward Heath, let's say.
-
Richard does value Jimmy's respect for women in Stairway to Heaven, (and I do trust Jimmy, he would never mislead anyone)....Richard writes that Jimmy is classy English Rockstar who had nothing but respect for all the women he encountered, that includes women who became friends, motherly, etc... for a day or for a lifetime....
Yes, but Jimmy comes out of the book looking better than others because Cole was on better terms with him than others.
And I assume still is, judging by Knebby's information.

Yeah, but many would still like to bury the hatchet in his head.
I don't blame them--I was actually amazed to see him at those events.
I think the thing is the betrayal, Wolfman--at least it would be for me. Even if every word was true, and if he hadn't picked out the most salacious bits, and portrayed the people he wasn't on good terms with in the worst light he could--there's still the betrayal of confidences issue.

"Ooh, My Soul" is also one of Little Richard's signature songs, unlike Valens's.
