Jarlaxle 56
Are there any fans of John Cale's music here? He was in the VU, but he also composes and records his own music. I for one, think he is bloody brilliant. I mean, this song right here... Damn! He's amazing!

CaliforniaÜberAlles
Oh yeah, not only did VU hit their artistic peak while he was a member of the band, but what I've heard of his solo stuff is quite interesting. speaking of the velvet underground does anyone know a good book about them thats not "all yesterdays parties" because that one was terrible Check out the book "Up-Tight: The Velvet Underground Story". Very informative, and it has a ton of great pictures. Edited July 26, 2009 by CaliforniaÜberAlles
Jarlaxle 56
Paris 1919 is a really great album to get started with for John Cale's solo work, as well as Music For A New Society, the latter is much more dreary and depressing than the former, however. Also, I really like what versions I've heard of John performing 'covers' of VU classics.
